We shared a massive 50-ounce ribeye, cooked beautifully and bursting with flavor. The meat was exceptionally tender, richly marbled, and perfectly prepared -- easily the kind of steak that justifies a visit on its own. Before the main course, we explored the sushi bar menu and ordered the crispy rice appetizer, which turned out to be one of the most memorable dishes of the evening. Tempura-fried sushi rice topped with spicy tuna, chili garlic, and a soy glaze created an incredible balance of texture and flavor -- crispy, spicy, savory, and slightly sweet all at once. It was a standout and a perfect example of the restaurant's successful fusion approach. The sides were solid complements to the meal. The fries were thick, plump, and pleasantly crunchy, while the sautéed onions were classic steakhouse fare done well. The bread service was another pleasant surprise, featuring soft, tender rolls alongside pão de queijo -- a delightful Brazilian touch that we did not expect but thoroughly enjoyed. For a two-person dinner -- including one appetizer, a large shared steak, two sides, and water (no alcohol or dessert) -- the total came to about $300 including a 20% tip. We celebrate my husbands bday. The place is cozy with inviting decor, with a wide selection of fine wine, sushi, prime rib, and fish Chilean Sea Bass and Grouper were full flavors and cooked to perfection. We also had a fresh and delicious Bluefin Tuna Platter. Not sure what happened but this place has really gone since our last visit. Really enjoyed it but was extremely disappointed and it spoiled our anniversary brunch. If you want to promote a high end experience and charge the prices you have to deliver for the customer. Walked in and the teen barely looked up from her phone and could not accommodate us in the far bar area by the windows at the high top tables like our last visit. Nope-even though only 2 people in the whole area that is now for "members". Okay??? Sat at another table in the restaurant area by the window. Very disappointed in food quality. I don't mind paying $23 for pancakes if atmosphere, service and quality are good but received burnt dried out pancakes - twice! Poor waiter apologized but the kitchen just couldn't do it?!? They credited the bill but spoiled the ambiance for us. You have to do way better if you want to continue with customers. The ambiance was absolutely stunning with white flower trees, a mini Aquarium (with a little crab and puffer fish), beautiful seasonal decor a heart for Valentine's Day and many other subtle touches. Almost as if the restaurant is alive and breathing with the staff ensuring every table is monitored and satisfied. Glass was never empty, plates never sat on the table long. NOW, let's talk about the food! For starters, the complimentary bread is delicious. The French onion soup -- honestly top 2 best French onion soups I ever had. The cheese was perfectly charred, broth was extremely flavorful, crouton/bread was perfect and attached to the cheese for ease of eating. Next, was our entrees I ordered the pettite Filet, mashed potatoes, and sautéed spinach. The filet was cooked perfectly with a unique flavor I have never personally tasted - paired with an Aju which was phenomenal. The mashed potatoes were served perfectly and tasted perfectly. Sautéed spinach was perfectly cooked - not too much - not too little, was extremely light with a slight taste of garlic and a welcoming flavor. My husband ordered the lobster pasta which he absolutely loved. It included scallops, shrimp and lobster. The cream sauce pasta was perfectly seasoned with the perfect flavor and thickness. We had dinner at Allatoona Grill Steakhouse tonight. The service was truly the highlight of the evening. Our server was attentive and kind, and the manager went above and beyond to check on us and make sure we were taken care of. We really appreciated that level of hospitality. The wine was excellent, and the stuffed mushrooms were delicious -- definitely the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, the steak itself was underwhelming. It wasn't terrible, but for a steakhouse, we expected much better in terms of flavor and quality. At that price point, it just didn't meet expectations. AG Steakhouse is one of my favorite places to eat. The quality of their food is superb. It's a bit pricey for Acworth, but the staff and the ambiance make it totally worth it! I can drive 10 minutes, sit on the lake, watch the sunset, while having quality food and drinks (unlike the other restaurants on the lake who serve mostly fried everything)... or when it's warm enough, I can drive my boat over and part at the dock while eating. Absolute excellence. This is a beautiful restaurant that overlooks Lake Allatoona. It's all windows inside and out. You feel like you're outside even when you're inside. Everything we ate was extremely well done. We started with a sushi roll. My compliments to the chef. We ordered scallops and almond crusted trout with a twice baked potato. Came here last night for New Years Eve as I have heard good things and it's decently close to home. Let me start by saying the steak (I ordered the petite filet w/ herb butter) was some of the best that I have had. The drinks were pretty good and very strong. We finished with a slice of cheesecake, decent but definitely not the best. