It's 50/50 if you get your delivery on time from an online order. It's even less than that if you order a shipping delivery and pay with Walmart Rewards. Lately, you don't get your shipping delivery at all. You'll get a message stating that your address needs to be updated (MA) and they may or may not replace the Walmart Cash rewards. Those "rewards $$" go somewhere, now, don't they. Prices at this particular Walmart (Petrie Ave, Baltimore, MD) are 75% higher than the three other grocery stores within the same radius. For example hamburger may be on sale for $3.49 - $3.99 within the three other stores, while this Walmart has theirs at $6.99-$8.99. Gosh, think, think, think, Oh I don't know...hmmmm, with whom shall I place my order? I guess I'll just have to sleep on it. I'd call them "customers," but who are we kidding? Carts are rolled out, bypassing checkout through side doors, even emergency exits, with employees throwing up their hands standing at the edge of a sidewalk like it's an Electric fence. Seriously? When you pull in and the first thing you see are cops parked out front (apparently a permanent fixture there), you know it's not good. It's Wal-Mart. I've been in some bad Wal-marts. This is THE worst. Don't wonder why there are no self-check-out stations. Look around at the clientele. It is GHETTO. If you don't get high from the second-hand weed smoke, you may get shivved for a buck. The only reason I stopped is they had an item that was out-of-stock everywhere else. I ordered it with pick-up, but good luck: all 5 pickup spots were occupied when I arrived. I needed windshield wiper fluid, so I figured I'd run in real quick. My mistake. I had to push my cart around ten teens just "hanging out". Every single one looked at me like I was wrong for trying to walk IN the ENTRANCE side. The aisles are in total disarray. Items are everywhere, whether they belong in that department or not. Packages are opened and thrown back on the shelves. Sure, the clientele has a lot to do with that, but it's a SUPERCENTER. They should have way more security staff than a regular-sized Wal-Mart. I will say the one Associate who helped me was very friendly and cordial. The rest of the denizens shopping there, not so much. Manners and courtesy were not in their upbringing, but that's Baltimore for you. Management needs to start taking control. Teens running around acting like fools can be stopped from entering. You check people's receipts when they leave; start vetting the people that come into your establishment. If they look and smell like homeless bums who don't have money, they probably are. When I finally found an open check-out line that didn't have 20 people in it with their carts filled to the rim with EBT gifts, the woman in front of me told me she was holding the place in line for the guy behind me. He had about 50 items in his cart. I had three. Do you think she even considered letting me go ahead of her so I could get out before they started ringing up their essentials (beef jerky, orange soda, t-shirts, etc.)? Nope. This is hands down 1 of the worst Walmarts in the Baltimore area. Their money order machine is constantly down, they constantly have long lines at checkout due to slow cashiers (most of the time), the shelves in the aisles are either half stocked or not at all. Ask one of the staff where an item is, they look around like they're lost and reply, "I don't know" versus ,"let me find someone who works in that department, to help". They honestly need to install self checkout because this location is a Super Center and can support 2 self checkout points. read more

I ended up giving and left with just a few Mother's Day cards. However, when I got to the registers, they had 5 of 22 registers open. The lines were down the aisles. I needed some Dove soap so I asked one of the associates about getting the case unlocked and they lied and said that was done at the register. After standing in line for over 25 minutes, I get to the cashier and she advised me that I could not get the soap from there. I had to go to my car, put away my bags of the stuff that I just bought and go back into the store and have a fit. This was such a waste of my time. Though not what I typically judge a Walmart on, this needed to be addressed. I could have performed a caesarean section on a woman pregnant with triplets in the rear bathroom, and I feel the process would have actually left it cleaner than when I walked in... and I'm not even a doctor. Also, it's possible I could have traveled to Google headquarters, in California, and gotten a quicker response than doing a Google search using the wifi here. The store itself is a very strange setup. I travel cross country as part of my profession, and this place is truly bizarre. 3 out of 24 registers open at 7am on a Sunday isn't super uncommon. However their aisles are super narrow, and resemble the areas of a prison where one might get shanked. The outside is brand new, but one look at the inside makes it obvious this was a remodel, and they simply put a new shell over dank cesspool. read more

I do my weekly shopping at Walmart. I utilize the Walmart Pay and Savings Catcher applications for faster transactions and coupon savings. My husband and I recently moved to Rosedale and it's hard to justify driving to the Nottingham location, when the Rosedale location is less than five minutes away. The parking lot is a madhouse, but I typically park very far back near the side exit, to avoid having to drive back through the entire parking lot, and also because I do not mind the extra steps, though I understand that not everyone is so fortunate to have their mobility. The store is usually clean and organized, however I have noticed that the patrons at this Walmart in particular tend to pick up items and then sit them down in areas where they do not belong. Nonetheless, my husband and I are generally able to find all of the weekly grocery items that we need. I have contemplated trying out Walmart Grocery Pickup, as it seems like it would be especially helpful in this case with the long lines, but I really enjoy choosing my own produce and don't trust that I wouldn't be given soggy grapes, or beat up apples. The lines are really long. Like almost laughably so. I'm a pretty patient person. Give me my phone or someone to talk to and I can wait in almost any line-customer service, airports, grocery stores, you name it, but this Walmart location really takes the cake on long lines. My husband and I have attempted to go close to closing time, and sometimes that is better-it is most certainly better for parking, as the parking lot tends to be pretty empty at this time. Basically there is no guarantee on waiting times and that really makes the shopping experience quite unpredictable and unpleasant. Aside from the lines, I really do not have many other complaints. Items are usually stocked and the deals are good for everyday necessities. This has to be the most disorganized Walmart I have ever been to. I usually will swing by late in the evening to avoid the crowds, but that didn't help at all. I needed an item that was locked in an electronics case, but I could not find a single person working in the area. When I did find someone (a stocking associate) they informed me that the person with the keys is working the front register. Ok, not a big deal, so I headed up front. Well, true to Walmart fashion, they had ONE lane open and a TON of people in line. I'm not sure how Walmart expected this associate to just up and leave the front of the store to go unlock the cabinet for me. I love Walmart. I never knew about Walmart until the mid-eighties, and since then, I've always thought highly of Walmart and the Sam Walton legacy. This particular Walmart is one of the largest around. The sheer amount of product and inventory, especially now it is a Supercenter with food, that this store stocks. While there have been numerous times that I wasn't able to find what I wanted, this Walmart is one of my "Go To's" when I want to buy some general household goods or home improvement type stuff. The one complaint that I have is the parking. People drive like a newly licensed teen around here and there never seems to be enough parking. The arteries to get in and out are always blocked like a fat old Italian mobster heart waiting for cardiac arrest.
