They can find excellent products in difficult to locate sizes and they are extremely helpful. My son just informed me that he cannot make it through another week of work without new steel toed boots. Luckily, I remembered that VDB keeps records of prior purchases. I called VDB. Lane answered the phone. He immediately pulled up the prior purchase. Let me know that steel toed boots are in short supply and that that particular model has been discontinued. He was able to track down a pair and it will be shipped to the store within 72 hours. He reminded me that we also purchased inserts, which make a huge difference to my kid's feet. And got the whole the organized so that he will be calling my son and all he has to do is show up and pick up his shoes when they arrive. I purchased from Soma different items and paid with PayPal. Before the final click completing the purchase Soma tells you clearly returns for items purchased online with PayPal must be returned by mail. Perfect I understand before I complete the transaction my return options. Now onto Loft. I purchased three items online. All beach coverups. I then went to return all three. I attempt to use the online system however Loft has designed the online return procedures to make it as difficult as possible. But I note it will cost me $ 7.95 to return by mail and free to go to the store. Once in the store I deliver my unworn items with tags in the original packages. I am told swimwear cannot be returned in the store. I am forced then to pay the return fee and once again try to navigate a deceptive system designed to frustrate a consumer and thus the Return is never complete. That's my first issue. When you are shopping on line it is not made even remotely clear the return policy. Frankly you have to go to three areas of the website to see what the return policy is on swimwear. On the receipt finding the policy at the bottom in the smallest font possible again hides the policy. I find this appalling. Surely all retailers have their own policy. However consumers should be able to understand the policy in a clear openly designed system. I will pay the return costs. I will never shop at Loft, Ann Taylor or any of their companies again. I've frequented the area for quite a few years and can say they the businesses that lease here change fairly often. Shopping choices do seem to be catered to a certain [middle age] crowd. The outside lawn area is a really good spot to hang with family and friends; during the warmer seasons they'll have swinging benches and a nighttime concert series with live bands. During the colder seasons, they transform the area into an ice skating rink. If you like farmers/flea markets, stop by early fall mornings - lots of good vendors for jams, candles, pet goods, etc. Lately they have been enforcing the chaperone/minor curfew policy. I think it helps keep the vibe family friendly and makes the place feel secure.
