This was some of the best food I've had in a while! I was a little iffy about coming here for lunch…read moresince I had been here once for dinner and it wasn't my favorite experience, but I'm so glad I gave it another try. The lunch portions were incredibly generous, especially the grilled cheese and fries, which were actually a kids meal! The buffalo chicken Caesar wrap was a little lacking in Caesar flavor, but where it lacked in Caesar, it definitely made up for it with the buffalo flavor, and it was still incredible. 10/10 across the board! The customer service was also amazing, and the staff were genuinely such a pleasure to interact with. And the little doodle on the bag was just the cutest added bonus! Definitely left much happier with this visit than my first one!

For mains, my friend ordered the elk burger, and as a self-proclaimed elk burger connoisseur, her approval means something -- she thoroughly enjoyed it. I went with the pulled pork sandwich, which was good and flavorful, and paired really well with their pepper & cabbage coleslaw on the side. We also split a cup of the roasted red pepper and tomato bisque, which was honestly a highlight of the whole meal -- rich, well-balanced, and worth ordering on its own. Drinks deserve a shoutout too: their non-alcoholic options were great. My friend raved about the guava lemonade, and I had the blueberry vinegar shrub, which was excellent -- bright, crisp, and refreshing.

While looking for a nice spot for lunch in the Pearl District on Halloween Saturday, I came across…read moreScreen Door, an establishment featuring both indoor and lovely outdoor seating options. The restaurant immediately caught my attention with its truly impressive seasonal holiday decor, creating a chic yet festive ambiance that drew me right inside. The interior is spotlessly clean and pristine, blending modern polish with a captivating festive energy. Despite the holiday crowd, the hospitality was top-tier from start to finish. The staff managed the afternoon rush with remarkable grace, remaining attentive, warm, and delightfully accommodating throughout our visit. To celebrate the occasion, I ordered a classic Bloody Mary, which arrived exquisitely garnished, perfectly spiced, and wonderfully refreshing a delightful highlight to a Saturday afternoon. For my lunch selection, I paired my beverage with an order of their deviled eggs. When presented, the dish was an absolute culinary triumph exceptionally smooth, beautifully seasoned, and executed with high-status quality and finesse. Between the immaculate cleanliness, striking decor, sublime offerings, and stellar service, Screen Door earns full marks from me. A thoroughly memorable Halloween outing I shall most certainly be returning

An entire multi-page menu of herbal teas that includes historical information about how the different ingredients had been used by indigenous populations? Yes please! After wanting to visit Javelina for a long time I finally got the opportunity to a couple weeks ago. SO GOOD! I got the bison chili, some fry bread (of course! ), the three sisters salad, and some tea. The chili was SUPERB, and the fry bread was the perfect dipping accompaniment to it. The three sisters salad had such a good flavor balance, with the squash giving a perfect hint of sweetness against the other ingredients. I love herbal teas (my mom grew her own herbs and would make all different ones for us growing up), so it was such a delight to see the huge variety of in-house-made herbal teas available. I forget the name of the one I ended up picking (I think it was something like three tribes). It was great and exactly what I was looking for). The ambience in the restaurant has a lovely simplicity that feels like it suits it perfectly. I can't wait to come back and try their brunch some time. Oh, and before I forget, the service was on-point. Everyone being lovely and accommodating.

Staff is friendly, decor features local indigenous artists, and offerings are creative. Don't expect a lot of powerful flavors, given that traditional ingredients are used, for the most part, but it's good I tried a huckleberry cooler, which was very refreshing; the bison chili, which was good, with the beans perfectly done, but very little bison, and it came out slightly above room temperature; the seared elk tacos, which were overwhelmed by the amount of cheese; and a side of boar bacon, which was amazing.

Olympia Provisions is consistently one of our favorite places to frequent in PDX. Great location,…read morefun ambiance, pleasant staff, fabulous food! We are typically brunch people, making it here most often on a Saturday or Sunday for a late brunch. Their benedicts are to die for... truly, they're all wonderful. Their Laser Potato is out of this world. Truly, my favorite item on their menu. It is fabulous in all ways. I often take a side of it home just to enjoy later. We recently tried them for dinner. Their muscles are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Truly, the best I've ever had. This beats living in the southeast on the coast, any west-coast seafood restaurant, and every place I've ever enjoyed in Italy. They've certainly topped the muscle game. Highly recommend Olympic Provisions. I will gladly vouch that the negative reviews are from the haters, just to hate. The overall experience has never been anything less than fantastic. Photos to follow (hopefully, if I can find them! HA!) Enjoy OP next time you're in PDX!