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5...the noise level was insane and it seemed the waitresses changed on us mid service despite the original one still being there. We got sat at a table of around 20 whose volume the entire time was at a 10. My husband and I quite literally ended up just not speaking most of our meal because we were having to yell at each other to be heard. I understand this is not a reflection of the restaurant however it would have been nice for management to politely ask them to keep the volume down or offered a different table. The ambiance is definitely upscale and high class, although I saw some casually dressed customers. I would use this restaurant only for a very special occasion. My wife and I went here for our anniversary. I requested a lake side table. It was not ready when we arrived but were offered champagne at the bar while we wait. When the table was ready, it was the best in the house. Perfect sunset view over the lake. The meal was fantastic. Oysters rockefeller appetizer was perfect. The old fashioneds were great. I had Faroe Salmon and my wife got I believe red snapper. Both were delicious and the roasted brussel sprouts were the perfect side. At the end of the meal, they brought out a complementary creme brulee. For context, my best friend has been a vegan since I have known her. She and I visited AG Steakhouse on May 18th 2025 to celebrate the end of another week. The GM of the restaurant, Johnathan Schecter, asked the host to seat us at "the best seat in the house", brought out a chef-special for my vegan friend, and poured us a glass of champagne each (from an already open bottle). It was not long before he poured those glasses that he (the "GM") offered my vegan friend, a fully "vegan" menu. Pause - I want to be VERY clear that, especially being so close to someone with dietary restrictions, I understand how difficult it can sometimes be to accommodate their needs, especially in a fine dining setting. My friend and I have literally traveled the world to visit vegan restaurants, just for her to have the best experience she can. However, this was a "Vegan" menu that was being presented to us; meaning no animal products would be used in the preparation or plating of the dishes. Their menu. AG Steakhouse's "Vegan" menu. My friend chose (4) dishes from this menu. The first couldn't be made because they were missing a key ingredient in the dish, and we were not told until 15 minutes later. This was my friend's appetizer. The second, was a $9 avocado cucumber roll. The third, was a "grilled brussel sprout" dish, on the "vegan" menu. IT CAME OUT WITH BACON. The fourth, was fingerling potatoes. My friend ate roughly half of this dish before turning to me to have me taste them. You guessed it - cooked in BUTTER. No remorse shown from the 'owner' or the GM for violating a guest's trust. The executive chef couldn't even tell us whether or not it was cooked in butter (before he was "whisked away", 5 min before the kitchen closed). The GM then sent a third person out to deliver our check, with only the potatoes removed. When we asked to speak with the GM about removing the brussel sprouts dish, given the track record they now held, his response contained the following statements : "You made my server cry..." - ok... my friend burst into tears telling our server about the butter issue. This is someone who hasn't consumed animal products in YEARS. She will have repercussions that go beyond tonight's meal - NO ONE seemed to validate or acknowledge that fact. "The owner doesn't like you" again, ok... why are you sharing this with a guest?! Ready for the best one? "Maybe you should eat at home." Yep. He said that a guest in his restaurant, after not being able to uphold the standards that HIS restaurant made. He is a shameful partner that is a TICKING TIME BOMB and will only harm the, otherwise, beautiful experience. His attitude and straight up UNPROFESSIONALISM should not be tolerated. This guest trusted AG Steakhouse. They failed and then the GM tried to blame the guest for having the audacity to come to a restaurant in the first place. Never returning. read more

I feel like you can get a cheaper meal at Capital Grill, Ruth's Chris, Morton's, etc., with a more upscale feel to the restaurant. ...and what's with the valet parking? We used to be a fan of this place.. but their bait and switch they did for Valentine's Day was some shady stuff. They posted their menu early February, everything was "choice/share" or "choice/per" for the 4 courses and the title price was listed at the top of each package. A group of 6 of us made our reservations early that month. However, when we got to the restaurant for our dinner, they had changed the menu that morning, now the package price was "per person" and you still had to share the appetizer and dessert... so we had budgeted a certain amount before drinks and it now doubled. Absolutely VERY VERY disappointed in their bait and switch on Valentine's Day they knew people were not going to leave, plus by the time we knew the change we had some drinks. Went for lunch and ordered three sushi rolls (yellowtail with scallions, salmon, and eel with avocado). The eel was good, but it had quite a few bones....not filleted well. The other two rolls tasted like they'd been in the fridge for a while. My friend had the She Crab soup and said it was delicious. Service was "okay". Thought it was odd we were the only diners during the lunch hour. Clean, bright inviting atmosphere. Cool salt water fish tank. View of the lake overlooking dockage at Holiday Marina. Outside patio. Would be nice for having a drink and an app. Restaurant architecture looks like it should be on the beach in California or at least in Buckhead. Not next to what looks like an aged Tiki Hut at the Holiday Marina on Lake Allatoona. Don't know how such a high end pricy restaurant will survive in the woods of Acworth. Date of Visit: Sunday, August 18th, 12:30 PM I visited the Allatoona Grill (AG Steakhouse) this past Sunday with my family and friends, including