I've never had bad interactions with the staff. The greeting card selection is pretty awesome. All sorts of cards for any occasion. $1.25 or less. Plus they have multipack thank you cards, blank cards, and party invites. I get my gift wrap, tissue wrap, and gift bags here as well. Speaking about gifts, they carry glass flower vases $1.25. Perfect to place those flowers you want to gift to someone without breaking the bank. Helium foil balloons are $1.25, way cheaper than the grocery store. Another favorite of mine is the candy and snack aisle. I go a bit overboard, always. For $1.25, it at least lessens the monetary guilt but not so much with the caloric guilt. But not all products are worth buying even at $1.25. I don't recommend buying any office supplies here though. The faux post its don't have sticking power. The majority of pens run out of ink after a few uses and might bleed ink when writing.

She told me I could receive a discount if I simply answered "3 questions." Before agreeing, I specifically asked multiple times if this would affect my credit or involve a hard inquiry, especially when I noticed it was asking for my Social Security number. Each time, she clearly told me no, and said it was "only for rewards/Discount." Shortly after completing the questions, she said, "Congratulations, you've been approved for a $500 credit line," which was completely unexpected and not what I agreed to. I never intended to apply for a credit card. Because of this, a hard inquiry was placed on my credit report, and I had to immediately call and close the account. This experience felt misleading and dishonest. Regardless of experience level, customers should be clearly informed when they are applying for a credit card, especially when it impacts their credit. Transparency is extremely important, and this was not handled properly. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures employees are properly trained so this does not happen to others.

Located directly on Madison Ave and adjacent to Hazel Ave at the Madison Marketplace shopping center in Fair Oaks, this TJ Maxx store has been in operation dating back to around 2008-09. It neighbors many major retailers such as Raley's, Dollar Tree, Jamba Juice, Chipotle, and much more. On any given day, the parking lot can fill up quickly but in the few dozen times I have shopped here, I have not had any issues. As for the hours of operation, they are open 7 days a week from 9:30am-9:30pm. Upon entry, you will notice how open, well-lit, and spacious the interior layout is. The registers and checkout are to the immediate left while the fitting rooms are in the middle right hand side of the store. And if you need to use the restroom, they offer both a men's and women's restrooms towards the rear part of the store. As for the merchandise itself, TJ Maxx specializes in a variety of men's, women's, children's, and baby apparel as well as shoes, socks, hats, and loungeware. Additionally, their selection of beauty products, handbags, jewelry, accessories, and luggage is quite impressive. Finally, they carry a decent amount of home products that include candles, towels, sheets, comforters, bath, kitchen, furniture, outdoor items, and even a very sizable amount of food products. I have found TJ Maxx to be the hybrid store as they have much of what Marshalls offers (at slightly higher prices) as well as HomeGoods (at slightly lower prices). To sum things up, the Fair Oaks "TJ Maxx" is one of their better locations in the greater Sacramento area. I've purchased a ton of name brand apparel over the years. This includes major labels such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Bahama, Adidas, Polo, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, and much more. And considering you're paying much less than you would be at say a Macy's or Nordstrom, your money can go much further. When you factor in the above average customer service, reasonable prices, well-stocked merchandise, and a decent shopping experience, I am giving them a respectable four-star rating.

Came in yesterday evening (7/25/2026) with my sister and we shopped around for a bit. I've been to this store before a few times but only ever with her. I've heard the nonsense of them trying to sign me up for a card or whatever before. The last time we were here, I signed up for their card. I have a hard time saying no, which is the only reason why I signed up, and I didn't get approved. Which if fine, I wouldn't have used the card anyway. My sister and I check out separately, she goes to one register and I go to another register. The lady ringing me up had short black hair and glasses and was really nice for the most part. She tried to sell me on the sign up for the card. I told her, "no thank you." She tried to give me an example of why I should sign up and how it would benefit me. I told her, "I tried before and was told no, so I don't want to bother with it today and get rejected again. Maybe I'll sign up some other time!" She continues on pushing for me to sign up. A coworker overhears what she is saying to me, and urges me to sign up in store and then if I get rejected to go online and request to have it looked at or something. Genuinely, I'm not kidding, the woman working this register tried for 10 minutes to get me to sign up. I told her no repeatedly and she just kept telling me why I should do it. She would tell me how customers told her this and that, how they've saved hundreds of dollars on this card, how it's free money, ect. I have really bad social anxiety. Like I said before, I have a hard time telling people no. This was an absolute nightmare for me. I just wanted to ring up my items and leave. I honestly should have just left my items and left the store entirely. I cannot believe how much time was spent trying to pressure me to do something I didn't want to do. And I said no! Many times! How many times do I have to say no? I was trying to be nice. I was nice the entire time. This woman was nice the entire time as well, but she was heavily pressuring me to sign up despite me saying no OVER AND OVER AGAIN. The real kicker of this all too, was that my sister didn't even get asked if she wanted to sign up at all. I guess I should have just sticked with her and rang my stuff up with her. Please let your workers just accept no for an answer. This was a nightmare. I never want to shop here again. I left the store having a near breakdown in my car because genuinely, it is so hard for me to have interactions like this where I am being pressured and I have awful social anxiety and just anxiety in general. All right, I gained a few pounds and haven't refreshed my clothes in a couple years. So off to Old Navy. Keep in mind, for the past year I've been laying low and mostly online shopping. But it's time to venture out safely. This Old Navy location is in a shopping center with a huge parking with tons of spaces. Right when I stepped in, there was a standing automatic hand sanitizer dispenser.There are signs asking customers to wear masks; all the staff were and most all the customers. Prominent 6 feet floor markers line the cashier queue. There is plexiglass between you and the cashier. There is a bottle of hand sanitizer next to each card machine at checkout. The floor inventory and displays were tidy. They had several staff on the floor arranging clothes, staff in the fitting rooms putting away clothes, and enough cashiers to move the queue quickly. The staff that I spoke with were gems; helpful, friendly, and efficient. Anyway, the day I dropped in women's shorts were $15 a pair, Tshirts and tops were $10-12. Great! I patiently looked through the piles of shorts to find the right inseam lengths and size. I had to try on 2 different sizes to figure out my best current fit. The fitting room staff was super helpful. I even bought a belt with the vow that I'm gonna lose the extra gained pounds and therefore a belt is needed because my shorts will become loose. (Haha. Wishful thinking) Tips: (1) You can find items online to have a better sales pricing and have them shipped free to the store for pickup; you can even return the mailed items in store or ship them back. (2) You can sign up for rewards program.

It was my first ever visit to this Daiso. That was a couple of months ago. I have been back several times since. They have a full inventory of of an average Daiso shop. For folks unfamiliar with Daiso, it is the Japanese version of the American $Tree and other like discount shops. Most items sell for $1.75 and nothing more than $5. ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL. But what sets them apart is that Daiso sells inexpensive Sanrio themed items. Things like mini pouches, mugs, cups, hair clips, stationary, cupcake paper cups... and so on with characters of Hangyodon, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, My Melody, Hello Kitty, and the gang. Last weekend, it was warm in there. The outside temp was in the 90s. It was so muggy, I needed to cut my trip short. I bought a short handle broom and sweeping pan that snap into each other. As I was checking out, I asked the cashier if something was wrong with the air conditioning. She said it was turned on. She too must be overheated. I hope that they get the AC up and running to cool at a lower temp. The summer heat is upon us.
