This is my favorite restaurant by far :) I come for sushi because it is the best around (I come from 45 minutes north)....the drinks are great and the atmosphere is also! read more

Every time I come here it is consistently excellent. The food is always prepared to order, the service is superb, and they pour the perfect Guinness. read more

Food is not bad. Service is awful. Twice this month had to wait forever on the table b4 a server shows up.

Omg You have to enjoy the banana foster after your great meal!!! But PLEASE MAKE room!!!

One of my favorite place to go to. It's big, theatrical, cozy and fun atmosphere. The servers are great but they always seem to be running and in a hurry. I don't know why. But I absolutely love the oysters! The only thing is that I wish they clean or at least rinse off the outer shell because some are just disgustingly dirty. But I alligator appetizer, salmon Rosetta, and sushi!! read more

Alligator bites = yum atmosphere is okay, beer list is okay, rest of the food really doesn't stand out in any way and is a bit overpriced. read more

Went for dinner last night and had the best dining experience I've had in a while. I'm a server so I'm a tough critic with that being said our server Brandon was fantastic, attentive and super friendly. Training someone and not letting it effect your work is a difficult task but he did it perfectly. for the food...my filet was cooked the perfect medium rare, it's a difficult cut to get medium rare but the chef did an amazing job. It was the best filet I've had in a while and is definitely my go to from now on! All around amazing dinner experience read more

The Hurricane was good:) The Gumbo Ya Ya was good. The Alligator Voodoo was great, no oversized, under cooked pieces. The service was great. The Jumbalaya was nasty! They used cumin to season it. The manager said they had to "northernize" it. Why? Neither of the other two Fishbones felt the need to do this. And Jumbalaya is on the New Orleans part of the menu. If someone wants to eat northern, pick from the rest of the menu.Further, if you felt the need to tone down the spiciness, why would you select such a strong ( I could smell it as soon as she out the plate down) spice that is used and associated with other ethic dishes. The pasta Orleans was good but the sauce was watery. read more

Really delicious food and excellent service! Huge menu with something for everyone! A little pricey, but worth it!

Our meal for two people came out to $70 (including tip) for a below average meal and experience. We ordered the battered mushrooms for an appetizer which came out hot and fast. I ordered the fish and chips which was disappointing. The fish and chips cost $20 and you got three pieces and a good amount of fries. I wouldn't mind paying that much for a meal if it was good, but it wasn't. The batter was light but not seasoned the fish was kinda rubbery, and the tartar sauce tasted like a flavorless watery smoke bomb. The butter they give you with the bread just tasted like old bacon grease, I don't know what it was supposed to taste like but it wasn't good either. My boyfriend got the Pasta Orleans and he enjoyed that at least, we went here for the first time for his birthday, but it was very underwhelming. I wouldn't recommend this place and usually I'm all for second chances but at the price the food is you can definitely find way better for way less somewhere else. read more

Came here with a group of 9 and the waiter was completely incapable of providing any level of customer service. When the manager was notified of the poor customer service and that one of our members did not get their dinner he blamed it on the fact that there were separate checks written. read more

Great place for after work. Good bands bring in the locals. Food has always been excellent. I am usually at the sushi bar but have attended office functions and holiday parties in the private rooms available for such. The staff has been very helpful and accommodating. If you can not get downtown for the weekend, this is the next best place to hang out. read more

Came here for an early lunch on a Saturday and the place was basically empty. Not complaining though! Love the ambience and decor of the place- very laid-back and Americana-esque. It's the kind of place that instantly lifts your mood the moment you walk in. We started off with an order of their giant onion rings. Crispy, golden brown and fried to perfection with some awesome dipping sauce- I cannot recommend these enough! My BF and I ordered the Shrimp & Chicken Jambalaya and the Pasta Orleans. BF had to run out for about 15 mins in the middle of the meal and our server was kind enough to hold off on our order being prepared so that BF wouldn't have to come back to a cold meal. The Jambalaya was full of tender chunks of meat and seafood and extra spicy- just as we had ordered. Pasta Orleans provided a nice creamy balance to the heat of the jambalaya. Their menu is extensive- would definitely return to try more of it out! read more

