    Veggie Skillet Churro Waffle

Excellent food! We got the veggie skillet and the churro waffle. The waffle was incredible and we would order this every time we come back! Very good atmosphere and great location!

BRUNCH REVIEW Tried out a new brunch spot in downtown Glen Ellyn. 504 Kitchen opened in the middle of August 2023. They have brunch/lunch service from 8am-4pm, dinner service 4pm-close, and a late night menu that starts at 10pm Friday's/Saturday's. The building had a fire a couple years ago so seeing the newly finished space transformed was great! The restaurant prides itself on being internationally inspired so the menu offers much variety. For our meals, my husband got the Confit Duck Skillet which he raved about. The mixture of perfectly cooked duck with the potatoes, greens, goat cheese and cherries was a delight and well balanced. My egg sandwich was filled for sure! This sandwich came with scrambled eggs, chipotle aioli, bacon, homemade sausage, cheese all in a bagel. While it was good, there are other places locally that I like more for a breakfast sandwich. The potatoes were good but simple. Our only other complaint was that it would have been great to have a water carafe at the table. Overall, service was great and we will certainly be back to try the dinner menu/cocktails!

Small newer place in Glen Ellyn that delivers on flavor. My friend and I went for lunch after doing some Christmas shopping. We were lucky to get a table because the restaurant was full by the time we left. I can understand why it's popular because our food was delicious. I definitely want to go back and sample more of the menu.

Had a birthday breakfast with friends. First time, dine there. Upon arrival, the restaurant is small but cozy cafe. The ambience and quiet with warm atmosphere. I arrive late but good things my friends already there..' I order Chicago Omelette with glass of fresh orange juice and toasts. Omelette had too much salt but overall is good with plenty of green pepper and onions. Would I recommend this place? Yes! Great food. Waiter is very

Very good service from a friendly staff. Menu is interesting but small. One of my dining companions described the ravioli sauce as "grey". Good cocktail list but limited wine options. Apps were the best course. Very small venue which creates lots of noise when the place is full. There is a bar area which looks inviting and would be a good place for a drink and lite bite.

I hate to write reviews like this, but it is needed. I had such high hopes, what led me to this spot was the great reviews here on Yelp. First off, I understand there's a hiring crisis. They were completely understaffed and doing as best as they could. We waited a long time after being seated (at least 15 minutes) to order something to drink. But, we understood we're cool. Before the food arrived... Nature called. I went to use the bathroom. Pulled my pants and underwear down and as I was about to land on the toilet, a MAN walked in! "HEY! HEY!!! I'M IN HERE!!" "OH! I'M SO SORRY!" He slams the door. (Clearly, the gentleman was just as uncomfortable as I was) I could see that I had indeed locked the door. It was visible that the lock button was pushed in. I shuffled back to the door, pants at my ankles and rattled it to make sure it was shut. I pushed that lock button again for good measure. All seemed clear so, I went about my "business." As I'm finishing up washing my hands, Door swings open AGAIN!! Another guy!! Now, I'm in the open door. I say to the guy "This door doesn't lock. You're the second man to walk in on be by accident in less than two minutes! This fella says "Ohhh my God!" I'm showing him the door handle so HE doesn't suffer the same fate as I did. Now, the two of us are fumbling around with the lock apparatus. To no avail. I may not have been as taken aback by all of this is if it had been a fellow woman who walked in inadvertently.. I was literally caught with my PANTS DOWN. But, their restrooms are GENDER NEUTRAL. No matter who you are, there's no way to avoid these awkward confrontations in this element. I told the guy who served us. His response "UGH. Sorry." Nothing else. I ordered the berry pancake which is a dish served with berries, granola, whipped cream and syrup. The pancakes were burnt and I think they ran out of granola; so they threw a handful of raw oats on top. I was hungry so, I went in on that pancake. I've never eaten raw oats before, if you haven't tried it.... DON'T. It's like chewing on cud. GREAT of you're looking at add more fiber to your diet! After the lackluster response regarding the bathroom shenanigans, I decided that it wasn't worth mentioning about my meal. I am glad that I ordered the side of bacon. I got a couple of extra pieces in that order (BONUS!!) so, that's what I ate. The bathroom situation really bothered me. Being walked in on literally naked from the waist down downright sucked. I know it wasn't my fault either. There is something going on with that door. I confirmed it along with the 2nd guy who accidentally entered. The two of us were trying to MacGyver that thing together. I don't know folks. Maybe it was just an off day. Like I said, they were understaffed. They definitely gotta fix that bathroom situation. They have two of them. I used the bathroom on the RIGHT side of the hall. So, if any of you go to visit this place, DEFINITELY DO NOT USE THE BATHROOM ON THE RIGHT SIDE. All I could think about is if there was a child or a young teenager that was walked in on. If a handicapped person was barged in on... Ugh. I shudder to think about it. I told my husband that the next time, HE gets to choose the restaurant that we eat at. I'm not having much luck lately.

Incredible food. It tastes as good as it looks, even better. Guatemalan cooking with a flair of Italian and French. Or a Peruvian/Japanese Tiradito Bluefin Tuna, yuzu, passion fruit & habanero pepper leche de tigre, pistachios, rice chicharron with herb oil, perhaps. Some items remain on the menu, but the seasonal aspect means there will ahead be something new and incredible.

