I like Five guys. The boyfriend LOVES FIVE GUYS. I dig that it is a fast burger and fries with out the feeling McDonalds gives me 5 minutes later. They will also make your burger with whatever you want on it. And boy do they have a lot of stuff you can put on it. "What kind of stuff?" you say? Let me tell you! Mayo, Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, Grilled Onions, Grilled Mushrooms, Ketchup, Mustard, Relish, Onions, Jalapenos, Green Peppers, A1, BBQ Sauce, and Hot Sauce. And each one is just as free as the last. If you are a true American you can add cheese and bacon too but you have to pay a little extra. I get a little cheeseburger (don't let the name fool you it is the size of a regular cheeseburger and then a regular is a double patty) with mayo, grilled onions and mushrooms. It is a big melty gooey mess of delicious love. The boyfriend gets something similar but with BBQ sauce and bacon and because he is a man an extra burger patty. I tried the hot dog once and it was a mistake. I am sure they are good for kids or burger hating, dog lovers but to me it tasted like a 7-11 hot dog. But that is what I get with messing with a good thing. Speaking of a good thing, the fries are yummy and they give you a TON. Not like, "oh they put them in a big container yay". More like they put them in a big container and then put that in your bag and go "eh...lets fill the rest of the bag up with fries to keep the burgers warm. One order is enough for a small family. I also like that they tell you every day where that days potatoes came from. And hint hint...it isn't the freezer. The inside is very clean and that is impressive because they have piles and piles of peanuts for people to eat all over the place. There are always plenty of people working and while it takes a little bit to get your food it is only because they actually cook it to order. Ever since picking up my truck in San Diego and trying out In-N-Out for the first time, I was dying to compare Five Guys to them. And honestly, Five Guys blows them away! They may not have animal style fries or animal style burgers, but you can get creative with the unlimited free toppings that they offer. Their regular portion fries is a huge order. I read the reviews on here and thought people were exaggerating but they're true. I have to disagree with what folks been saying about the burger portions cause I think they're perfect(although I always order the bacon double cheeseburger). Atmosphere here is chill. Typical fast food joint but not as crazy as the In-N-Out in SD(granted I'm in a different state and population is probably different). But all the times I've been here, there's always ample seating. Took my hubby here today for a quick bite today. (He's never been to a 5 Guys before.) I ordered a small cheeseburger with everything, minus mustard. He got a regular bacon cheeseburger, plain. We also ordered a regular fry. Food came out hot, fast and made exactly to order. Fries were a bit greasy, but consistent flavor with other 5 Guys locations. So the family stopped in for some lunch recently, and man were we pleasantly surprised! First off, the burgers are made fresh to order, with handmade patties. I ordered a basic cheeseburger with nothing fancy on it, and it was so amazing. I don't know what made it so good but I fell in love (again)! The fries are thrown into your paper bag, which is fine since you do get a lot. The fries are so too d too! They still have the potato skin, which I prefer. The drinks are free refills which is nice. The decor is contemporary but comfortable. It reminds me of a 50s diner sort of. So price wise, they are on the higher price range for fast food. Expect to pay 10 or more for a burger, fries, and drink. You pay a flat amount for the type of burger, then get all kinds of toppings that you can add for free. As a DC native, I have to admit I have an extreme bias when it comes to Five Guys. Taking that out of the equation, you are still left with one of the best burger places in the universe! The burgers are always fresh, huge, and perfectly grilled. The bag of fries you'll receive are incredible. I never bother with a large, as the small here is an extra large anywhere else. Bypass Smashburger and the Cherry Cricket (hey, at least the CC has a decent beer selection) and head straight to Five Guys. read more

