The Easton Avenue location for this Five Guys is a three minute walk from both College Avenue as well as New Brunswick train station. Naturally, most of the customer traffic is Rutgers students, but I've been coming here every few months for the past 3 years to get my fix of Cajun Fries and malt vinegar.
I like this location because it has a long dining room with three types of seating options: regular-height tables and chairs, bar-height tables and chairs, and bar-height tables without chairs. The space is much larger than the Piscataway location is, so it has much better ventilation but it doesn't get as much foot traffic because of the inconvenience of parking in New Brunswick. The kitchen and grill are in the back half of the building, so if you don't want to be near grease fumes you have the option to sit in the front half of the dining room.
In addition to two Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, you'll find the iconic Gold Peak iced tea dispenser with four buttons. The condiment station has ketchup dispensers, wrapped plastic utensils, salt/pepper packets, condiment cups, and bottles of Heinz malt vinegar. To reduce waste and theft, napkins have now been moved behind the grill counter and are no longer stocked at the condiment stations. Five Guys' signature open boxes of complimentary unshelled peanuts are also available if you're still feeling peckish after finishing your meal. (Obviously, don't come here if you or your friends have any nut allergies. The fries are also made with peanut oil.)
A major update to this location is two new touchscreen self-service kiosks by the cash register that let you order from the full menu and pay with bank card or digital wallet. Currently, the $6.99 combo pricing add-on can only be processed at the cash register if you plan on ordering a sandwich + fries + drink and you want to save a buck. read more
