Please do not give this store your business, because the managers here are extremely rude. I have…read morespent a lot of money at this location over the years and have also donated generously to their charity. Yet, because it was only one minute after closing, the lady I believe was the manager refused to let me check out and said, "We closed 1 minute ago." Today is March 17, 2026, and this happened at 7:01 PM. I went to Job Lot just before closing and had a basket full of merchandise ready to purchase. At 7:01 PM, a lady who I assume was the manager came up to me and told me the store was closed. I politely asked if I could simply check out the items already in my cart, but she told me absolutely not because they had closed 1 minute earlier. If you review the security camera footage and timing, you will see that it was literally 7:01 PM. This Job Lot is only 2 minutes from my house, and I have been a loyal customer for many years. After the way I was treated today, I will no longer shop there. I also plan to share this experience with my friends, family, and Facebook community, because what happened was unprofessional, disrespectful, and very disappointing.

Let me get through summer please before you start pushing Halloween on me. At the very least, if you're going to push the next holiday, offer deep discounts, and incentives to come in and buy those things. I'm still shopping for summer and seeing Halloween may be a little down in the dumps to be honest. We're not even at Labor Day yet. On the other hand, I did find what I needed, which was a large planter for my front steps. It had some damage to it so they did offer me a discount which I appreciated. That actually sealed the deal because the damage could be placed to the back and out of sight.

Bath and Bodyworks does not like to rectify their mistakes. I visited the Middletown, NY store…read moretoday to purchase some candles. I saw on the app that they had 3 wick Mahogany Teakwood candles for $6.73, in store they were $26.95. I was told by the cashier that in order to get them at the lesser price I would have to go on the app and have the candles shippped. When I placed my order for 4 candles through the app I got a message stating not in stock. I then changed my order to store pickup and got the message saying out of stock, yet the shelves were filled. I spoke to the store manager showed her the app screen and was told there is a glich in the app and if she changed the price she would get in trouble. If the app is malfunctioning they should fix it but give me the 4 candles at the price that was on the app.

Line 7 deep at the register…read more THE register. Fortunately, one of the three people standing at the open register managed to take enough time out of his berating and belittling another employee behind their back to the other two employees at the register, one ringing one doing absolutely nothing, to call up another cashier who managed to move slightly faster than a paraplegic sloth. Three employees...standing at a register...one barely ringing because she's so involved in the conversation, one doing nothing but participating in the gossip and a third who is apparently a floor supervisor, belittling the work of one of his employees to subordinates and in front of a line of customers. One of the most disgusting displays of poor retail training and service that I've seen in years. And I was a retail manager, trainer and HR person for decades.
