When I first walked into Mark's gym six months ago, I was frustrated. Despite working out consistently three times a week for many years, I still suffered from frequent back and knee pain, and my lower-body strength, core stability, and balance were poor. From our first meeting, Mark listened carefully to my concerns and developed a customized training program around what my body actually needed. Instead of simply pushing me to lift heavier weights, he taught me to first build a strong foundation--core, glutes, hamstrings, quads, balance, and proper movement--before focusing on strength and power. That lesson will benefit me for the rest of my life. Six months later, my back pain is gone, I no longer need knee support when working out, and my lower-body strength and balance have improved tremendously. At the same time, I increased my dumbbell chest press from 45 lbs to 70 lbs and went from barely being able to hold myself on a pull-up bar to performing multiple unassisted underhand pull-ups. Most importantly, I achieved all of this without getting injured. Mark taught me that a great trainer isn't someone who simply pushes you harder or makes you lift heavier weights. A great trainer understands your body, identifies weaknesses, builds strength methodically, and knows when to push and when not to. I couldn't be happier with what Mark and I have accomplished together. His contribution to my fitness and physical well-being has been invaluable. I highly recommend Mark to anyone who wants to build lasting strength, improve their overall fitness, and reduce the risk of injury.

Mark is excellent at explaining both the theory and practice, so you actually understand what you're doing and how to do it properly. The gym is very well equipped, always clean, and has everything you need for serious and focused training. Mark creates a relaxed but professional atmosphere, and he's easy to work with, always adjusting the sessions to fit where you are and what you need to work on. Since starting with him, I've seen solid gains in strength and technique, and I feel much more confident with every workout. If you want a personal trainer who's knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely committed to helping you improve, Mark is the guy to see.

I was a founding member for a year and here's what I learned…read more Here's the good: The equipment is nice, aesthetic even. It's cleanly, she runs a tight ship on her employees to walk the floor and make sure weights are put away and attachments aren't lying around. I didn't see a machine out of working order, except one of the legs machines, and even then it was fixed promptly. There's a good array of options for whatever your workout is and choices you probably won't see if your standard commercial gym. Here's the truth: I cancelled as a founding member at $60/mo so if that isn't a good enough value to stay, the price for new members is stupid expensive. You're talking close to bay club prices for less than a quarter of the space and amenities. Recovery - there is none. She calls Glow House studio recovery for some odd reason. It's facial derma-planning and spray tanning. No sauna, steam room, massage chairs, nothing traditionally considered "recovery" unless we're redefining words. There's maybe 30 parking spots so if this place ever gets busy, good luck with that although their pricing is likely keeping them from growing and they use the guise of "exclusive" to justify it. But the real problem here is community. This place feels like high school mean girls club and a vanity project for the owner. If you peddle her clothing brand to get a discount code in your online bio and like filming cringy online content, you'd be best friends with the culture here. As another reviewer here said hearing Josh (front end tattoo guy) talking about other members - if you aren't in their "crew" or worship the owners egotistical wish to be a women's only gym, you're on the outside. Acquaintances of mine identity Lux as a girls only gym because it's the place self proclaimed "influencers" go to film content. You'll find tripods out almost every session you go. Imagine taking some of the most annoying online wannabe "influencers" and running a gym with just them as the work force - you get self inflated ego's, workout environments that are more about filming and attention, more posing, less lifting. Everything here feels performative, every interaction. Girls poking out their behinds and effeminate men shaking hips to film cringey online content for a brand they don't own and a company they must feel is their lifetime job of saying "Have a good workout." If your natural next step in life is to try and grow your "online presence" and like being around like minded individuals that care more about what they are showing online and perhaps want to peddle clothing and peptides. - you'll fit right in. When I emailed to cancel I received no response and had to call 2 days later to ask what's going on. The owner said I was cancelled to which I asked "Oh so you just didn't want to respond to my email or communicate confirmation in any way?" I wasn't even going to review this place but what a shit way to do business.

