They…read moredidn't call ahead as instructed, did not call the number we gave them, and left the fridge in the middle of my hallway that I had to hire someone to move it. They didn't even attempt to take my old fridge out, which I paid them to do, and called me to let me know it's delivered AFTER they left the house! They guy told me to learn to measure before I buy. Mind you, I don't need to learn. I'm an Ivy League educated who do in fact know how to measure. The refrigerator was 28 inches wide and 31 inches deep. My door is 30 inches wide. So, simple math, you can fit the damn fridge in there. You know how I know? Because my old fridge was the exact measurement you retard! I'm so disappointed how the delivery team treated me as a loyal customer for years! I've spent at least 50k on items I bought from Lowe's over the year for businesses and personal needs. Unless they reach out to refund the $200 I spent on hiring people to finish their job, I'll be posting this review everywhere!

As a homeowner, my husband and I have shopped in both Lowe's and Home Depot for over 20 years. We…read morehave spent an extraordinary amount of money in both of these stores. We rarely need to make returns, but we just had a recent instance of having to return 5 bags of polymeric sand because we decided to have the job done by a contractor. I saved the receipt and my husband went to the store to return the sand. It was a VERY UNPLEASANT experience to learn that there is a 90 day window on returns (with receipt) and NO EXCEPTIONS ARE GRANTED FOR A RESELLABLE ITEM such as polymeric sand! Needless to say, we have made our LAST purchase at Lowes and I will be sharing this VERY NEGATIVE experience EVERYWHERE I can.

Sometimes the store looks like it's just been looted. Check out the photo I took of the roofing…read morearea yesterday -- I was just trying to grab some J-channel and had to weave around grills, pallets, boxes... everything. The ladies working early in the morning are very kind and will help you scan your items. However, some products, like spray paint and patch filler, are dried out. Occasionally, the tools are even rusty -- like the steel rakes I've included in the photo. I saw one of the Pro Loadout guys push a cart from the lumber doors and let it roll freely down the steep parking lot, slamming into the cart corral. How long until they have to replace the fencing around the corral from this idiot's ramming? What if a child had been in the way? The rewards system feels like a scam -- but that seems to be the case at every Home Depot.

The was another staffer available but John seemed more ready to answer and was on his feet more. It was about 30 minutes before closing. I considered another Home Depot open one hour later than this one as I am about the same distance between the two. However, my service experiences have not been as favorable at the one. Here, the people seem super nice and the store is pleasant to be around. A friend told me that delicate tape would not have been good for my purposes and going with the multipurpose tape was the way to go. I considered canvas paint cover but felt that I didn't need that level of material for the price that it was. John was very helpful for helping me figure that out. He also recommended the paint covers and I liked that idea a lot . Wouldn't have thought of it and nor my friend who plans to help me with a painting project.

Despite its continued success, the company is facing some challenges. I miss Pat's personal touch…read morewhen I ordered supplies. The last delivery guy did not want to talk and did not ask me any questions about our business or how the wood was going to be used, you know, the little things that make consumers feel good when you order $800 worth of lumber twelve times a year. I got a follow-up call from the manager (for the first time), I'm sure it's to address her impatient millennial sales guy concerns, who, in the end, is not Pat.

Is that Beatty Lumber I see in 2 episodes of "Delco Proper" on Comedy Central (the Tommy Pope…read moreseries exclusively on Comedy Central's website)? Or are they just trying to represent this place? "The lumber yard" is the main focus of the show, so if you are a fan, you will love Beatty Lumber! (more about this later...) As for my shopping experiences here... we relied on Beatty and Delco Supply (a competitor on the other side of Delco) for loads of finish materials (trim, beadboard, etc.) to do a lot of remodeling in our home. Beatty will beat Depot and the other box stores on a lot of pricing, but where they don't beat price, they come up with a better product. If you pay attention to quality you will appreciate that. Beatty is family-run (just like on the show "Delco Proper") and the whole family is in there working. I have dealt with one of the guys my age (son or cousin?), and I believe his dad. I have also dealt with the woman who helps on the showroom floor (the mom?) where they have a lot of kitchen remodeling items. They are always concerned about whether you are being helped or not, which is really nice (totally the opposite of the unhelpful front desk staff at Delco Supply). The front desk people treat women with respect (again, unlike Delco Supply). And they are careful to ask questions about your project to make sure you are getting the right thing you need. They know their inventory backward and forward, and they can really be helpful in offering tips and knowledge you didn't know you needed to know. I really liked that about this place. I take a star off because some of the guys in the sheds can be kind of rough. We got some sheets of beadboard last time and they weren't careful about the edges, which got nicked. I also had to watch what they were giving us because a couple sheets had imperfections on them that they either missed or didn't care about giving me. So you gotta watch that. Beatty Lumber offers the interior remodeling finishes (cabinets, countertops, etc.) that aren't offered at the lumber/hardware-only Delco Supply. All in all this is a solid business with the right attitude to show for all their years of operation. If this place is not inspiration for "Delco Proper" (the show all about all things Delco), it should be. When I think "Delco" and "lumber yard" I think of Beatty. An actual conversation I heard at the counter just before March 17th: Beatty Lumber Employee: "So whaddy ya doin for da holleyday?" Customer: "Prolly goin out fur sum beeurs..." Look, I know Philly has a hard time when people poke fun at the accent (if TV can even get it right), but if you watch "PhillyTawk" YouTube videos about it (by Sean Monahan), you will come to love and embrace it. (You will also laugh so hard you cry.) I try to look at Delco honestly, but appreciatively. And I think that is the spirit of Delco-native, Tommy Pope's, show. Beatty Lumber should be proud if they are the chosen inspiration for it!