Nice atmosphere, decent service but the Jambalaya was not very good. Was almost as if they dumped a can of warm tomato paste over the top. Way too rich and thick for Jambalaya. I also had to dump on a good amount of hot sauce to try and get some flavor, other than tomato sauce. I've had this dish at the Fishbones in Detroit many times and it was always delicious. This being my first visit to this location, I asked my server if the two Fishbones were related. She stated that they were, although a lot of customers say that the food is not the same. For which I concur. Hate to bash them over a single dish, but you know what they say about first impressions. read more

I ordered the seafood gumbo and a spicy tuna roll. Both were good, not exceptional, but tasty. The rolls were nice and hot. My drink was a bit weak so I didn't bother ordering another. The server was nice. Overall, it was an average experience. I would go back in the future but it wouldn't be first on my list. read more

Just had dinner here and the service from the waiter (Jesse) was horrible. He was slothful regarding attending to our table, order and requests. While we were waiting for him to take our order, he was visibly wondering around tossing the empty food tray and playing with the hostess at the front door. When I addressed his playing around, his response was that he was hyper. When he brought the wine that was ordered, I asked him about the glass being visibility dirty, his response was that it was probably dirty before he brought it to the table. I have eaten at this location several times, but based on Jesse's careless attitude and this overall poor experience, it will be the last time. read more

Not only was the sushi fantastic, our waitress was fun. Bobbie made our night one to remember. Thanks Bulltank

The food is not great, but it is good... It's a trendy place that has a great atmosphere to meet friends for a casual night of food and drinks. The service can be hit or miss, my biggest complaint is their policy/unwillingness to split bills even when asked at the beginning when ordering. read more

had the cooked oysters with the lemon and parmesan as well as the saganaki and I dont know what made me ill but let's just say, I've had to stay close to the bathroom all day! it's unfortunate cuz it tasted yummy at the time, but not worth the agony I'm in today :( read more

Fantastic food. Awful service. Waitress was slow, and was often too busy socializing with the male waitstaff to pay attention to her tables.

I have been going to this fishbones consistently for the last few months, and each time the quality in care of food has gotten worse. I get the lemon rice soup and seafood gumbo to go and the last few times they have made the soups and gumbo very brothy. In addition, when I get more than 2 rolls of bread (typically 4 or more) I am only given 1 container of butter. I can't speak on the care/quality of people's food when they dine in, but as far as the food when you carry out there needs to be much better service! read more

I came here in the spring and really enjoyed the food, service and drinks. When I visited in the fall I was very disappointed. The service was awful considering the place was not busy at all for a weekend evening. We were told they didn't have mussels (not sure why that would be, they were on the menu), so we ordered the crawfish. Not impressed. The drinks weren't anything special. The waitress seemed bothered. The coconut shrimp were good. The crawfish etoufee was much better on my visit in spring. The pasta orleans was just ok. Dessert was really good. However, it wasn't house made. It was from Wally's frozen custard. Most likely, I won't return. read more

What a Bad Joke this restaurant is. About the only thing going for it is that it is near the water along Jefferson. I have been to this restaurant several times and have almost never had a pleasant experience. Either the staff have been down right Rude or the food ( which is way over priced for it's quality) has been awful! I am a near by resident and always hope that my next visit will be a better experience! Last night thinking such, I decided to once again give it another chance! However, me and my guests, who traveled all the way from Rochester, mi. Were reminded why I (we) dislike this restaurant! After being seated by the hostess, She then returned ten minutes later saying we had to move because that section of tables was reserved! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! You never seat a guest and then demand them to move! I of course asked to speak to the management! He came to the table only also to inform us to move! AS IF WE WONDERED TO THE TABLE OURSELVES AND JUST DECIDED TO SIT THERE! I informed him that we wee not moving and the hostess had seated us there! By this time We had been seated for about 20 minutes! He then turned and left Abruptly and Rudely and without any apology! REALLY?! WE then considered leaving. And in hind site absolutely should have! My guests were hungry and decided to stay! The waitress finally came took our order and was Cordial. About an hour later our food arrived! It was only Luke warm! And the expensive Susi was mediocre! NEVER EVER WILL I GO BACK THERE OR RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT! ! read more

