Wow, I really don't get it! This is FAR from the Best burger around! The place is way too noisy, smells alike grease and WAY too expensive for what you get. The burgers are greasy and only a notch above BK, Wendy's or McD's. I took my family to Five Guys the other night. Not only was my order not correct and didn't realize until I got home, but the fries were soggy and under cooked, and the burgers made us all sick! We all had bad stomach cramps! My 10 year old little girl had it the worst with diarrhea for 2 days! The kitchen was dirty and messy, not to mention from the day they moved to our town all you can smell is grease when you drive by! So good. We look for reasons to go to Dover so we can eat lunch at Five Guys. A simple menu that doesn't confuse. Basic burgers which means they don't mess up because they don't offer up enough to mess it up. Burgers = amazing. It's not just the burgers, it's the buns and the toppings. A cheeseburger with everything cannot be beat. Fries = fantastic. The cajun ones are just as good. Soda machine = incredible. Where else can I get a Diet Cherry Vanilla Coke?! Counter service means we don't have to tip waitstaff which is just another bonus. And they have highchairs so we can bring the little one and not have to lug our stroller in (like so many other counter service places). A+. read more

DONT ORDER DELIVERY!!! Ordered delivery from this location via the 5 guys app. They confirmed that my order was received via text at 7:31pm with a scheduled delivery at 8:05pm. That's not bad in my opinion but at 8:00pm my order had not been picked up by the driver and my delivery time is now 8:36pm. In fear that it is getting late and I haven't eaten, I called the location to figure out what is going on. Someone answered the phone but they were clearly frantic with how busy they were. They informed me that my order had already been made and was just sitting on the counter waiting to be picked up. They had no idea where my driver was. I had ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and peanut butter chocolate shame I mean shake but both work. So now my order has been sitting out for over 30 minutes and still no driver in sight. This poor employee states they can't call the driver because they don't know who or what company is being used. They couldn't reorder a new driver or give me the information to call. I was given the offer to drive to get it but that was not an option for me. Besides, I paid an $8 delivery fee and added a tip at purchase. They said they were helping another customer which was a clear sign that this situation was not going to be resolved unless I hang up and wait for this mystery driver to arrive, cancel my order, or drive to come get the 30 minutes old shake and burger myself. I decided to be desperate and wait for another 5 minutes but ended up calling back to cancel the order. Again the franticly out of breath, yet apologetic employee screams to the manager "he wants to cancel is order". The manager then can be heard saying fine tell him I'll get to it later. This is almost a $30 order and I am still without food. They are very clearly understaffed and hectic so how can I believe a statement of "I'll get to it later". Sure Jan. At this point the employee is trying to get me off the phone In a polite while firm way but I was not having it. He transferred me to the manager to which she calmly explained the process of refunds through the app purchase which btw puts the effort of the process on the customer when it wasn't my issue to begin with. I know have to check my statements to insure that I get a refund with no proof that it was ever refunded to begin with. Anyways, she swore that she would put my receipt in her pocket to manage later at the end of the night and that I should see the refund in 3 to 5 business days. I then informed her that I would be writing a scathing review online. Instantly I was turning into a "Karen". I took a breath and had to remember that it wasn't the employees' fault. They were polite even in the stressful situation, they had made my food appropriately, they offered options, and claimed they would be correcting the transaction. I expressed my sympathy that they have to deal with angry customers with no control over the deliveries. Apparently, the driver Robert eventually picked my order up at 9:18pm and at 9:24pm was close to my house with the order. 2 hours and I am sure that shake was delicious still but it never arrived. I was expecting a frozen bag on my front porch in the morning but it wasn't there. I give the store itself and employees 4 stars being that I haven't received my refund but it hasn't been 5 business days yet. The employee recommended that next time I use a delivery app called "DoorDash" which holds its drivers accountable. I give the driver "Robert" a big old F. The word and the score. I give the "mystery" delivery company 0 stars with a strong urge that Five Guys figures this out. And in case you're wondering, I switched to DoorDash and ordered the exact same order from the exact same Five Guys and it arrived in 30 minutes that same night before the other one was even picked up. (Received a fresh order) Moral of the story, Five Guys delivery via the Five Guys App is crap so don't do use it. read more