Tried this place on a Saturday night with my husband. We waited for like 10 mins by the door to get seated. The place wasn't that busy though. For drinks, we started off with Blanton's and Virgin Mojito. Our server didn't know what Blanton is and we had to spell it out for her so that she can go and check with the Bar person. The server seemed pretty new to the job. However she was polite. For appetizer, we ordered potato croquettes which were delicious. We didn't have any main dishes as the dinner menu is limited with not having enough vegetarian options. The atmosphere was chill. The ambiance was trendy. There is plenty of street parking spots. Looks like a place more for just drinks than food.

We recently moved from Chicago and are always looking for a "not your average suburban restaurant." This place is that - the food and drinks were excellent. I was initially deterred by a smaller menu, but there was no reason for that - everything we tried was delicious, and the portions were much larger than anticipated. I would highly recommend to anyone.

My fried and i had an amazing experience dinning here. We sat at the bar and first started with cocktails. I ordered their guava margarita which was so good. The bartender was extremely friendly and she had a conversation with us about the place and the chef. The decor was so pretty and it felt like we were on vacay. There is plenty of street parking and it's right next to the Metra stop. They also offer outdoor seating which is perfect for those nice days. I would be here every day if i could. Definitely a gem in downtown Glen Ellyn.

Ok all five star reviews? Well wait until you go- I had to review before the check even came! Yum,yum, yum!!! Great ambience, top notch waitress and delicious food. Best breakfast in a very long time! We ordered a generous breakfast sandwich (the seasoned potato's were awesome) and I had the avocado toast- picture perfect and delicious and we split the churro waffle. Delicately delicious! Try them fast before the secrets out!! Ahh so glad Marche was closed so we ventured around the corner to this place. Juxtapose to Blackberry Market which we tried the other day- they should take some notes from here- this is how it's done!

This visit was extra meaningful because they quite literally saved my birthday evening. We had reservations at the new Bien Trucha in Wheaton, only to arrive and find it closed... with no notice. Not exactly festive. Enter Proof No. 5, swooping in like the culinary hero of the night. We enjoyed an exquisite tuna crudo, rich and beautifully balanced, and meatballs over polenta that felt like comfort dressed up for a celebration. The medallions with mushrooms and three sauces were excellent, layered, and deeply satisfying. And the cocktails? Some of the best crafted in the suburbs. Thoughtful, balanced, and dangerously easy to order a second. Warm atmosphere, consistently great food, and a team that delivers every time. We'll keep coming back. And back. And back.

Had the wagon rider non alcoholic cocktail. Hint of raspberry and lime. My main meal I had the roasted beets salad and added salmon. Had the right amount of dressing. There were air dried and roasted beets. Get the crunch from air dried beets and pistachios. Also had a Light sweet taste. Have option to add steak, salmon, or chicken. My wife suggested this place and I have never been here prior but once I parked my vehicle and stepped inside, i completely forgot about my worries because I felt like I was at home. Great selection of cocktails and all sorts of seasonal drinks and specials. Mixologists here are highly trained for what they do and are great with their customer service. They have a larger room in the back that I was not able to see that looks like it's for larger parties. My only regret about this place is that I should have came here for Valentine's day. I love that their menu changes so often each season with so many different drinks to try and they are all super inventive. I also love that they sometimes put fun little items on the drinks, such as a page from a book, a temporary tattoo, or a piece of candy. This time, they had their spring 2026 menu. I looked at their Instagram page before coming and decided exactly what I wanted. It's so fun how they write a little story to go along with each cocktail and the thought process behind it. It definitely makes the drinks feel more personal and special. We started off with the Rose Tico Conundrum (very sweet and came with a little piece of raspberry candy) and Pepe Silvia's Pickle Party Plot (really delicious, was surprised by this one). Next we tried the speciality API month drink called Gratitude in Bloom (tasted very gingery and lemony, almost like a healthy tea drink) and the Springtime Thought Crime (very strong with a hint of cherry). There isn't much seating so it's not great for huge groups but I think there is a patio. It's a pretty casual spot and great for just hanging out. The music is loud but the vibe is fun. The bartenders and servers are always amazing and super attentive. They do not serve their own food, but I think they have a food truck sometimes that you can order from and they'll bring it to you. I could be wrong about that, but the people next to us had tacos brought to them on paper plates, which looked delicious.

Well, this is about as close to doing so as you can easily get, because Tao opened NST, and this is his creation (in fact, I saw him there during my first visit!). Many of the other reviews cover the drinks really well, so there's little else to add. If you're there for "classic" cocktails, this isn't really the place (although, the foie gras old fashioned was super, sort of classic, but also unique). The point of the place is to drink flavors you've never tasted in a glass before. The BLT cocktail...literally tastes like an actual BLT (literally!)...except you're drinking it rather than chewing it. This place is so great, employees seem to really love their job. The only negative experience I've had there was related to a group of 10 or so who showed up, and this was clearly not their first stop of the evening. They were loud and already clearly buzzed, and just ordered Modelos. Not NST's fault, but I say this to say: if you come here, you should come to get completely immersed in this one-of-a-kind experience.

But to the drinks -- many classifications of cocktails to choose from on the large menu (as well as some wines, grab and go cocktails, NA/mocktails and a couple beers. Don't sleep on the empanadas from aforementioned country club. They're fantastic). Sone classic cocktails, their riffs on other classic cocktails, and then the main events : their specialties, their experiments and what is in the pipeline. Plus flights that allow you to sample the creativity. The flavors and the combinations are insane. Thick foams, clarified drinks, multi- ingredient, multi-spirit-- all well balanced (though the welcome shot of Bubble Gum and the Kinder Surprise were a tad sweeter than I usually go for). Think savory like pizza or salads. I know you can't so you better go and see what I mean !' Depending on specials, prices are $10-20/drink plus a couple of large format offerings.
