This is my closest Five guys. Five Guys burgers are f'in delicious. end of story. I always order to pick up and take home 3 minutes away. I have had unfortunately spotty service here. A couple times I have came and the workers were young and seemed lazy. One night the gentleman working the fryer didn't feel like frying any fries, so gave me one half of a cup of fries, instead of the usual overflowing cup and a half, which i planned to share the order with my BF. BF went back and got more fries that night because it wasn't the norm. Today was different, all the employees were very professional and working hard. I watched everything get made with care, watched my fries get fried and a crap ton of them put in the bag. So fresh, salty, crispy. and with some malt vinegar. y u m. I like getting the bacon cheese burgers with mushrooms and onions and mayo. So beefy, cheesy and guilt inducing. Amazing. Even if the service is spotty, the first bite of that beefy mess makes it all worth it. Five guys is kind of expensive, but that is quality for you. This one time... at Five Guys... I ordered two hamburgers with just ketchup. Just for the sake of context, this is the standard order for my kids. I try to be a good father, and teach them the joys of onions and mushrooms on burgers. Especially at a place like this, where toppings are the name of the game. But they won't hear of it. They are fussy. They like simple pleasures. And they take their burgers plain. These days, I always get the veggie sandwich, no cheese. My favorite part of the Five Guys burger is actually the bun, so a big ol' mess of grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, and grilled jalapenos is perfectly satisfying for me. When the chain had its major expansion a few years ago, the beef just wasn't quite as beefy as when I first fell in love with the place. Scaling up can be difficult. But I digress. So our order is up, and I bring the food to the table. The kids unwrap their hamburgers to find... that they were served cheeseburgers instead. You would have thought that someone had smeared the burger with snot. The revulsion at the very sight of cheese on a hamburger was palpable. And to my dismay, the kids just wouldn't eat it. One thing you should know about me, is that I despise food waste. Accidents happen. And the people behind the counter were very good about the whole thing. Not only did they offer to remake the order without cheese, but they offered me the two cheeseburgers to bring home. I was told that if I didn't take them, they would just be thrown out in the trash. So then, I had to figure out what to do with two cold cheeseburgers once I got back home. My wife wasn't into them, my kids weren't into them, and I had no real interest in eating them either. Fortunately, I came up with some interesting, and ultimately delicious way of transforming these leftovers into something delicious. Not too thrilled with this burger and fries mall location..I received a cold and bland burger along with super salty fries. With plentiful seating and parking along the Wolf Road side on the mall, I could imagine mostly movie goers, mall shoppers, and those who just want to fill up on fast food stopping in for a quick bite. The peanuts are in cardboard boxes for you to fill up on with a scoop provided while you wait for your number to be called. The soda machine is the Coca Cola Freestyle. The bathrooms located in the back of the far right side after the soda machine was not close to clean and was out of paper towels. It made me think how often do they check it? As I retrieved my order in a brown paper bag with grease showing through I sat down and took my burger and fries out on the table to enjoy. Or rather NOT enjoy, as I found a cool to touch burger and even cooler temperature bun, tomato, lettuce, ect. I'm not sure how this happened but I can tell you I wanted a burger and not some cold cut deli sandwich. I also thought my Cajun fries were way too salty and overseasoned not to mention greasy, limp, and soggy. I asked the register staff person about the temperature of my burger but all I was told was "I'm not sure" and a shoulder shrug. Maybe it's just this location for the not so thrilling experience? My wife took me here after an afternoon shopping at the mall. I loved it! Their burgers are great, though to be honest it is the many free toppings you can add to your burger to customize it which really make it special. The "regular" size fry is still too much, even for two people to share. I highly recommend the cajon seasoning that they add to the fries. And I really like how they wrap the burgers in foil, though I cannot exactly say way. I can't say the food was any better or worse than other Five Guys restaurants, but I didn't like the location as much. Because of the glass walls facing into the mall, it felt more "open" and exposed. When I am eating a sloppy burger or shucking peanuts and making a mess, I don't want people walking by and looking at me (except others in the restaurant also eating and doing the same thing)! read more

