I like this place over In-N-Out. The 1st time went to 5 Guys, I made the mistake of ordering a regular burger along with a regular order of fries. Too much food and I couldn't finish it. Didn't make that mistake this time around. Ordered a little cheeseburger and along with cajun fries. There so many condiments to chose from when ordering a burger so make sure you get what you want on it. The Cajun fries are awesome, but the seasoning is a bit salty. Can't complain though since it was still tasty. Be aware that even a regular fries order comes with a LOT of fries. A cup of fries basically and then some. It seems like they just cut the potato and make the fries from there. They also have one of those Coke soda dispensers where you can "customize" what kind of Coke you want. This visit I chose to drink Coke Zero flavored with Vanilla Cherry. I have to come back to check out the hotdogs here. read more

Five Guys always lives up to the hype. It is a chain that looks and tastes exactly like every other Five Guys, but the quality has yet to fail me. The burgers are juicy and delicious. The fries are always fresh and the multi choice coke machine is extremely entertaining to use. read more

After all the hype, we had to go try it. The peanut crates was interesting, didn't seem very sanitary though. We didn't understand how to order so we just ordered the regular burgers which were double patties. I got through like half of it before feeling way too full. The fries weren't very good though. WTF. Everyone tells me Five Guys can rival In N' Out. Are you KIDDING ME?! Their burgers taste like Burger King burgers... not that it's a BAD thing (who doesn't enjoy an occasional whopper?), but for the same price, I could get an amazing fresh burger meal at In N' Out and NOT feel like crap afterwards. They ran out of hot dog buns so they cut up my hot dog and put it into a hamburger bun....ugh. French fries are very soggy and overburnt. I asked the server if it's supposed to be like this and she stated, "it depends." That was an odd answer in itself. Anyway, I've been to other five guys on the east coast, and they are definitely not like this. So if she meant "it depends" on the day, the cook, or whatever, message for the five guys owner of the Burlingame location, you need seriously retrain your staff not to overcook fries, which is a v simple concept. Also, they made my husband's hamburger very soggy and falling apart upon biting. yuck! We will no longer come here if "it depends". Thank you very much. read more

Probably the best burger I have ever had for 12 bucks. The burgers are perfectly sized, you can choose the toppings you would like on your burger and it doesn't make you feel all guilty after eating it. The soda machines are futuristic and cool. Took family in after son's baseball game. Was crowded, but the line moved quickly. Ordered two burgers and two little burgers. Thought the little burgers were for kids. To my surprise, the little burgers are one patty. The regular burgers are actually two patties. Burgers were quite tasty. Got the works with pretty much everything on it. Get a lot of napkins. Fries were also tasty. If I had to compare, would choose this over In n Out. read more

Pretty good burgers and reasonable prices. Came here on a Saturday niht and it was full house. The small burger is definitely not a small. It just means one meat patty vs. two. Prices are reasonable, the drink machine is definitely a treat (lots of buttons), and peanuts for the taking. Can't come here if you have peanut allergies as they're everywhere. When I first walked in it looked like a in-n-out. The color scheme was similar and the feel of the place is similar. My hubby wanted to try this place for months now so the time finally came. The girl at the counter explain to us the menu. How the cheeseburger is 2 patties and the little cheeseburger is 1 patty. Small is not in there vocabulary. Hubby order the cheeseburger and I got the grilled cheese with bacon and BBQ sauce. We shared a large fry. First of all the soda machine is so cool! It was fun going through the different combinations. Who knew you could get 5 different coke flavors. The cheeseburger was big and juicy. Hubby loved it. My grilled cheese was very cheesy and the bacon was crunchy & salty. The BBQ sauce was just ok. I won't add it again. The fries where yummy and they give you a lot!! Had to try this place since the Burger Joint is gone. Interesting concept. The fries were way too spicy for me, so I definitely can't take the kids there. The burger was so-so. The grilled cheese sandwiches are a great mouth watering option for vegetarians. You can choose from a variety of toppings such as grilled onions and jalapenos (be careful with the jalapenos because they are raw and spicy). If you are a meat eater, the burgers are delicious, at least according to my carnivorous boyfriend. The bacon is crunchy and yummy. Good location and never too busy at least when we go on Friday nights. They give you a lot of fries and the food is really good. I usually get the grilled cheese but the burgers are also great as well. No need to get a large drink because they have free refills on side with one of the new soda machines with a million choices. Parking can be difficult and I wouldn't park in the Safeway lot which is behind it because from what I have heard they will give tickets. read more

Hooowheee! If that wasn't enough, here's more. Cajun Fries: Delicious. The fries are thick, meaty and perfectly cooked. They are seasoned with salt, parprika and cayenne pepper for that cajun flavor. Amazing. The serving size was so huge that I ended up sharing it with my friend. Too much for one person. Bacon Cheeseburger: SOrry In-n-Out. I believe this burger just might be a little better. You can choose as many condiments as you want. I had mine with lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and Cheese. OMG.... i can die a happy man now. The first time I came to 5 guys wow sooo good, second time awful. The cheese wasn't melted... In fact it was cold, you know when you used to pull a slice of craft processed cheese out of the fridge as a kid and open the funky little wrapper and pull the processed cheese out of the wrapper, it ok... BUT on a burger how unacceptable especially for a Zagat rated restaurant?. When is cheese supposed to be cold on a hamburger? Never. The fries I ordered for over $3 bucks could have fed a family of 5, could ya have some cheaper fries that cost less? "five guys" which prides itself on a less than five dollar burger cost me almost ten bucks. Fives guys I'm heading to village host for my "5 dollar burger". Or even IN-N-OUT for my fast food splurge. The restaurant itself is in a crammed space which you can tell by the looks of this newly constructed strip mall that the architect was pressured to cram as many businesses into a the corner as possible. The burgers and toppings are very fresh and as stated in other reviews one regular order of fries is enough to feed 2-3 people. Every member of my family likes their burgers done differently and Five Guys makes it easy to satisfy everyone. When you order the cash register person repeats the order to ensure accuracy. Each burger is assigned a number and when you receive your food each burger has a number sticker on it. You then can match up your specific burger with either your receipt of the copy of the receipt that comes with your order. The prices are good. A small burger is a single, which is plenty, the regular is a double patty and is a generous portion. There is plenty of public parking in Burlingame, especially behind the Gold Medal Family Center off of Howard. read more

Why didn't my husband and i go here before? We go to burlingame a few doors down to get froyo.. and haven't gone here until now. Their burgers are super moist and delicious!!! Annnnd.. all the toppings are free!!! This includes A-1 steaksauce ;) The fries are good too, and you don't need to dip it in ketchup at all. It tastes good on it's own. Customer service is excellent. The guy at the counter didn't rush us at all.. especially since it was our first time. We will definitely be back!! read more