Use to be great like five years ago but has now turned into a place with good food but less than desirable service. It's fine if you get carry out, if you plan to dine in expect orders to be slow or wrong, incorrectly charged almost every time, and a rude manager that doesn't care to fix anything. Someone needs to teach these people good customer service. read more

Not good...Pasta Orleans tasted water down with no seafood, Salmon and Tuna rolls were tasteless and room temperature. Pop was flat, bread was tasteless and cold. Will not be back anytime soon. read more

My daughter and I went to this establishment for dinner today. I have been here before and had a fine experience so going again wasn't a question. Today's experience however was NOT a good one. What the best part is was that I went on to their facebook site to provide a review. I attempted to write up what the experience was only to hit the submit button to be "BLOCKED" by the page admin. I was only trying to provide feedback . Perhaps coaching opportunities for their staff to make someone else's experience better than ours. Very petty for a business not to be able to take constructive critique. Our server was fine, our food however NOT SO GOOD. When our server approached us (even before we had menu's) asked if we would like a drink. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay. She said "is Kendall Jackson ok", i said yes i guess so. Normally a good server will let you now of all of the wines they serve, especially the house wine. This didn't happen. Little did i know the cost of said glass of wine. $15 !! really !! i could have purchased an entire bottle for that much. We noticed as we waited for our appetizer (the tempora lobster) it came however was just ok. Nothing great about it. Very rubbery, chalk it up to "well i won't order that again" that there were fruit flies everywhere. Flying around our food, and actually landed on our plates. I had to cover my wine glass with a napkin to avoid them going into my over priced wine. Our entree came and mine (the fish and chips) came cold. There was no flavor and very bland. The fries that came with the fish were not freshly made and tasted like they sat out only to get cold along with the fish. Only two bites or so were consumed and i left the rest. I didn't complain about food or even send it back as my daughter was enjoying her sushi. I wasn't trying to get something for free or comp'd. Just wanted to pay the bill and get the heck out of there. When it was time to pay the bill our server left the bill and then went MIA. I had to walk up to the bar to request they cash me out. I tipped our server the standard 20% however when I am spending over $100 plus the tip I expected a better meal and experience then what we got. I didn't expect to have to wave flies away from our food and drinks. It was very disappointing and i won't be going back. The issue is that when i attempted to provide a review (which wasn't even the worse you can give) only to be blocked, well that is just petty and not very good business. read more

First this review is only referring to the service we received on 8/25/16 at the patio bar. We met another couple there for drinks and to say the service was bad would be an under statement to the point where I would have thought we were being punked. The first round of drinks, Moscow mules, was good and well made. After that the service went downhill like a car off a cliff. The bartenders were more interested in talking to people at the other end of the bar than serving customers and then just plain disappeared. Not one time did they stop by to ask how the drinks were or if we needed another drink. When we needed another drink we did the "half raised arm" thing and were ignored. We tried the "excuse me" and were ignored, we tried raising our arms up as if signaling that the field goal was good and were ignored. When I say ignored I mean walked right past us without even looking when we tried to get their attention. We were trying to be nice but finally the only way to get a drink was yelling at the bartenders to get their attention and then it appeared we were bothering them by ordering more drinks. This is not the service we would expect at this type of a restaurant and left for another bar because of the poor service. read more

I went to fish bone and had the steak and blue cheese which is all fatty and tough then we had our sushi which came to the table smelled like cat food never again read more