I have had five guys all over the US but this is by far the best I have ever been to. The Five Guys cooking crew had the best communication I have ever seen at a fast food restaurant! They actually seemed to enjoy what they were doing! I heard one of the crew say they just love cooking veggies. I have to say it was the best best veggie sandwich I have ever had at five guys! Ok I am gluten free so where does a girl get a good burger and fries? Here of course! The burgers are great and topping very awesome and the fries are like fair fries soooooooo yum! I love being gluten free and getting a lettuce wrap burger plus fries are gluten free. The down side..take out they use tinfoil on the gf burgers and we are unable to eat or cut up the burger on the foil you will need to get a plate. read more

Five Guys is the best burger restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. The smaller burgers are like a regular burger, and their regular burgers are huge! I ordered an extra large fry, and they filled a large beverage cup and just threw a bunch in the bag. The staff is friendly, the food is SOOO good (I recommend the bacon burger with a chocolate milkshake and some fries), the drinks are really good, and their milkshakes are just heaven!! You absolutely HAVE to go here... BUT! They do have a whole thing of peanuts... So if your allergic to peanuts, don't eat here. You'd probably die. But honestly, if I were allergic to peanuts, it'd be worth the death to have the best burger in my life. I HIGHLY recommend this to ANYONE! Even my worst enemies, they might be jerks, but I couldn't let Five Guys slip away from them. Very good, fresh burgers! I really appreciate how the staff is knowledgeable about food allergies and are trained to shout out that everyone should change gloves as not to contaminate food. Where else can you order your burger without a bun and they ask if you have a food allergy. I wish that they gave you fewer fries. I was sooo happy when they came to Dover! I've turned friends and family into big fans. Some reviewers seem to think the prices are to high. They are higher then say McDonalds...but keep in mind you're getting fresh, good quality food in a faster more casual atmosphere then a table service restaurant. The fries are HUGE, they fill up the container then throw another handful in the bag, I always split the order with someone. Soda is free refills and they have that fun mix anything Coke soda machine. The burgers are delicious, toppings are free. There's plenty of fast food around if saving a buck or two is that important. read more

Finally got to try Five Guys after several years of hearing about the raves and compliments- and it did not disappoint. My only qualm would be the loudness and the carnival-like activity behind the assembly line that is in fact part of the process of making the food efficiently and in a timely fashion. The music overrides much of it though- and I gotta say- love those forgotten 80's tunes!- I'm not talking about the same old eighties either that are played a billion times over in the modern day on contemporary music stations. The service also is top notch. The gal at the register was very helpful in explaining the choices and management and line cooks are quick to correct any oversights with your order. The peanuts available while you await your meal is a fantastic idea- and they are very lightly salted- just perfect in my estimation. The burgers are juicy and the fries- we tried a small size of both the original and cajun- were excellent, albeit we limit greasy, fired foods in our diets- the fries are handcrafted and not soggy at all. Best of all, the value was amazing. The reviews complaining about prices are quite puzzling. Of course it is going to be more than the likes of McDonalds. But you get way more bang than the likes of Fuddruckers and less confusion and a feeling of being gouged. Why? ALL optional choices are free! Even a plain burger the same size is no more than a Fuddruckers burger. But after that, you have the option of adding anything for free- even mushrooms and bacon! Fuddruckers will inquire whether you want an additional something-or-other and fail to tell you that there is a surcharge. A similar size burger suddenly goes from $7 to $10. If we were on the go and away from home, and I rated the food to be at say, a 3 to 3 1/2 stars, I would return just based on the prices alone. read more