It seems like a good idea before you eat it. And the food tastes fantastic but I always regret it after. I have tried multiple locations and always the same result. Upset stomach. I throughly enjoy a Five Guys bacon cheese burger. You can select from a slew of free toppings. I get lettuce in lieu of a bun and it just tastes great. If you get fries go for a small because you get more than enough. There are big boxes of peanuts available to snack on while you wait for your order number to be called out. Extremely friendly and helpful staff with great food! After going to Five Guys for so long, my expectations for staff and the quality of food is so high most places can't even compare. Everyone working on the clock strives to keep the place clean and the customers happy, whether that's by preparing your food perfectly or conversing with you while you wait. And if they make a mistake and your order doesn't come out perfect, they are quick to fix it. Gluten free or have an allergy? No problem, just let the staff know and they can prepare your food specially for you so nothing is contaminated! In addition to the great service and the high quality burgers and fries, this location was also recently remodeled with new tables and chairs, so everything feels even cozier...especially with the booths in the back. Even though the mall closes at 9:30 (6pm on Sundays), Five Guys is always open until 10pm, so when you crave a burger after a movie, they've got you covered! Overpriced, tasteless and overrated. I had a regular hamburger that was pathetic in size and flavor. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger that tasted better, but had a hysterical amount of calories. The food is so greasy it made me feel ill. I would only ever recommend Five Guys to the severely hungover. With obesity rates where they are, America could do with out this resturaunt. Over all, a pretty average Five Guys. One of the perks of this chain is that the food is simple and quality control is superb, including this place. This location isn't as squeaky clean as others, though I suspect that has to do with the high traffic and mall location, not slothful staff. Generally, staff is on the friendly side of professional. When things get busy, a manager usually helps call out order numbers and deliver meals. As for the food, Five Guys always cooks their burgers well done. At this location their bacon has always been so crispy it veers into burned territory. On the flip side, buns are warm but not really toasted. read more

Hmmm, I tend to not bother with repeat reviews of franchises and almost never bother with mall locations, but we'd like to give a special shout-out to this particular Cinco Chicos. I believe that one thing that sets this chain apart is they have unusually chipper and cheery staff (perhaps it's all that singing along to nostalgia radio stations), but this particular location has featured even more helpful and friendlier staff than average. They've been particularly patient with the junior members of our party changing minds/orders, making messes, and coming up with special requests, and I haven't even gotten a whiff that we were putting them out one bit. (I contrast this in my mind's eye to the time we asked for a boy's toy instead of a girl's toy at a particular McYuckyFastFood chain when ordering the "Happy" meal, and you'd have thought I had told the clerk I was going to date his mother and sell his dog.) Holding out on that fifth star for when they get In-and-Out style milkshakes, at which time there will be a star for every guy, but in the meantime, tippy-top four stars. read more

I don't often come into many Five Guys restaurants and just buy an item or two. But when I came into this store yesterday and just bought a bottled water, I could tell from feelings just how much I wanted (and craved something else) but knew I didn't have enough on hand to pay for more than just the bottled water alone (which I paid for in cash). You see, I"m an Uber driver, and though my ridership where I'm from an hour away has dwindled, I came up here early yesterday and tried to spot out more riders. But as I sat around the more I realized that "I'm not getting riders near here as well (this was 10am and there was no Surge at all in this area), so tried DoorDash instead. Knew that I wouldn't have the feature for instant pay (like I do on Uber) since I'd be completing my first few requests, had little in my bank account (too few to even consider trying to use) and had only a few dollars in my wallet. As I went to reach for a water jug in the bucket of ice on the counter, I mentioned how that was the only thing I was buying and handed the employee my $5 bill. He mentioned (although the receipt says someone else entirely's name) it's subtotal and handed me my change. I took it out to the chairs just outside the restaurant since that was the place where I and a few others were meeting (I've been in here before and noticed just how hot it gets in here and it's generally not pleasant.) Perhaps in a few weeks I'll be back to see for the remainder of the experience, but don't mind my little-presence with little hope to stop you from whatever you do the next time I come in:I'm just like everyone else you serve and hope to be treated that way! I've come in to several of your other locations nearer me, but few times have I come in here and bought anything more than a water or similar (soda). Let's hope for the best the next time. I was in Colonie Center location this morning and it was quiet just before lunch. I'm sure an hour later it was packed. I know it's not the best thing in the world for me to be eating but on occasion I enjoy it. No doubt they have the best hamburgers of the other franchise chains. All made to order and fresh and hot with a wide choice of toppings. Snot/Muscus all over the nuts...the employees failed to throw out the box...much less even check them to see if they were bad. Five Guys is my family's favorite burger place...BUT...I can only give this location one star due to today's experience. We got nuts and were chomping on them while waiting on our food when we discovered mucus all over the peanuts. I took them to an employee to bring it to their attention. That employee apologized, told me to throw them away and directed me to get nuts from the other side of the restaurant. I have now been in the store for over 30 minutes and no employee has even checked the box of nuts to see if there was an issue nor throw them out.
