Extremely $$$ pricey for what you get. Also the ambient was not conducive to a relaxing experience

The decor and music choices marry the Latin-inspired cuisine with a classic Rehoboth east-coast beach sensibility. I was made to feel warm (at heart, they still have AC to keep ya cool) and welcome. The highlight was the service. The man (I believe the owner himself) was the cheeriest and kindest man I've met all week. He encouraged all of our choices and offered us to try the delicious beverages (tamarind was my favorite!) Food was served quickly and with a smile. I was very satisfied even though I must admit I kept my choice pretty standard with the Little Missionary. While just a footlong with mayo, ketchup, and mustard, it really hit the spot when I just wanted more of a plain hot dog. My friends got the Little German and Little Cock which were coated in all manner of ingredients. My friends were so content, they got another dog to go. Need a quick bite from one of the friendliest guys in Rehoboth Beach (and that's tough list to top)? Please give them a try.

Date of visit: July 30, 2025…read more Now where was I, I just left Rehoboth Beach this morning after a nights stay. Today I took RT9 north along the coast, Delaware river. All I could think about was a foot-long from the Dog House. After a great cruise and a stop at the museum at Dover Air force base I made it to New Castle. Making the merge onto RT13 I could the sign ahead of me. Parking can be tough but there was spot out front. I did notice the sign has changed, again. My father had been taking me here since 1969. It was our place to go on our Saturday trips from Jersey since it is a sales tax free state. After walking in I couldn't help notice how the inside had changed (last time here was 2021). If you think it has a nostalgic feel now, you have seen it in the '80s and '90s. They have taken down all the hand painted signage and replaced the menu board with a modern one, dang. I just hope they don't plan on franchising the place. I managed to grab a seat at the counter and in no time I was placing my order. All in all, the food is still done the same. Dogs split and grilled on the flat top and the fries are great with their own signature seasoning. If you are in the area and wanting a great foot-long or even a burger please stop in, you won't be disappointed. Peace.

The Chicago Dog would hold its own against the best Cook County has to offer (shoutout Portillos), and the Cheesesteak Dog is a legitimately delicious cheesesteak. The cheese fries also kill it. Awesome. The drinks are excellent too. The orange crush, dangerous. My brain did the Simpson's "I'm in danger" meme, because they are crushable and apparently quite alcoholic. Big time yum from me. The service is also great and really friendly. And even the bathroom is great; it's roughly 10x cleaner than you'd think for a combination bar and hot dog stand. All in all, this is a total gem.

It sits right on the southern border of town, overlooking a peaceful waterway lined with beach houses, the perfect "you've arrived" moment. They specialize in gourmet hot dogs (we are obsessed with hot dogs and fun toppings), but the menu goes way beyond that: vegetarian hot dog swaps, quinoa chili, cheesesteaks, wraps, burgers, tacos, and crispy seafood. The vibe is casual, beachy, and welcoming and leashed pups can hang out at the picnic tables on the outdoor deck. We loved it so much we ended up going back a second time. That's when you know it's good.

We just stopped in the other day. Got a couple orders of chili cheese fries for the wife and kids, I grabbed two delicious creations of hotdog and the little boy had the standard chicken tenders and fries. You can't beat hand cut, french fries and hand battered chicken tenders. The hotdog's are always solid and chili is the perfect accoutrement for all dishes. I tried the "Forget About It" dog (fun combo of cheese, chili, and bacon), plain fries, and the "Salty Balls" (buttery potatoes). Honestly, the food was just okay, but the menu is huge, and I'm hoping to try the mac salad next time. For a family-owned spot, I didn't feel that warm, welcoming vibe, and after reading the owner's responses to reviews, I wasn't thrilled. Hopefully that changes--Yelp is about sharing honest experiences. Overall, it was an okay visit. I'd give it another shot, especially to try more of the menu and the fun dog bowl presentation in person.

The menu offers breakfast sammies and dogs (Egg and Cheese; Bacon, Egg and Cheese; Sausage, Egg, and Cheese; Hot Sausage, Egg and Cheese; and, Kielbasa, Egg and Cheese), and Dietz & Watson dogs (hot dogs, hot sausages, kielbasas, and meatballs). They also have cheesesteaks, fries, cheese fries, and chili cheese fries. We tried the regular hot dog and the hot sausage; the regular hot dog had a weird pale color to it, so even after topping it with some diced onions, it was tossed. The hot sausage was enjoyed by the hubs, and he said it was spicy and had good flavor. There's a condiment table in the front, but most were out and needed to be refilled (ketchup, mustard, relish, and onions).