The classes are broken up into rowers, treadmill, and floor / weights each time with different exercises per a class so it doesn't get super boring (I've been asked...). I go 2x a week and I can see a huge improvement - I recently went hiking and barely needed any breaks thanks to all the incline work we do on the treads. Shout out to Coach Sarah and Paul who always have the best music! Totally makes a difference for a better workout. Would be 5 stars but recently I feel like every machine has no space in between and is right next to each other (I swear it used to be farther apart??) and the treadmill area is lacking AC to where I feel hot air vs the floor where I feel the AC.

Although I've been going to gym since high school, my eating habits are not always ideal and I've always struggled with weight. At my April 2026 doctor's checkup I weighed the most I've ever been. Yikes! Some extreme lifestyle changes were needed, especially since I'm a dad juggling with a career. As a Yelper, I also need better health to enjoy good food , travel and enjoy life more! We signed up with Gil for 30, 1-hr private workouts. The results have so far been amazing - after 4 months, I lost about 20 pounds and feel better. Clothes feel looser and recent bloodwork showed great reduction in blood sugar. We recently re-signed for another 30 sessions based on excellent results to date. Here's why I recommend Underground Fitness if you are serious about weight loss: 1. Gil helps design a meal plan based on your target weight. Nothing too drastic - he reviews your daily meal and makes suggested changes and additions. In some cases you're adding food (hello egg whites and cottage cheese). 2. You get daily protein, carb, and fat targets that are easy to measure by uploading photos to any free AI agent - see Yelpers are naturally good at this! 3. Love the flexibility - weekly 1-hr sessions work best for me since I have access to my Corporate gym. Gil designs workouts each week via App that will guide you whether you work at home, travel, or have access to another gym. 4. The actual 1-hr workouts with Gil are brutal but you'll feel great afterwards. A mix of barbells, dumbbells, bands, cardio rowing/bikes, medicine balls, TRX, and pushing or pulling really heavy sleds. 5. With private training, you get a great coach and mentor in Gil, and can leverage his expertise to achieve your health goals. The cost is more expensive than a gym membership but if you want results, I believe the investment is well worth it.

I had one goal - to finish in under 4 hours. Several times I came close but the goal eluded me time and time again. This year, I decided to do something different and signed up for weekly sessions with Francisco. First and foremost, he analyzed my gait and noticed that my right leg was much stronger than my left and that I was tight in several areas. As such, we worked on strengthening exercises and flexibility every single week. I was also injured, suffering from piriformis syndrome and shin splints, so he swapped 2 days of running on the weekly calendar for the elliptical machine. Francisco also ensured I did my long runs slow. If I'm being honest, I wondered how running less and running slow would ultimately help me run faster come race day but I trusted Francisco and his process. In late June 2019, I ran the Missoula marathon, had over a 5 minute PR, and came in at 3:57!!! 2) Family feel - the whole Fit Potato staff is warm, inviting, fun, and friendly. 3) Long term health - some places/people will push you too hard and you end up injured. Francisco and the Fit Potato team challenge you but they also know that you cannot achieve your goals if you're injured. If you are looking to achieve a goal or simply to improve your overall fitness in a healthy way, I would highly suggest you give Fit Potato a try!

I have also done 4 sessions with on One-on-One Personal Training with Coach Francisco so he could guide me and make suggestions so I can keep a routine going when I go back home. This has been priceless, I have never been able to maintain a fitness routine and get to the point where I enjoy it and miss not doing it. If you are in town for work or live in the area and you are seeking small personal classes with lots of teaching and accountable or seek more direction in the form of Personal Training I highly suggest you give The FIT Potato a try. I was very pleased with coaches dedication to teach and truly make fitness not just a workout but something personal and focus around long term results. I have a new outlook on fitness and look forward to every workout. Huge Mind shift change.
