This "restaurant" is totally unique because everything is cooked in a tiny little room that is no bigger than 8 by 5 feet, with two or more people working to prepare the food. We got the pad see-ew and pad thai, as well as two Thai iced teas. The pad see-ew had huge noodles and tasted just right. There was a lot more there than I was expecting. The pad thai was also really good and had fresh bean sprouts. Everything had the classic Thai food taste. There were also a huge number of other options on the menu which, judging by how tasty the ones we got were, would also be really good. I paid with my card, was given a number and took a seat at the communal wooden picnic tables. When I got my food, I could see it was a solid amount. Two Jiang Bing halves. The only thing I didn't really see was the roast duck. Before I get into that though, I just want to say you can tell how much care the people who work here put into their food. If there's a line, they don't rush the process. The crepe outside is perfect and the crispy wonton pieces in the middle are the star of my Jiang Bing. Their cucumbers are fresh. You can taste the sauce. I just would have wanted a little more meat so it wasn't so much crepe and crispiness. I give them a solid 4.5 though. I couldn't finish both halves of my Jiang bing because it's filling. I suggest bringing someone who will want to share food. I may be back to try their handmade dumplings next!

Spirits were high. Expectations were hot. Unfortunately... the restaurant was not. I'm not exaggerating when I say it felt colder inside than outside. We had just survived crazy wind chill and somehow walked into what felt like the extended edition of winter. I could see it in my family's eyes -- if I made them stay, I might be eating that khao poon alone. After about five minutes of studying the menu (and seriously debating toughing it out), we had to call it. Between shivering and imagining our soup cooling at record speed, it just wasn't going to work. We genuinely wanted to stay -- which is the tough part. Please, for the love of warm noodles everywhere, get some heaters going in there. We'll happily come back when we can feel our fingers while holding the spoon.