What the hell happened to this place!!!?? Went on 5/14/16 at 4:50. Seemed to be some confusion up front with the 6 hostesses to where to seat anyone. After 5 minutes or so we were seated. There was a girl working the section but she didn't shat anything tonus and so we thought maybe we weren't her table Then waited 15 minutes until I had to pull another server over and asked if someone can take our drink order or even acknowledge us. All while the server ( girl working our section) that actually had our table continued to bounce between both tables next to us. Still no eye contact or even a simple be right with you! The server who I called over came back and said they where trying to see where the server went?! Um, ok I hope you find her...this server was nice enough to take our drink order and went to put it in. While doing so right by our table mind you she told our server the situation. Our server loudly said I was just over there! Well not the case. Waited another 10 minutes... Our drinks never came. Our server still didn't come to the table after touching base with the two table next to us...again!!! All this time she is just hitting up two tables that are closing up the bill. So apparently she was unable to do anything else. She kept walking quickly by our table as if she was making a point not to serve us. After 25 minutes we all got up and left. Told the girls upfront the situation and they asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. I told them that wouldn't change a thing since the manager seems to be derelict and should actually be managing the staff on the floor!!! So many choices in GPW/Nautical mile area...never dropping another $200 + tab on this place again. Fire the managers and hire people that will actually lead and support the servers and hold accountable the terrible ones. From the looks of it I'm not the only one that feels this way. read more

The dinner of shrimp in creole sauce was inedible. Nothing Cajun about this place just bad food. Sent back my cocktail of vodka/tonic, too sweet. The waitress was very accommodating. Another sports bar in search of a soul. read more

The sushi is amazing and our waiter was exceptional! The atmosphere was great ..not too stuffy but still classey. (There are some sweet little secluded tables that i will request next time.) I go to Fishbone's on a regular basis maybe 2 times a month. I always order the Pasta Orleans with seafood. My husband order steak. They brought his food first. Then mine with no seafood. When I informed the waiter he said we can add the seafood or make it over. They made it over. It took so long and it was snowing outside. I asked to see the manager. I told the manager that I had come to eat dinner with my husband. He felt like he had to share with me because I was watching him eat as they re-prepared my dinner. We had a previous engagement and was running late because of their error and I wanted to be compensated for it. They gave me my dinner free. They salads are getting small too. I don't understand. HOW MUCH CAN ONE OF THOSE LITTLE SALADS COST... REALLY. read more

Really slow service and very mediocre food. 30 minutes for appetizer, skipped salad and another 20 minutes for entree. Manager offered a dessert as compensation for missed course but server never brought it. read more

Mediocre sushi, but for unsophisticated eastsiders its acceptable. Waitress insisted nigiri sushi came with rice or not. ....Honey it's called sashimi if its fish only. Fishbones gone downhill since it opened in Greektown back it the day the food was great when they had some bro's cooking the gumbo. I can't get too exccited in any sushi place when I see Chinese dudes rolling the Japanese sushi. Menu was generally overpriced but expected since you're probaly paying for the owners next real estate investment on Lakeshore drive. Best suchi is Noble fish in Clawson or One world Market in Novi where you'll get real Japanese rolling your maki. read more

Over priced for the quality of food. Seems to have gone down hill over the years and kinda depends on who is in the kitchen that day. Some of the staff seem like they don't want to be there and aren't real friendly. Only go there if we get a gift card, wouldn't spend our own money there. read more

Visited here for the first time and I was really excited about the menu (I had looked it up online prior) as I love cajun style food. Boy was I disappointed. We ordered quite a few different appetizers including the Alligator and Calamari. Both seemed like they were made from a GFS bag. Absolutely nothing special about either. I ordered the Crawfish etouffee and my wife ordered the filet and lobster. The crawfish dish was ok but here filet and lobster just plain stunk. For $30 you'd think it would be good but not so much. About the only thing about the food that I would say was worth wile was the sushi. It was really good but kinda strange to have it at a New Orleans themed restaurant. To top things off the service was horrible to. The drinks were watered down as well. I won't be back. There are plenty of other places in this area that are much better for the same price. read more
