We were excited to finally try 504 kitchen. I took the family for dinner last night, for my wife's birthday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we waked in, there was a faint mold smell (water damaged building?), several flies buzzing around (gross), and there was only one other couple there (why was it dead at 6:15pm on a sunday night).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After ordering dinner, they brought my daughter's drink with a straw already inserted into the cup top, which had an ant crawling on the straw. While waiting for our dinner, we noticed the wait staff had their water bottles on the prep area (not sanitary) and were on their phones (phones are one of the dirtiest things you can touch). I didnt see anyone go to the restroom to wash hands before delivering our food. The wife and I ordered the salmon dinner, which we both thought was not very flavorful (there are two local restaurants that have a better, more flavorful salmon dinner). The kids ordered fried chicken, which was good. We were going to order dessert, but were so turned off by everything, we declined. Lastly, I asked the server what the "additional charge" on our bill was and she didn't know. I then checked the menu and saw they charge 3% when using a credit card. The server should have known what that charge was for. Overall, not a positive experience and we will not go back. I feel bad my wife spent her actual birthday there. read more

The food was not over fried for tacos and the flavors that marinated the entrees were really lovely. For a new restaurant this had a wow factor with the drinks mixology and real mint,thyme, and unique flavors were wonderful too ! The ceviche I would rival the Caribbean ceviche and the fresh fish was truly fresh considering we live in the middle of the country. Met two girlfriends here for brunch. None of us live in the area but we picked it based on the reviews. I had high hopes but didn't have a great experience here. the service was slow slow slow, leaving coffee to go cold repeatedly. 45 minutes after we ordered the waiter told us they had run out of fruit for the fruit crepes two of ordered. The alternate options offered Weren't great. I basically paid 14 for an empty crepe with whip cream on it and left hungry. I had been wanting to try their brunch menu so a few of us went last weekend and I was really surprised to be so disappointed. The server was great - but the food... the food was quite like cafeteria food. I figured, it's an off day, I'll try to go back for dinner next week. Thursday evening, a friend and I are seated and provided menus. There were only 4 main dishes being offered and none sounded appealing. I asked about the chicken parm and we were told they changed the menu. We ended up leaving without ordering. I don't know what happened - heard there's a new chef, heard there's a new owner. My wife found this place in Glen Ellyn and decided on dinner to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. I must say that we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation of the locally sourced food. The ambiance was quiet which should be expected for a Sunday. The dinner menu is limited and portions small but I assure you that you will leave satisfied. The cocktails was very good and innovative. I ordered the 7 course Chefs tasting menu and my wife had the Tetela appetizer and Branzino as her main course. The presentation of the food is like being served at a five star French restaurant. The food was the right temperature and the taste played symphony on your palate. It's that good folks. From the server to the chef, everything was on point. We were really excited to try this place out today and what a disappointment! This is the worst experience I had in a long time. I went with my girlfriends and when the order came they only dropped off two dishes and left without telling us anything about the third dish. The two dishes were barely warm. 15 minutes goes by and still nobody approached our table about the missing dish. We had to flag our server down who had no explanation for us she said the food was coming. Another 10 minutes goes by and the food arrived and everything was wrong with the order which also included the food allergy product melon that we told the server about. They remade the dish and it was still wrong. The manager did not handle this right and customer service was just awful. I would never go back. read more

Went for brunch and got a breakfast sandwich. It was delicious and too large for me to finish. My friend got a wild mushroom crepe which was rolled up like a burrito but she still enjoyed it. The service was great, our waitress was kind and made great recommendations. The place itself is very cute. Will have to return to try more food on the menu. read more

My husband and I decided to try this place out and it was highly disappointing. The cocktails were okay but the food was mediocre. We started with the Korean short rib buns and it was a miss. Overly salty and the flavors did not mesh well together. I ordered the pad thai with chicken for my main course. I am not sure why they decided to call this dish pad thai, but it did not look or taste like pad thai. The noodles were thin and not your traditional wide pad thai noodle. The chicken had zero flavor and had a strange texture. The whole dish was very bland. I took 2 bites and could not even take another because it was just that bad. We asked for the check and the waitress did not ask how the food was or ask if I needed a box, which was fine because I wasn't going to take the leftovers home anyway. Maybe it was an off night or we ordered the wrong thing, but I would not come back to this place. There are much better options in the area! read more

Great bathroom, I was nicely greeted once I walked in and shown the bathrooms when I asked. They have like 3 all gender bathrooms and when I went in there was hand automated soap and paper towels, but no automated toilets; which is great because they usually flush before you're done or even get near it. The bathrooms are so clean I could lick the floor(not sure why I would) and not get sick, I love a good bathroom and they have it, so if you don't have anywhere to do your business go here! read more

We had a party of 8 for breakfast. Every single person said their dish was phenomenal! We had to sit in the bar area due to our large party size (kids at high tops, adults at the bar), and the bartender was delightful and gave us great service.
