Moving is very stressful, but using Casper Movers helped to lower my stress level. I will definitely use Casper Movers again for future moves and have referred them to family and friends.

While they did arrive on time and were nice guys, upon off loading the truck they had broken several pieces. When it was time to pay for the move they asked me to estimate off hand the cost of each item and deduct it from the total. This would have been an acceptable outcome had I known the cost of the items they broke. Upon sending them several emails detailing the cost of the items that were damaged, sending links and offering receipts I had received no response. Eventually I called David who told me that they would send me a check for the difference. When it didn't arrive and I called the company YET AGAIN and spoke to another person who had no knowledge of the situation and tried to tell me that I was at fault for the broken items. In short fine company if all goes well but should there be any hiccups they don't seem to be capable at solving them or providing customer service/following through.

The movers were scheduled to show up at 10:00 on Tuesday morning, and I still received no response; no one answered the phone until noon. I would have been more than flexible if they needed to reschedule, after all, a hurricane did come through! But, I don't think it would have been too much to ask for a phone call or some communication with the company. When I finally got in touch with Dave at noon, he acted like there was nothing wrong that they just simply didn't show up. Luckily, he was able to reschedule me for the next day. We ended up renting a cargo van on Tuesday and moving all of our boxes ourself. It was a good thing too! The movers showed up 75 minutes late on Wednesday, and we only had the loading dock for a certain amount of time. The two guys worked fast, but they still ended up breaking my dresser and seriously scratching my leather couch. I'm not a professional mover, but I do know that you should take the drawers out of a dresser when you move it and to wrap a couch as well. On top of that, they didn't offer to compensate me. I'll admit, I never called Dave to complain (yet) because I was just happy to have the move over with. But, I was very disappointed with the service and would not recommend them to anyone.

I used them two years ago and had a fantastic experience, but this one definitely fell short. I scheduled my move for 10 a.m. and received a text message at 2 a.m. the morning of my move rescheduling my appointment for later that morning. There was no explanation given in the automated message, and suffice it to say I was not happy (in addition to the automated message, I would have appreciated a quick mail explaining the reason for the reschedule, and offering me some sort of compensation for the inconvenience). I was even more unhappy when they arrived later than the rescheduled time. The movers worked very hard and given the number of steps and the amount of belongings, I felt that the amount of time the move took was acceptable. However, what made me most unhappy about this experience was the condition of my furniture when it arrived... and the subsequent lack of response. Before and after the move, they do a "walkthrough" to look at your furniture, note any pre-existing damage, as well as any damage that was sustained during the move. In theory it is a great idea, but in practice it was pretty pointless. It's almost impossible to thoroughly perform that task when there are boxes and bags all over the place, and you can barely move around in the house. The day after my move, as I'm unpacking and reorganizing my furniture, I noticed some damage to a few of my items. My bar suffered significant damage on both sides, to the point where some of the wood has been completely chipped off. One of my living room chairs had a really bad scratch on one of its back legs, and my dresser got a pretty bad scratch on the bottom. (Maybe the furniture was not wrapped properly. I don't know). I contacted the company immediately to inform them of the damage. In response, I was reminded of the walkthrough and was told that the owner would get back to me. He never did. The reason I chose to give repeat business to Jason and his company is because it was a small business run by a guy who really seemed to care about his customers, and wanted to do a good job at a great price. Since then, the prices have gone up, and the service (in terms of getting my items into my home undamaged) has gone way down. Moreover, this company has consistently demonstrated difficulty properly managing scheduled moves. This move was delayed because a job they booked the day before went longer than expected. My first move with this company was also delayed because Jason booked two jobs too close together and the job before mine also took longer than he expected. These delays should not impact the customer... and if they do, then the customer should be compensated for it. Otherwise, if you see you're getting behind, bring in some extra guys, and do what needs to be done to get to the next job on time. I really liked doing business with this company the first time and was hoping for a repeat performance. Sadly, that was not the case, and as a result, this will be my last time doing business with Quality Movers.

A couple of hours into loading the truck, I notice a car has been outside all the while with a lady sitting in it staring me down. Astonishingly, it was the mover, Jason's wife! It must've been bring your wife and kids to work day and I clearly didn't get the memo. They literally loitered in front of my building for the entire 8 hour move (yes, I said 8 hours!) in the car waiting for them to finish. Why couldn't they stay home and he just come with the car? She was their ride. Seemed kind of fishy. Like did either of the movers not have a license? PEOPLE BEWARE. That could be a liability to you if your mover isn't licensed or insured. So after unloading the truck, Jason wants to talk fees. He came up with this outrageous fee that he calculated in his head. He wanted me to pay 30% more than what we initially agreed upon, based on a whole bunch of hidden fees that were not discussed during the initial quote. I was completely in shock. The audacity of this man to charge such an excessive amount with everything that transpired throughout the day. Let's go through the list of horrible things: 1.) I had to provide my own truck. 2.) He was late. 3.)He brought his wife and kids to work. 4.)They took FOREVER!! 5.) I had a truck with more than enough room and they didn't load the truck properly. I had to make several trips after the "move" in my car to finish getting my stuff. 6.)They tore the walls and doors to the brand new apartment so now I have to pay for painters. 7.)They tore up the deck to the patio which will require a paint job also. 8.) Scratched the top of my dryer that I was planning to sell (now it has rusted :/ ) 9.)Annnnd his wife's car battery died and she asked for a jump. 10.)They also took the liberty to help themselves to some of my stuff that I had off to the side for disposal. I expressed my grievances about the fee and that I was not paying that outrageous amount (HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A TRUCK! ), which upset him. So guess what he does next? HE STOLE THE KEYS TO MY RENTAL TRUCK!!! I called and messaged his phone and asked him for the key with no reply. I finally had to just call the police. It was a complete nightmare. I have NEVER experienced anything like this before. I've used more reputable moving companies for less the time and half the cost. I'm so shocked at all these five star reviews. My experience was HELL. Moving is never a walk in the park -- I hired movers to make my life easier and this was the complete opposite. After my move, I was disappointed to find that they had put tape directly on the backing of a custom framed item, which ripped the backing when it was removed. Months after my move, I set up a nightstand with a built in charger, only to find the movers had shoved the built in cord into a small hole in the bottom of the night stand, making it impossible to remove. The only way to fetch the cord is to completely disassemble the piece of furniture, which came to me fully assembled. I reached out to the owner, Edward Roland, to see if he would reimburse for a Task Rabbit to disassemble my furniture to correct the damage, but he said that "internal wiring" is not his responsibility. I would not recommend this moving company to anyone. Next time, I'd go with a more reputable company.
