Ok, I like 5 Guys. Today's visit didn't disappoint. Great staff member took my order. Up beat, smiled, happy, sense of humor. Exactly what I want. She exuded "we are happy you are here." Food was as expected. For first timers, know the "Little Hamburger" means one patty not two. Lots of toppings. Good sandwich! Fries. I had light Cajun spice. When I opened the bag I immediately could smell the spices. Good choice with residual heat in the mouth. The combo meal had a small fries which is more than enough as always--as many fries spilled out of the into the bag as were in the container. Regular sized fries orders at huge IMO. Good experience. The Food is Hot and FRESH! I didn't care for the fires though maybe I wasn't feeling it. The service was a amazing, the guy asked my daughter and I if we been there before we said no and he automatically got us to understand the "Process" which was nice. He didn't make us feel dumb or get frustrated with us so that was nice. Plus this was on Black Friday. The environment was amazing great how it looked inside. It was decently clean for the most part. I have been to 5 guys in the Chicago suburbs so I had an idea what to expect. this place did not disappoint. We walked in at dinner time and the place was very busy. After a short wait in line we order our burgers and seasoned fries. the price is a littler higher tan most fast serve places but the burger is bigger and the condiments were fresh. I ordered the cheese burger "All the way" that is with everything and that means messy. Fresh lettuce a thick slice of tomato and more! We picked one of the last places to sit down and enjoyed some free peanuts in the shell while we waited a short time for our burgers to come up. The place was clean but a little noisy I am guessing due to the crowd. I would recommend this place to anyone including families with kids, we will be back. read more

Would you believe I never tried Five Guys until just a few days ago? A friend of mine always raves about their burgers, so I was glad to finally make my way over to check it out. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fried onions, ketchup, and pickles along with a soda and regular size fries (which I split with another person). I liked the fact that they had a chalkboard that notes where the potatoes that were used to make the fries that day came from (for us, it was a particular farm in Idaho that provided the potatoes). Not only was the burger delicious and they definitely did not skimp on the meat. You get some nice size patties on your burger. They were generous with toppings - which is always appreciated - and could even take things up another notch if they swapped out the american cheese for cheddar cheese. I get it, though, that they are a fast-food-like joint with many franchised locations, so I won't hold my breath. :) read more

I placed an order for a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The guy giving out orders didn't call out any numbers, so my order was given to someone else. I had order # 45 and since the guy working didn't call out any numbers, he gave my order to a guy standing closest to the counter. Then he called out #46 and looked at me. I told him it wasn't my number and that he gave my order to a customer who came in after me. He mumbled something about people not picking up their order when their number was called. As I said, he wasn't calling out numbers. I had to wait almost 45 minutes to finally get my order. Love their (expensive) food, but I won't be back. Not worth the cost or wait time because they made a mistake. The guy didn't even apologize when I finally got my order. There are plenty of other less expensive fast food joints that are just as good. read more

My first time at a 5 Guys and have to say not sure what all the hype is about. The staff was energetic and really informative about the menu, which made it easy to order. I ordered the little bacon cheeseburger, "all the way" of course, my husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and we shared a regular fry and a strawberry milkshake. I love how everything was made to order...the fries are actually fresh cut potatoes fried in peanut oil, they were nice and fresh, and the regular size was actually too large for the two of us. My burger was good, but the "all the way" with all the toppings made my sandwich kind of slimy and difficult to eat. Hubby liked his burger, and the shake was great. The thing is, our bill was around $28... everything was ala carte, and two burgers, one fry, and one shake seemed way too expensive. Glad for the experience and the food was GOOD, but not worth that kind of price. Service:Cashier was sweet and I would say genuinely enjoyed working @ 5 guys. Patient...with my indecisive self. The cook said hello to my son as well, and was very welcoming. Atmosphere: Cute enough for a burger joint and it was clean! Everything was neat an organized. Food: Took awhile to get our order, but it was worth the wait. To me it seems a bit overpriced, but I wouldn't mind going once in awhile. Fries were made to order and fresh, just lacked a bit of a crisp to them. I've had 5 guys before, so I knew what to expect...but if you've never been - Expect to pay big bucks for fast food burgers. Yes, they are a cut above McD's and BKs. but they are expensive even if you can put 9 different free toppings on them. If you need 9 toppings then you don't like the burger, you like toppings. The fries are normally pretty good taters, but today they were not so good. Not very hot, like they had been prepared within the last 30 minutes, not the last 5 minutes. Place was busy, at least 16 people working behind the counter and cleaning up the dining room. Had to share a table with other diners. If that bothers you, come at another time. Total for 2 cheeseburgers, two soft drinks and a small fries came to over $24. You can save a couple of bucks on each burger by going with the Little Burger. It will be enough and it will save you some bucks. I'm believing I can go across the parking lot to Hurricane and get a better burger with table service and be spending the same amount of dough. And the wait time will not be much more. read more

Seriously expensive burger and fries but they are good. I don't know if they are good enough for the money but the toppings are fresh, the meat is good, and the buns are big. I'd go with the junior as their standard size is a double patty and to my taste the meat to bun ratio gets out of whack. These are rather messy burgers too (depending on the toppings you choose) so don't expect to eat it while driving. They also serve hot dogs which are good but not worth the price. Their shakes are good too. If you are looking for low carb they do offer a bunless burger option where it gets wrapped in lettuce leaves instead of a bun. read more

