Wow. I didn't know that when you order a burger you actually are ordering a double. No complaints from me. I added everything including green peppers which they grilled for me. There are free peanuts too. Small fries were enough for two people. The burgers were hot and freshly made. They were delicious. Gotta say I prefer these burgers over In N Out! Came here with my wife for a quick meal to bring home. I fell for the trap of the double burger which results in a burger that is nearly impossible to eat cleanly. It tasted fantastic though, and with the cajun fries it is as complete and balanced meal as any guy could ever want. I am glad that they finally introduced a third, smaller size of fries. There were still too many, but now I don't have to find a small village to feed the leftovers to. My wife's milkshake was also pretty good but they seemed to lose her order and we had a wait a bit for it. read more

The best chain restaurant burger place... although there are some close seconds. I come here when I want a burger and french fries when I am close by. Many ways to customize your burger with various toppings. Burgers cooked to order. Really great french fries, with malt vinegar available too. They have those coke freestyle machines so you can make cool flavors otherwise not available. Also free peanuts in the shell while you wait on them to cook your order... just help yourselves to them. This Five Guys was built out in an ex-Mr. Subb, and if that's not a tremendous upgrade, I'm not sure what is. But therein lies the truth of the only quibble I have with this location: they kept the basic Mr. Subb layout. You have to circulate to the very corner of the store to order, and the pickup counter faces away from an entire half of the store. Now, the rear part is a little quieter and more secluded that your typical Five Guys seating area, which is OK by me, but you can never hear your order number called out because of the quirk of the layout here. I've always loved me a good burger... and these guys just flat out do it right. They have very tasty burgers that are top quality. They give you a lot of options to decorate your burger with a dozen different toppings too. Some people complain about the price, but seeing as how they have quality beef and let you put as many toppings as you want on it for the same flat price... I just don't see the problem. If you want a burger for $1 go to a fast food chain that will serve you up a very flat nasty burger. These guys do it right and use great ingredients. As for the french fries. Can't beat em. They have thick cut fries that are fresh and cooked in peanut oil - then salted. Sure the calories of the meals in their entirety is up there but you're about to eat a burger and fries... you weren't too health conscious when you walked in right? lol but for real they make a very high quality burger and give you so much for the dollar amount. Place is clean, staff is polite, and the food is good. For the Albany area (and in general) it's one of the best places to get a burger. The patties are seared and cook well, the buns are fresh, and the atmosphere is is causal - reminiscent of summer afternoons. You can order regular or Cajun fries - the latter has a spicy, smokey seasoning on it and the regular ones are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I have been eating Five guy's burgers for over 6 years and it's still one of the best burgers i have had. I discovered five guys outside of DC when I needed a quick meal. I don't do fast food. Ever. But five guys are on a league of their own. It's almost like burgers you grilled in the backyard, but somehow, better. They are juicy and filled with flavor. The simple bun and the cheese just completes it. The fries rock too, but I can spend 3 hours just reviewing those sumptuous suckers! And you gotta love the peanuts! I wanted to review this place because our company ordered our lunch this past Thursday from this location and their customer service blew us away. Get this- they delivered. No, I'm not playing. They brought us, a whole pack of napkins, individually packed ketchup and mustard, like a million of them in it's own box. Oh yeah, the manager, she was very friendly to us on top of that. Did I mention we are located in Troy? Latham is not far, but, it's not close either. Our company prides in customer service,we are known in the area for it. What can I say other than...."I LOVE FIVE GUYS!" My favorite chain burger place. I love the service at this location, the burgers are always well cooked and taste delicious. Definitely recommend the Cajun fries. The $30,000 soda machine will blow your mind with all the options it can offer. Wow is all I can say! I made the "mistake" of ordering a double cheese burger with bacon AND we each ordered fries. Little did I know that the double is huge! And each order of fries is really "two" servings. So we ended up too full to eat the full batch. First, the ordering process is very flexible. You can pick many toppings. Second, they cook the food to order right there, which is nice. Fresh ground beef and fresh fries. It doesn't take very long to get your order. You can use the Coke freestyle machine to make virtually any drink you desire (well unless you're a Pepsi fan--which I'm not). You could also chow down on some peanuts if you wanted. Staff was friendly and efficient. Fries are to die for. Nice, hot, crisp, and just the right amount of seasoning.
