My husband and I dined here. The fish was absolutely wonderful, the sides tasty and the service (Rex) exceptional. If you're looking for a warm atmosphere and a step above the rest in flavor, give Fish Thyme a try. It was definitely worth the drive for us. =) read more

I wanted to like this place so bad but the service was horrible horrible horrible. Never again. I took a friend there ...her first time and it was embarrassing read more

Last minute decision on a Friday coming back from Emory appt off Clifton.... Got there early made reservations from patio. Leon was our waiter for the evening!!! He is the best most professional I have had in years! Knowledgeable and sooo sweet! Now to the food: Awesome we all cleaned plates along with deserts! Stuffed Flounder Ribeye Bang Bang Shrimp Kale salad Garlic Mashed Potatoes Lava Cake! Reservation highly recommended! But they will fit you in! This place is a hidden gem. Thankfully I don't have to go to the ATL for good seafood! Keep it up and you will be knocking out the building next door for more space and seating! read more

This is a nice restaurant if you're looking for some upscale patio action. Great for get togethers with friends. I wouldn't recommend for little kids or picky eaters. read more

Fish Thyme restaurant review. **Long post. Rated 1 out of 5 stars on visit. 8/20/2023 We were highly disappointed. I was excited about going to Fish Thyme because it is one of my favorite restaurants and always had excellent food and service. Also, it was my first time out of the house in 13 days because I just had a knee replacement. We arrived around 7pm and were seated immediately. Our waiter came to the table and asked what we would like to drink. He did not introduce himself or discuss the specials. Drinks arrived and he asked if we wanted any appetizers. We ordered a dozen raw oysters on the half shell and ordered our entrees. The oysters arrived quickly with a basket of broken crackers. They were much smaller than I have gotten there before. We didn't have any silverware. After about 4 minutes we finally saw our waiter and asked for silverware. A food runner brought out our entrees. We ordered the full portion of swordfish and a full order of ahi tuna, which 2 of us were going to share the tuna and had told our waiter we would need an extra plate. After several minutes, we finally saw our waiter and asked for the extra plate which was delivered quickly. We were finished with the oysters, but he did not remove them from our table. Then I asked his name, Jason. The swordfish was delicious. The tuna was not seared rare as we ordered, it was overcooked and very dry. The swordfish was much smaller than the tuna we ordered. I asked Jason if it was a full portion, He said he would check the ticket and ask the chef to be sure. He came back and said it was done by weight and that it was indeed a full portion. We finished our meal, without Jason having checked on us once while eating. Our waiter asked if we were interested in dessert, we said yes. *He then picked up the oyster tray, placed it on top of my husband's plate and then took our sons plate and put it on top of that. All this was done right in front of my husband, making him move back from the table to ensure nothing got on his clothing. *Because we said we were interested in dessert, Jason returned with the main dinner menu and then proceeded to get a very small folded up piece of paper from his front pocket, which was the daily specials. He pulled this out of his front pocket and opened it directly on top of my husband's drink. That was about all we could take and asked for the check immediately. There was no "thank you" or "come again". We left. We wanted to take photos by the fire pit outside, but another employee and a friend were taking selfies for over ten minutes, so we didn't get that moment. In the future, I hope that Jason and maybe your other employees get some more training and get up to the standards I expected and have experienced in the past. read more

Amazing food and and atmosphere poor service. Went here for the first time to celebrate my birthday. Everything was great but we were very disappointed with our food server. He never checked with us after delivering our appetizers or after our entree was brought out. Will try again and hopefully get a better server. read more

I was really excited to visit this restaurant due to the stellar reviews. The ambiance was great, and the service was fantastic. Unfortunately the food wasn't as great. Maybe it was due to high expectations. We had oysters rockfeller and bang bang shrimp for appetizers. The shrimp were great, and the oysters were pretty good as well. The bread served with the oysters was my favorite part of everything I ate! For our main meal, I had the Ahi Tuna, and it was okay. I did eat it all, however it was certainly overcooked. I had the mashed sweet potato, which I enjoyed, and the truffle parmesean fries that weren't very good. They tasted flavorless and tasted as if they had been sittijg for a while, or maybe re-heated. My boyfriend had the stuffed salmon. He enjoyed his mashed potato and creamed spinch sides, but the "stuffed" salmon barely had any crab filling, and he said the whole main entree was flavorless. It does come with a sauce on the side. My mom had the salmon with mashed potatoes and kale salad, and she enjoyed her meal. We also had dessert. We tried the creme brulee and chocolate charlotte. The creme brulee had strawberries and blueberries and had a nice flavor, but we didn't love chocolate dessert. It was much too rich, abd the lady fingers were stale. All in all, the evening was nice, and the dinner wasn't terrible, but with the flavorless and overcooked food, we won't be returning. But we had a fun night, and the service from Dominick was great. read more

The food was okay - definitely overpriced. I felt like I could have cooked it in my own kitchen. Service was great and the vibe was cool.

Food was ok service was good. For me the bathroom wasn't kept. The food had too much sugar and butter for someone eating healthy. Side were large. read more

Great atmosphere, excellent service and even better food. We will go back as soon as we can.