Five Guys is a pretty solid pick if you want tasty burgers and fries. It is a chain restaurant. Very clean inside. Order at the counter. You can choose however many toppings/condiments you want so you can truly customize your burger. The fries are cooked to order from fresh potatoes and are better than average. Ask for the Cajun fries if you want an extra spicy zing. Burgers are pretty good. I give it 3 stars rather than 4 stars because the food is a bit pricey. I'm so happy Five Guys is here! I go there in Chicago all the time so I know what to expect. Very clean business, fresh ingredients, known for their generous fries (stingy compared to large cities). Customization of your burger is expected, so perfect place for people that feel bad for doing so at other fast food chains. You can see them cook so you don't have to worry about them being pissed off that you asked for no mayo or something lol. I get my burgers "all the way" with grilled mushrooms.. Heavy burger and sloppy some may say... But it's because it's so juiiicy! IF you are REAL burger eater, you would know to eat your burger upside down with the thicker top bun. Veggie sandwich and grilled cheese for the vegetarians, pretty good too. Cajun fries are the bomb, such good blend of spices and herbs. read more

It was me and my husbands anniversary so we decided to go to butcher block but we were told the kitchen was closed (wont ever go there EVER again) we drove around and finally found five guys. When we got there it was close to 10 the time they close but we were welcomed with a smile and a clean place to eat. The staff that night on June 13th was amazing and super nice. The food was pretty delicious and the toppings you can get on it are good and fresh. The milkshakes are good but they aren't the best in the world but to a night that wasnt going as planned five guys saved it from being a total bust!! read more

Come to this five guys a couple times a month and every time has been perfect. The burgers are right and delicious, as well as the fries which are extremely addicting once you start eating. Aside from the food the staff has been pretty good keeping up with the orders and getting your food done in no time. One thing they should have done at this location is made a bigger area for there drink section and away from the food pick up counter. Overall great food and staff, I plan to keep visiting here often. read more

I have been planning my visit to Five Guys after I read that 'Five Guys' makes the second best Fast Food burger and fries in the USA. I finally had a chance to visit and chose a less busy time to go; between the lunch hour and dinner time. 'Five Guys' offers a small and simple menu; burgers, hot dogs, fries, soft drinks, and milk shakes. Your cost, which is high. depends on what additions you select for your basic burger or hot dog - cheese and/or bacon, and for your burger, one patty or two on your bun. You also get your choice of assorted toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onions, mushrooms, pickles, etc. Prices range from about $4.50 to $8.00, hot dogs from $4.50 to $6.00, fries from $3.00 on up, etc. Prices are significantly higher than other fast food places. A basic meal for two will easily cost you over $20.00. Five Guys will also not offer you free water although it is available from their soft drink dispenser. Instead you are guided to bottled water at $2.00 per bottle. Peanuts are free however. So first the good news, the burgers and fries are good. They are freshly made and reasonably good. Though not as good as a burger you can get in many a higher priced casual fast-food menu restaurant where you also get good seating at a real table and table service. The burgers made here are definitely not in the upper tier of burger joints but they are good enough. At 'Five Guys' you pick up your burger at the counter in a paper bag and then proceed to find a table. Good luck with that when the restaurant is busy and you can not sit on any of the numerous high chairs. The biggest downfall of the 'Five Guys' burgers are the buns. I am amazed that Five Guys can offer reasonably good burgers but serve them on substandard buns. These buns are the same cheap buns you can get in most supermarkets, usually local label, that are tasteless, too airy, and fall apart easily. Add anything to your burger that has the least bit of liquid, such as tomato, relish, ketchup, or mayo, and the lower bun half will turn to mush before you get it to your table let along to your home or workplace with a take-away order. If Five Guys improved on its bun, this would be a decent burger even with the high prices. Make no mistake. These buns are cheap and not suitable for burgers. Perhaps other Five Guys outlets are better and the problem with this particular outlet is the local source of buns. Other restaurants like Five Guys in this area have the same bun problem. Area casual restaurants do not and serve their burgers on good bread. The other really major problem with Five Guys is the noise level. The noise level is so high, I could not talk to my companion seated right next to me without shouting. And, it does not matter if you eat inside or outside. If the intent of the ultra high noise level was to get me out the restaurant quickly, it was successful. And keep in mind that there were only 4 other customers in the facility when I was there. On a more positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful. The food is decent, though overpriced, and if they offered better buns, I would consider returning. However this is not a place I currently plan to make any repeat visits to - at least not without earplugs. And I certainly would not watn to work there. If I did I would probably end up filing for a worker's comp hearing loss claim. read more

Oh my goodness after all of the hype about 5 Guys I thought we were really in for something special. Not so much, the underwhelming experience began when we walked in the door. Its nothing special and looks like they're still under construction with boxes full of peanuts and peanut oil strewn randomly across the floor. Then I go to the counter and its like $10 for a burger and that includes nothing else for that price. So we ordered some food and then you stand around like cattle waiting for them to call your number. God forbid you come in with a group larger than two because you'll have to split up and sit at different tables around the restaurant. read more
