I have an issue with a closet rod that has broken its support twice. I was able to fix it the 1st time but im not sure if I can again. Hoping to find stronger support holders at this store. After reading some of the reviews here I can't wait to see what I'll be able to find in this store and meet some of the incredible people working there. Walked in here to grab a few items and the smell walking into the store is loud and pungent. I'm not sure what it was but if I had to guess some potting soil and bird food or something. The place is overpriced but I had a few gift cards I wanted to use. I purchased a trash can, a light switch , lawn bags and batteries. That sucked up the 50 giftcard I had. It was kind of small but well organized. There was a woman in there hooting and hollering for assistance and that she needed to get out of the store because she thought she was gonna pass out, the employee that assisted her wasn't emphatic and took her order and info as she wanted to come back tmr to pick it up. Wow, after going to this place for years in its old location in Drexel HIll I came to the new location in Havertown one day, what a horrible , horrible change. The old location was awesome, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly the new place must be under new ownership because , allegedly this location has a bunch of Rude, dismissive slack jawed buffoons that seem to care little about customer service . Man what a bummer, I loved the old place in Drexel hill. I will never shop here again. These guys will be out of business soon, sad, I hate going to Home depot. read more

This is a hidden gem. It's located in a shopping center so many may pass it up. This Ace Hardware has plenty of parking along with plenty of carts for use. They are fully stocked and always have what you need. They even have contact paper which is required by many schools to cover books. The shelves are nicely arranged and ever a mess. You can rent items such as tools, cotton candy machine and moonbounces to name a few. I've picked up so many items and uses many of their services including fixing a screen. The staff is very helpful and eager to help me find those odd items such as pegs for a shelf. It's my go to place. I just wished it was a little closer to me. I stop in whenever I'm in the area. read more

Not sure why they closed down the old one if they were going to open this place. I personally prefer small, local hardware stores to the two big box ones, so I stopped in here the other day for a small can of stain and a couple of paintbrushes. The selection available in the store is good enough, but the service absolutely stinks. I decided to get a key copied while I was there, and was greeted with a grunt and a dour look. In the midst of receiving the copy, the guy took off to the back room before I could even say thanks. The glum teenager working the register was no better - sour and unfriendly. Oh, and during the 20 minutes I was in the store, these were the sum total of employees that I saw. I'll never understand people who invest enormous sums of money into opening a business and then just don't seem to care about keeping it running. There are much better small hardware stores in the general area who actually want to help you. read more

It was a Father's Day weekend special I believe, but just snagged a Weber grill with free delivery, free assembly, take away of my old grill, and a free grill cover. Can't beat that with a bat. Total price was $582 for the whole deal. I priced that out for the exact same grill, cover, assembly and delivery at Lowe's nearby, and it came out to $100 more. Delivery was right on time, and the guy was super friendly who delivered it. I was a little surprised that they only sent one guy to deliver the grill, considering that there are steps to climb to get to my house. I actually helped him carry it. I would have docked a star, but the grill wound up being pretty light, and he was able to handle the takeaway of the old grill by rolling it down my hill on his own. So no harm, no foul. And the grill worked like a champ that evening for dinner. Good store, with good people working for them, and the cheapskate in me was happy. I have no complaints. read more

Pretty much the most awesome Ace Hardware known to man. Or me. We had an Ace Hardware near our last house, in another state. I'd go there to get BM paint, and not much else because it was literally the size of a tiny cottage. I did get some xmas lights there one year on clearance. This Ace is like the Great Mall of Ace's. They also sell BM paint, which is why I went there in the first place. And was amazed. One of the workers there said that he thought it was only one of 2 super large Ace's in the US. They make keys. They have paint. They have garden furniture. Grills. Pots. Soil. Kitchen supplies. Storage containers. Tools. Fans. Bubble gum machine for my toddler on the way out. This place is why he asks to go to the store. It's not your giant Home Depot or Lowe's where you can find anything and everything, I frequent them too but if I need something quick and easy, I head over here, it is fast and easy and you can almost always find a parking spot right in front. The staff is friendly and knows their store. Love it. read more

I am disappointed in this store. I was in there earlier today looking for Christmas lights and other items. The employees I spoke to looking for help were very stand-offish with me and spoke to me like I was an idiot, and was causing them a huge burden. One lady actually got an attitude with me when she was unable to find an item that was advertised on the website. I'm all about supporting local businesses, but not when the employees are going to treat their customers like this. read more

I feel like whenever we come in here it's to get some obscure bolt or nut. They have a huge selection, especially considering how small the store is. Overall, they usually have what we're looking for and the employees are friendly, albeit a little sparse. I don't think I've ever seen one walking the store, but they're easy enough to find at one of the counters in the front. read more

Great experience last month. Our Big Green Egg required replacement parts due to cracking and Brian was extremely helpful in obtaining them from the company. I wish there was a way to give this store Zero Stars. That's the only way to describe the level of incompetence at this ACE Hardware store. Twice I went to this store to pick up my online order and then when it was finally there the second time...it wasn't 't even the full order. They said the product was actually there in the store, it wasn't. It was at their warehouse that "could deliver it in 24 hours". This was a lie. I was there on a Saturday and the store attendant that tried to find my order for 30 min then told me they only get deliveries from the warehouse on Wednesday and Friday. When I finally asked to cancel my order and get a refund I had to wait Again and then I got a load of attitude from Custer the cashier. The guys at Fisher's have saved me a bunch if times during my 'oh shit' moments while fixing things around my house. It's a great place to go if you know exactly what you need and don't want to waste time wondering around a big box store. They also did a great, fast, and fair priced job on repairing a few window screens for me. I have noticed their prices tend to be higher than that of a big box home improvement store. That being said, when I want a quick solution It's worth the extra costs for the convenience. Good job guys, I'll keep coming back as I break more things. read more

This place rocks. They're usually very helpful and they put forth effort in helping you. Seem to have things that the bigger chains don't have. Love going in there for Christmas and the start of summer as they have a lot of cool stuff to buy, or just look at. So much more than your average hardware store. They have rentals, a landscaper section for pros, equipment repairs, etc. Great place. read more

This place is great! They have a nice selection of tools and hardware in general. It's smaller than the Home Depot or Lowes, so it's a lot easier to navigate. The staff know exactly where EVERYTHING is. Even though they may be a buck or two more on some items, the knowledge of the staff and size of the store make it all worth it. Do they have as much stuff as the Depot...no, but they also have different stuff that you wouldn't find at the Depot or Lowes. They definitely have a nicer selection of lawn/garden tools. read more

I rented a electric drain snake at 4:10pm Sunday. I was told if I rented for the four hr rental i would have to return by 6pm when they closed 1hr 50min later! When I told them i would return at 8am when they opened i was charged the 24 hr rate. I returned at 7:55 and spoke to Brian the manager.I asked what difference was if I retuned at 6pm when they closed or 8 am when they opened. I was treated like i was trying to rip them off. Their equipment was missing the pinch bolt and i had to fix it before i could use it also.Very poor customer service and the last time i do business with Fishers! read more

I have been going to Fischers since it was a True Value back in the 90s, and this place has only improved with age. I'm a hardware geek, and if you can't find it here, your only other option is Graingers. Recently they have started carrying Craftsman tools as well. I'd rather go here that ANY home Depot or Lowes, at least these folks know what the heck they are talking about...and their rental section is awesome. Wish they would start carrying lumber; they'd put the local Home Depot out of business in a heartbeat. read more
