I found a great burger here. Loaded it with "everything listed in black" and chased it with some fries and a drink. To top it off, had some shelled peanuts offered by the restaurant at no charge while waiting for my order. The place is very clean and the outside eating area protected from the sun and from passerby's. A great place to take the family. read more

Ate here with the wife a few weeks ago before seeing a movie at the mall. Great burgers and fries, I love the double patty they put on the burgers. Fries were well seasoned as well. Very similar to In 'N Out but Five Guys has better fries in my opinion. Will definitely return when at the mall. read more

Great service and great food. Love to see a hamburger being cooked in front of me, five guys and In N Out are the reason I don't eat fast food if I can't see it being cooked. This is not even able to be considered fast food IMO. They just added shakes also and you can add bacon, cannot wait to try one but I am gonna have to be able to take a nap otherwise. Got take out from here. Two cheese burgers and Cajun fries. The burgers we both soggy, sloppy and full of grease. It was super mushy and unappealing to eat. The fries where so over seasoned they were inedible. And they actually included extra packets of salt. Lol. The milkshakes were decent but still nothing to return for. Just lost $40 bucks. First time visiting this new location and for the most part it was a good experience. The food and service was good as usual, however they do not have speakers for the outdoor seating (or were not using them). We waited for quite a while for our food to be ready and when I went inside to check on it, I found out that they had been calling our number for like 5 minutes without checking on the outdoor customers. I'm sure once this is remedied, this will be a great location to enjoy the unique experience of Five Guys Burgers. read more

My husband and I recently got VERY sick after eating at this five guys location. We both felt awful for more than 24 hours. You would think the meat was the culprit, but my husband had a veggie sandwich and I had a regular burger...I think the vegetables weren't cleaned properly. I'm always on the lookout for a great burger! My first visit to 5 Guys at Parkway Plaza was a success and I'll be back. As i walked in and stood looking at the menu a very polite young African American gentleman who was nearby cleaning up asked if I'd been there before...i must have looked lost! He very nicely explained the differences between the burger sizes, what "all the way" meant, and gave a recommendation on proper fries size as well. The Burger was flavorful, but i like mine medium and they only do "Well" (i noticed the sign after i'd already paid). I got most of the toppings and decided to get the "hot sauce" on the side since i didn't know how spicy it was going to be. There were too many pickles for my taste, and a tad too much mustard (I'll remember to say "easy" next time) but other than that a very enjoyable burger. The Fries were delicious and thank goodness i got the small because i still couldn't quite finish them. I asked about the "Cajun" style fries and was told they were spicy and saltier than the regular fries... not a big salt fan so skipped them this time. It was around 8pm so it wasn't busy at all, but still loud with all the employees trying to talk over the music to each other. I definitely could have done without the girl at the register singing loudly and off key to the music....but oh well! All in all, not the Best Burger I've ever had... but not bad. read more

I've eaten at several Five Guys in the San Diego area, but mostly at the El Cajon location. Their regular (2 patty) burger reminds me of the great burgers I had as a child, so it's a natural like for me. The fires are ok, never had the hot dog. Seems like they are overstaffed frequently, with workers standing around, gabbing and acting silly. I absolutely hate the music, which comes over cheap speakers, is very loud, and reverberates in the restaurant. Seating is very basic. Cleanliness varies, I guess by who's on the shift. The best way to order is by internet, then run in to pick it up. No noise, crowds, etc. I don't know which corporate brainiac, encourages loud obnoxious music,, but when they look at sagging sales figures, the answer may dawn on them. read more

They're meh. Almost $30 for two burger combos? Even Red Robin has a better deal. And now every one has an alleged allergy to everything. People make mistakes. People who work at Five Guys make mistakes. People who work at five guys might take your order of a single cheese burger with sauteed onions and instead give you a double burger sans onions at all. These things happen. I called 5G after a bungled order, and told them I was not happy with their service, they messed up not 1, but 2 burgers that I ordered and because of their mistake, the meal cost 10$ more than it should have. They assured me that a representative from the Parkway Plaza branch would contact me and attempt to correct the situation. This hasn't happened. So I'm writing a Yelp review. Do yourself a favor, skip eating here. The staff is indifferent and unprofessional, the food is greasy and overpriced (just look at the bag after the food has been in there 10 minutes) , and if you do have a problem with the service or staff or anything, good luck getting any consideration from the management. read more

Today was my first experience at Five Guys. I observed during my time there a very sweet pregnant employee that was sweeping the floor, and a customer was asking her about her baby, due date, etc. One of the other employees (BRYCE) yelled multiple times across the restaurant that he was sending her home for talking to these people for what was probably all of 5 minutes. It was very rude, unprofessional, and unprofessionally handled in my opinion. She DID get sent home for talking to the customers. I will not be going back there again and I will be sure to spread what happened by word of mouth. That is not the way employees should treat each other. I wasn't impressed by the food either. In N Out is better, and at least they treat each other with respect. read more

Hubby had been wanting to try this place for awhile so we were at the mall and thought we would have lunch. We were really disappointed. Our first bag had the right fries but neither burger was correct. The second had one burger and the fries correct but the second burger was incorrect. Once we got that all straightened out, we began to eat. The burgers were nothing special, they had very little flavor and the fries were sooooooooooooo salty that we had to brush each one off before we could eat them. Having been to Burger Lounge and Smashburger in recent months, I finally got to Five Guys for the first time today at lunch. The place seemed clean and the music was not crazy loud, and I rather liked the fact that you can watch them assemble the food, which I liked because I wanted to get a feel for how big the burgers were etc. Ordering was efficent and the guy that took the order was very helpful. I tried the regular sized Bacon Cheeseburger with just lettuce tomatoes and onions, and they were happy to give me the other stuff like bbq sauce etc on the side. Turns out the regular sized burger is two patties which were decently charred on the flat top seved well done but still pretty juicy. I found the meat to bun ratio to be a bit much, next time i would do a single. One complaint.... the raw onions served with the burger were rather large dice of white onion which had a very off taste, perhaps old or like the pre cut veggies you can buy in the markets that taste of chemicals. Fries were nop notch.. not really crisp but crisp enough, good flavor just right salt and very tasty fried in peanut oil. They gave me a little side of the cajun seasoning which was nice touch also. Beverage bar is way cool...big variety, alas no fresh brewed iced tea, but I made do. All in all decent burger good fries decent drinks... total price $ 14.25 .... read more

Two stars only! The place is clean, and the customer service is very nice, but the down side was the Burger itself! It was greasy and not cooked well even thought I specifically said burn it, but it came not cooked well! Also, the Peanuts was old and tasted horrible! I tasted better burger before and this one "NO" not coming back again! read more