Best food we've had in a long time! Our waiter Trenton was fabulous. We sat outside on a lovely evening and everything was perfect. The portions are great for sharing. We'll be regular customers! read more

I've been eating at Fish Thyme for years and the food is consistently delicious! Reservations are necessary as it's always very busy. It's a pretty restaurant but a bit loud, not a quiet romantic atmosphere if that's what you like. Good place to go with friends. read more

Cool atmosphere, amazing staff, delicious dessert, main meal was mediocre especially for the price. Only because of price am I not sure I'd be willing to give it another chance or not. read more

This was one of the best meals and service I've had in a very long time. Let me start by saying that our waitress, Nausiera, was cheery, helpful, and made our experience even better. We were invited in by a pleasant hostess, and taken to a romantic little table with the most comfortable lounge style chairs. Great food AND comfort, yes please. The menu looked fantastic, and our waitress helped us navigate it adding personal and local favorites. She also checked on us throughout the meal at just the right times. I chose the naked salmon with an Oscar-style sauce, butter and fresh crab. My sides were a mashed sweet potato and cucumber salad, and also a starter entree salad. My boyfriend chose the stuffed salmon with a fresh kale and greens mix, and their version of hashbrowns. I am pretty sure all you could hear for the first ten minutes at our table were ooohs aaahs, and "oh, that is SO good!" Everything was cooked to perfection. It was fresh with just the right balance of flavors. Both salmon dishes (of course I tried his) were some of the best salmon I've ever had. Did I mention they serve each dish with an adorable sprig of fresh thyme? What a unique signature! I see what you did there, Fish Thyme. We were completely stuffed, but had to try the pineapple bread pudding. Now let me just tell you, I'm a chocolate girl, but this, THIS was amazing!! I never choose a dish with raisins and sans chocolate, and had resigned myself to only trying a bite. That went out the window after the first bite. I'm not sure what to call it other than sweet sublimity! I felt the price was fair for the food, service, and ambiance. I actually expected our bill to be a bit higher. Nausiera packed up my cucumbers, the only thing I didn't finish, and we left. It was storming terribly! After we were just up the sidewalk, our waitress came running out with my cucumbers in hand, in the rain! Needless to say, this place moved to the top of some of my favorites and we will most certainly be back. Our only regret is not saving this for an anniversary or birthday. No problem though, we will be back. read more

Not impressed. Seating was very uncomfortable, chairs were too tall for the table. Service was slow, dinner was nothing to write home about. Definitely not worth the price. There are much better restaurants close by. read more

Food was "okay" at best. Pricey for what it is. Highly salted after I requested no extra salt. Slow service. Have heard from friends and neighbors this place is not consistent. Would give it another try as it has outdoor dining and a nice atmosphere. read more

The utmost in quality, service, and class in this area...wonderful for special occasions and the best food ever...don't skip dessert!

I've been trying to make a reservation over the last week or so, but....no way to get a table through their website, so I've called both before and during business hours, but no one answers so I left a message as instructed in their greeting, leaving my name, reservation date and time and number of guests. And I have yet to get a call back...very frustrating! Is this the best you can do? read more

A Great Place for Fish I've been to Fish Thyme twice and would recommend it to anyone who likes fish. My swordfish au poivre was delicious and properly prepared as was my wife's trout meunière. Our friends had grouper and another version of the swordfish and were equally pleased. Fish is hard to prepare because if you over cook it by just 30 seconds you ruin it. Fish Thyme knows how to cook it right. Their calamari appetizer is strips of julienned calamari steak, cut from the body, not the tentacles, fried and served with a mild sauce. The calamari is reminiscent of abalone for those of you who've had the pleasure of this wonderful, and now scarce mollusk . A great item for sharing. My only complaint is that on both visits I ordered a glass of wine to be served with my entrée. Both times, the wine arrived when I was half way through my meal. It is not easy to make a reservation at Fish Thyme. I tried using the "Reserve A Table" option offered by Google maps, but was unsuccessful My only option then was to call. Unfortunately, their phone is usually busy. I don't know if they are flooded with calls of just have the phone off the hook. Personally, I wish I could reserve a table through the Internet. I also wish they had a dress code. This is a nice place but may of the patrons, both time I've been there, were dressed like they should be somewhere where all the menu items start with "Mc . . ." read more

Look, I have memory problems. Some say it's disassociation, but even if it is, ALL my personalities remember how great this place is and enjoy it. I always order off the Chef's specials menu, and have never been stired wrong..or at least I don't think "I" have. The last item I ordered was the crab stuffed flounder, and since I'm a teacher it was like half a days pay for me, but worth it. Go big or don't eat. This place is the place which makes you realize you'd rather have a $120 date night once every two weeks or so than a cheaper date night every week. The service is always incredible, so incredible you feel like a slob for tipping anything less than 30%. One of the top 7 restaurants I've eaten at, and I'm moderately old, well traveled, and well fed. read more

Great food, outstanding service! Had the encrusted grouper and it was fresh and satisfying. My sides, cucumber salad and Parmesan truffle fried, were perfect accompaniments. In the past after dining @ this resident, I've got sick. I'm not sure if it's because the venue was crowded, but fish was not properly cook.

1st time we waited and couldn't get it we when back with a reservation and it was great! It was like a down town city meal in small town Acworth. The food was 5 star! We had stuffed salmon and crusted grouper. Both amazing! The backed oysters appetizer was my absolute favorite! Wait staff was good but not very personable. The guy who seemed to be the manager was amazing helpful and friendly. We are going back Valentine's Day! I will update review then. We are excited! read more

The food here is always consistent and I have never had anything I didn't like. Had the flounder with bacon blanc tonight for the first time and it was phenomenal. My husband got ribs (which I was skeptical to order at a seafood place) and they were fabulous as well and fell off the bone. Recommend their house Pinot Grigio as well as their strawberry shortcake. Our favorite place in Acworth. In Kennesaw, try their sister restaurant Capers. So yum and staff is always pleasant. They take reservations and do call ahead seating. read more
