Regular Fries

Five Guys simply has some of the best burgers and fries you can get. A Five Guys burger is warm and fragrant and juicy. A Five Guys burger is soft and nonthreatening. It personifies the Great Mother herself, who has nourished us from the beginning. Five Guy's burgers are an icon of layered circles, the circle being at once the most spiritual and the most sensual of shapes. Additionally, the fries at Five Guys are the best. They're freshly cut and have tremendous flavor. Ergo, this Five Guys location is as good as any other. The food is always hot and fresh. The employees are friendly and the food is done fairly quick. On top of, Five Guys has delicious shakes. The shakes are creamy and thin, just the way I like them. On the other side of the coin, some people complain about the prices, which is just ridiculous. A Five Guys burger is $7 and the fries are about $3. For the size and taste of this food, that is more than fair. Tersely, Five Guys has phenomenal burgers and French fries.

Not too thrilled with this burger and fries mall location..I received a cold and bland burger along with super salty fries. With plentiful seating and parking along the Wolf Road side on the mall, I could imagine mostly movie goers, mall shoppers, and those who just want to fill up on fast food stopping in for a quick bite. The peanuts are in cardboard boxes for you to fill up on with a scoop provided while you wait for your number to be called. The soda machine is the Coca Cola Freestyle. The bathrooms located in the back of the far right side after the soda machine was not close to clean and was out of paper towels. It made me think how often do they check it? As I retrieved my order in a brown paper bag with grease showing through I sat down and took my burger and fries out on the table to enjoy. Or rather NOT enjoy, as I found a cool to touch burger and even cooler temperature bun, tomato, lettuce, ect. I'm not sure how this happened but I can tell you I wanted a burger and not some cold cut deli sandwich. I also thought my Cajun fries were way too salty and overseasoned not to mention greasy, limp, and soggy. I asked the register staff person about the temperature of my burger but all I was told was "I'm not sure" and a shoulder shrug. Maybe it's just this location for the not so thrilling experience? One star for the availability of seating and one star for the short wait for getting my order.

This guy is a master of the frier. Get the fries.

We had a bacon cheeseburger and a bacon cheese dog. Best hotdog I ever had. Had the burger toppings in it. Best hotdog ever. And the frier master made their great fries. Best burger in the capital district. And the hotdog.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff with great food! After going to Five Guys for so long, my expectations for staff and the quality of food is so high most places can't even compare. Everyone working on the clock strives to keep the place clean and the customers happy, whether that's by preparing your food perfectly or conversing with you while you wait. And if they make a mistake and your order doesn't come out perfect, they are quick to fix it. Gluten free or have an allergy? No problem, just let the staff know and they can prepare your food specially for you so nothing is contaminated! In addition to the great service and the high quality burgers and fries, this location was also recently remodeled with new tables and chairs, so everything feels even cozier...especially with the booths in the back. Even though the mall closes at 9:30 (6pm on Sundays), Five Guys is always open until 10pm, so when you crave a burger after a movie, they've got you covered! Although all Five Guys locations are held to a certain high standard by corporate, the Colonie Center location is definitely one of the best around, all things considered.

Mystic Momo - Pork Momo (Kothey)