I'm not a big fan considering I can cook the exact hamburger at home! Staff was friendly enough, took about 20 min. to get our food. Food was pretty good (At least I thought so), although my kids said: "They cook hamburgers just like us!" (Heh, My kids thought this was a total rip!) I'm from California so naturally I'm a big fan of In 'n Out Burger. I have even contemplated driving to their closest location in Utah so that I can get my fix. But now that I've gone to Five Guys, the long drive won't be necessary. While they're no In 'n Out, they are still pretty darn tasty! I didn't really read the menu and accidentally ordered my burger with everything, or "all the way" as they call it, and it was enormous!! A little hard to eat with all those onions and mushrooms and such squirting out all over the place. But it was still delicious and I like that the burger had a nice crust on the outside, which comes from being cooked on a flat-top grill. The fries are huge, one order is enough for two people. They also have free refills on drinks and offer both unsweetened and sweet iced tea. Oh, and they have a box of free peanuts in the shell that you can help yourself to. Best fries ever they were hot fresh slight crunch. Best of all most were really long. I swear sometimes places cut the potatoes sideways. These were so good I wanted to eat them all. Anyone that knows five guys knows that even a little fry is double most any other place. I am going out to dinner in 3 hours so had to really resist not eating them all. Will be having them for breakfast with a fried egg! Burger was fine too but just a burger. This Five Guys is exactly like every other Five Guys you will eat at, in that it has yummy juicy burgers and delicious greasy fries for a decent price. I always get a little burger and little fry instead of the regular, because I simply can't eat the insane amount of food that you get. The regular burger is a double patty, with the "little" being an everything but little single patty. A regular fry is a kin to a small tractor-trailer full of potatoes. With a drink this is all about 11 bucks. What makes it for me at this specific Five Guys is the staff. They are always super friendly and look like they don't totally hate their jobs. Five Guys v. In & Out v. Smash Burger V. In & Out 1. In and out burger is on it's own level, and is unfair to compare the two. The animal style just blows everything else out of the water... even though I would happily take Steak and Shake over both were it an option. 2. Both burgers tend to be a little greasy. These two places have the same promblem... tons of traffic, and more than likely a high turn over rate. So that is to be expected. 3. You get more for your money at Five guys than you do at In & Out. Frankly In and Out has small burgers and frys where at 5guys your portions are waaayyy to big. 4. In & Out has frys and animal style frys. 5guys has peanuts if you would rather not get the frys. V. Smash Burger 1. Where Smash Burger is more of a custom type of burger with tons of choices on everything, 5guys has more of a straight up menue. If you are more of the health nut than a burger nut 5guys might not be for you. 2. Smash burger gives you a ton of options instead of eating frys with your meal, 5guys just has peanuts (which I like). 3. Neither has a drive through, so it is sit down and enjoy. Personaly I have never seen a Smash Burger as busy as 5guys can get, so you might be little more relaxed in a Smashed. CONCLUSION 5Guys holds its own agasint both In and Out. When it comes down to choosing where to go to get a burger, it is simple. You can drive to just south of Salt Lake city for In & Out, or you can take your choice from Smash or 5 guys. It is really just a matter of preferance, however 5guys is worth a try. read more

Real meaty burgers at price that puts the drive-thrus to shame. I mean these are hefty burgers (I wouldn't dare to call them patties). These are the kind you would make on the grill, but never can get consistently right. The beauty of the Five Guys burgers are that they are fully cooked but still juicy. I stuck with lettuce, pickle, onion, cheese, ketchup, and mustard, but there are additional toppings. But who can go wrong with the traditional toppings? It's a pretty limited menu, but when you do something as well as they do burgers, why offer too many bells and whistles. For the fries, wow, they are crispy on the outside and that elusive creamy on the inside that you generally only get with home-made fries. When I get a combo at a fast-food restaurant, I am apt to only eat a few of my fries, give a few to the dogs (yeah, I know, sue me), and the rest go to waste. The fries at Five Guys barely made it home. And I went fishing for the stragglers at the bottom of the bag. I did douse them with some malt vinegar which really complimented the starchy, salty, creamy, crunchy goodness. The Parker Road location is still relatively new, so there is a wait, but while you sit around, there are plenty of peanuts in the shell to munch upon. Atmosphere? Not much, but what would you expect for a place with bags of spuds piled by the cash registers and peanut shells over the floor. When it comes to a no-fuss burger, this is the place. read more

I went on a nice date here one time, after a sad argument with my boyfriend and he took me out to eat right after and we sat down and picked out a nice table, on a cool tiring night. Five Guys has table stands with free peanuts and my partner picked out a handful of em. The burgers were giant, huge, fat and deliciously saucy. The bacon was thick and sizzling. They have the best lemonade ever. Their food saved our night and made everything better for us. The huge fast food restaurant made us want to return and try their burgers one last time. The only question that lingers for me about Five guys is....why aren't there more of them? As someone who has eaten at the Denver Burger Battle twice and who frequents burger joints, I believe there are two schools of thought on burgers. The first school of thought is the In and Out model. The second being the fancy burger model. I won't discuss fancy burgers in this review. The In and Out or old school burger operates on one simple premise. There are four types of burgers. Hamburger, Double Hamburger, Cheese Burger, and Double Cheese burger. That's it. Of course Five Guys has some sides that you can slap on, but it is still ALWAYS ABOUT THE BURGER. When you eat a Five guys burger, you know you are eating meat and you tell yourself...oh, so this is a hamburger. And I haven't even talked about the fries yet. Why every place that serves fries doesn't have malt vinegar is beyond me. These are the best fries around and they are so gluttonous about the amount of fries they pour on. NOTE: If they do not warn you ahead of time, two people can and should share one order of regular fries. The only downside is the service is slow, but I would still rather wait than eat any other burger in a fast food joint. Five Guys, I will see you again, but you guys already knew that. read more