Mystic Momo

The location is also very interesting, right by the monument near Henry Johnson Blvd. and (usually) a fascinating people watching spot as the place has good windows. The service was ATROCIOUS. We were the only two people in the restaurant, and it was right around 1pm on a Saturday (I think). Peak lunch hours. The employees stared at us when we walked in as if we had just walked into their living room unannounced. They proceeded to visibly mill around the small place as we waited to put in our order for tea to start. It took a good 10 minutes, and another 10 minutes to get water and finally place our order. Fast forward about 20 minutes, and four employees sat down at a table in the restaurant and proceeded to eat their own lunches together in silence, oblivious to the fact that it's peak lunch time and they had just TWO customers in the place with a very simple order. Finally we get our food, clearly "interrupted" by having to bring two plates to the table, which as I said, was very good - but it was hard to not be annoyed by the wait time and lack of attention. ASTONISHINGLY, they kept eating in silence and not even looking up. We finished and sat there looking around, trying to get their attention. Not even so much as a glance. Finally I stood up and politely asked if we could please have the check, as we needed to leave. One of them sauntered to the back without a word, handed us our check, and we finally paid and left. I was absolutely stunned. I have worked in a variety of restaurants myself when I was younger, and I cannot imagine sitting down among the patrons and taking a leisurely lunch with the other servers while there are customers in the dining area. I have a lot of compassion for people working in the restaurant industry because I know how difficult it can be to work with the public, but seriously - not even looking up ONCE to see if we needed anything?! It's also decidedly NOT a cultural thing, as I've been to Nepali restaurants before as well as a variety of authentic ethnic places and have never experienced anything so blatantly disrespectful to paying customers. I know it sounds like I am exaggerating, but I'm really not (or I wouldn't even be writing this review). It was unbelievable. Verdict: ORDER TAKEOUT. If it is like this all the time, this business is absolutely blowing a great location for a cute little place.

Finally trying the Mystic Momo! All I can say is yummm!!! So much flavor in each variety of Momo! I…read moreloved the orange dipping sauce too. I may have drank a little of it! My favorite flavors were the beef and the paneer but they were all good. The chicken keema noodles were also so good and filled with crunch and flavor. It's not like a boot camp chow hall but more of a casual BBQ spot where you can spin on a sweet tea and enjoy some ribs. The restaurant is decorated with items from all branches of the military as well as the local police and fire department. It's nice to see there's pride for the Armed Forces as well as the people who serve and protect. I stopped in for lunch. I know I'm going to BBQ the next day so I pass on the brisket and I ordered the grilled shrimp. The counter person tells the the cook one order of Grilled Shrimp and in about a minute I had my plate. I grabbed a sweet tea, sat in a booth and enjoyed my lunch. Mission BBQ? That was a fantastic lunch! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. Mike Charlie

Mission BBQ seems to be a fast growing chain. I have enjoyed their food in Cincinnati, Connecticut…read moreand New York. The prices seem a little too high for the portions received. Last time I ordered the three meat sampler for $22. There were two small pieces of brisket (each about 2 inches long) two small slices of sausage and a cup size of pulled pork. This price did not include sides. The service is great and the atmosphere is typical of all other Mission BBQ I have been in but this location seems to be more strict on portion control. I see everything being measured on the scale which is not a bad thing, every business needs to make money but in my opinion the price did not justify the meal. Pulled pork was great, brisket was moist and tender and the extra sides I ordered were good so no problem with the food.

First of all, let me tell you, this little food court in the Empire State Arterial Mall is cool as all get out!. I had no idea there was anything inside this structure other than the parking garage because most of the time I am hanging on the roof which is the ground level of Empire State Plaza with reflecting pools and this time of year, an ice skating rink. Now back to Herbie's, nearly every on the menu has a vegan counterpart. The burger patties are homemade and really good, no processed Impossible burgers here! The shake was really good, the birthday cake flavor was a special this month and although they ran out of rainbow sprinkles the flavor was still delicious. I love that hint of tahini! The cashier was very apologetic about not having sprinkles but it was totally cool. You can't go wrong with shoestring fries and the large size is enough to share. If you have never been, check it out. This location also offer new chicken bites and has a coffee bar.

A recent visit to the Empire State Plaza offered the perfect opportunity. The restaurant was clean. The staff was friendly. It was Halloween so they were all dressed adorably. I think that I was served by a cowgirl and a vampire. It took a few minutes to make it pretty much from scratch. I got a basic Herbie's Burger: one patty with special sauce, lettuce, tomato and pickle on a bun. The business is open for breakfast. We got there just as lunch was starting to be served. There was no line. I liked my burger. It was better than most fast food chains. My husband who came along got the same thing. I'm not sure why my stomach started gurgling afterwards. It's true that I'm not used to eating much red meat. My husband who is a bonafide carnivore said he got an upset stomach afterwards but he's not sure if it was directly tied to having a burger. Within an hour, we were both fine. I wonder if it's got a higher fat content that I'm not accustomed to. I still think Herbie's Burgers are pretty good.