I love peanuts, but the gimmick can only take you so far, the burgers are greasy and messy, but they load you up on fries.... To the point you feel guilty about throwing them out... The customer service at five guys on Broadway is absolutely amazing! There was some confusion when I tried to order online one day and the manager could not have been nicer or more more kind and understanding. I cannot rave enough about his superior customer service! It is a bit on the expensive side, but if you share the fries among a few people it is not that bad. I always get the little cheeseburger as it is more than enough food. If you need a burger & fries fix, this is it. We ordered the regular cheeseburgers, which have 2 honkin' big patties. I was in hog heaven (cow heaven just doesn't have the same ring to it.) because they offer A1 sauce to dress it up. Lots of other offerings and surprising they got it right. The day hubby and I were there, someone knocked the large glass tip jar onto the tiled floor. Huge crash with glass and money flying could not distract me from the fries. They looked like they might be burnt when I picked them up from the counter, but they're not - just well cooked and delish. "The Good: the burger itself and the fresh cut fries ( they had big bags of spuds on a rack in the dining room) so I am thinking they are cutting them daily, they sure tasted that way. The Bad: the bun was ok but didn't hold up so well under all the stuff they put on it. For me the burger is better with raw onions instead of grilled in this case and the lettuce wilts 30 sec after being put on (if you are going to use lettuce, go strong and use a type that will hold up to the stress, at least for a couple on minutes) The Ugly: Left out one of my orders and I didn't figure it out until I had got all the way home (when I called, the manager did offer a free meal on the next visit) Overall, I would say a fine place for a burger fix, heck I might just stop for a batch of fries from time to time (they were pretty darn good!) **Revised Review** Lowered rating to a One Star due to the managers philosophy on call in orders. Why would you wait to cook a TO-GO order until the customer showed up. The whole point of calling an order in IS TO NOT HAVE TO WAIT, and in your infinite wisdom, waiting until I get there to start my order and making me wait an extra 15 minutes (after I gave you 20 minutes before I attempted to pick up my order) is not a good idea. Compared to McD's/Burger King/Wendy's.... it's a 5. Compared to The Counter it's a 1.5 Compared to The Capital Grille or The Avenue Grill it's a 1. Everything is relative. However, for the same price as a fast food/drive thru, Five Guys offers a juicy, made to order burger with free toppings of your choice (bacon and such is extra). The fries were too limp for my taste, and way too plentiful... a smaller option would be welcome. While I'm not a big fast food person, this is the best option that I've found for a super quickie cheapo lunch ... at least in the SE Aurora area. read more

I came here for a he first time today and really don't understand why people come here. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with unions and mayonnaise and they gave me three wrong burgers! First was wrapped in lettuce. Second had pickles, ketchup lettuce and no cheese and bacon. Last was mushroom hamburger and honestly had no flavor. Coffee milkshake tasted like Mickey Dz soft serve with coffee in the bottom. read more

I lived for years across from the flagship Five Guys in Alexandria, VA and I was so stoked when they started franchising! Then I landed at this site and I was so disappointed! The fries are definitely among the best. But the burger was incredibly disappointing. First, I was surprised that the menu said all burgers would be cooked well done. I get the whole cow thing and why they won't make them rare anymore, but this is a bit extreme. Second, we took ours home and mine didn't have the right toppings. I had asked for ketchup, mustard, and mushrooms. Instead, I got ketchup and cooked onions. And the burger was very dry. The buns were also a disappointment. They had always been this yummy, yeasty almost sweet consistency. These were sesame seed and nowhere near as good. For the price, it wasn't worth it. In fact, I had one of the best burgers of my life last night for the exact same price, and I'm off to review it! PS - Maybe I hit them on an off night, but I can only go by what I saw. read more

My recent visits have confirmed that this location seems to be slipping in quality. If you claim to be a boutique burger and fries joint and your charge approximately $15 for a meal per person, you need to make sure that you are doing everything correctly. That is premium pricing for a burger and fries. The bun was stale on my last visit and this time they were unable to deliver an edible French fry - after THREE attempts. A fry should not be mushy, greasy and burned on the outside but under-cooked on the inside. Lightly fried, golden brown and cooked all the way through is what you should be shooting for. Why should I need to tell the "experts" this? When I pointed out the problem, I'm not sure I received any actual customer service. The idea, folks, is to get it right and make the customer happy. Just going through the motions and then acting like the customer is being unreasonable is not an actual solution to a problem. I'm deducting two stars for this - it's half the meal. Hopefully someone in management and/or ownership will see this review and check in on things. When this place is right, it is very right. But when it is wrong, it is obvious due to the simple ideas that make the Five Guys concept so appealing in the first place. read more

Solid burgers. Order only one order of fries, because they throw in a few hand-fulls of fries in addition into your brown-paper bag...in effect...more fries than you can eat ! The only complaint I have is the lack of green chilis for a choice on your burger. With the loss of Fuddruckers, why not have burger toppings that cover a wide array of choices? Fast food joint with a slow food mind-set. Made to order burgers, fresh cut fries. These touches really make a huge difference. Free toppings such as sauteed onions and mushrooms. Try not to go crazy with these, although its tempting. I'd say 2-3 toppings max or the thing turns to a soupy mess. Small fries are perfect for sharing between 2 people, Large feeds 4. Hot dogs are underrated here. They're split down the middle and that gives them extra crunch and flavor.... they also come with free toppings. We stumbled upon Five Guys about a year ago and have been going back ever since. I had never heard of Five Guys before and I have to say that it is a great burger place. Before Five Guys, we where going to Old School Burgers, but now we are Five Guy fans. I love the burger topping options. The hamburgers are great when dinning in but still tasty if you decide to do take out. I love the peanuts that they offer too.