my adult disabled daughter, Mackenzie Grace, for whom I am her court-appointed legal guardian. Due to her disabilities, Mackenzie has a service dog trained to assist with her specific needs. We were shocked and disappointed when the manager, Mr. Todd Casey, refused to seat us, stating that the Allatoona Grill is a private business and is not required to follow federal ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) regulations. I politely informed him that I believed this was inaccurate and that ADA laws are designed to protect people with disabilities from discrimination. Mr. Casey, however, insisted that the ADA did not apply to his establishment and reiterated that he would not allow us to be seated. Our party of six was forced to leave, feeling deeply concerned for Mackenzie Grace and the blatant discrimination she faced. On Monday, I contacted the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division and filed both verbal and written complaints. My hope is that the enforcement division will reach out to Mr. Casey to educate him on ADA regulations. I also hope they will help him understand his legal obligations as a public venue to accommodate people with disabilities, rather than imposing the standard fine schedule for those found guilty of discrimination and non-compliance. I believe Mr. Casey is likely a good person but is unfortunately not well-informed about his responsibilities under federal law. I sincerely hope that this situation will be addressed so that no other family has to experience the discrimination we faced at Allatoona Grill. read more

I am reposting my review from April 2024 since it was deleted. We recently visited AG Steak House hoping there would be a new quality restaurant addition to Acworth, which is badly needed. We viewed their website seeing the pictures of the entrees photoed by owner. Their menu is interesting as well as inviting. Not sure of the objective is of the owner. If they wanting to duplicate the better steakhouses in the city, their prices certainly reflect that, but what is served is not nearly in their league. We have dined at some of the best steakhouses in the US. AG falls short of just an ordinary restaurant serving prime steaks. I suggest they totally change their dining approach, menu and bar drinks. We need an excellent better than average restaurant that offers 5-8 excellent menu entrees, a few excellent sides and a few very good appetizers. 2-3 steaks, 3 seafoods, 2-3 specialty items. All priced $30-50. Sides being extra. Even serve an outstanding 8 oz Wagu burger grilled, not fried on a steel grill. Few places serve an outstanding burger. Large excellent salads as a main would be welcomed by many. Offer 1-2 excellent house made deserts and a few craft cocktails. Keep the full bar selections, and drop down the wine list to more reasonable priced bottles. Stop the high premium wines. If AG continues down the path it is on, I doubt it will be here July 4. The restaurant building is very nice, lake views are a plus. Remove that huge fish tank. Valet parking is not needed. The current staff could be effective in a scaled back operation. No idea about the kitchen staff. Only the owner can determine that. The area needs another quality restaurant, but it needs to fit the demographics. The current format misses too many to be successful. Wish the owner the best in reformatting this establishment. read more

I went to this restaurant and my experience started off very well, however it quickly took a devastating turn. I have dietary restrictions and asked if any of the food options could be made to accommodate my restrictions and to my guest and I's surprise, I was told there was an entire menu that accommodated my dietary restrictions. Upon reviewing the selections on the menu given to me by a manager, I ordered food from the menu that accommodated my dietary restrictions. About 10-15 mins later my server, who noted the dietary restricted menu in front of me, and had clarified to make sure I wanted food from that menu, told me they were out of an item, and therefore could not make what I ordered. I told them that was okay and proceeded to order different food items FROM THE SAME DIETARY RESTRICTED MENU. The food came out and the friend with whom I was dining ate the Brussels sprouts and found BACON in the Brussels sprouts that were ordered off a VEGAN MENU. I understand that not everyone adheres to a vegan diet and I greatly appreciate when there are vegan menu options on menus, but to have an entire vegan menu and then not follow through and execute that product is a minimum of false advertisement. After eating a few potatoes from a dish ordered off the dietary restricted menu, I began to wonder if the potatoes I ordered were actually vegan because they tasted different than normal. After speaking to the owner and general manager I found out they were cooked in BUTTER and I had in fact eaten dairy, which I'm allergic to. After expressing to the manager that I was upset after eating an allergen I was told that "maybe I should eat at home instead of eating out." That is very unprofessional for a manager to say to a paying customer with a common food allergy. Instead of taking accountability, the manager blamed me for having a food allergy instead of apologizing for his teams failure to accommodate for something they told me they could accommodate for. I am very disappointed with how I was treated, and will not be returning. Had the manager apologized for the mistake and attempted to make things right I would have been understanding, however, being told that I shouldn't go out to eat when I'm also presented with a menu that specifically accommodates me, exemplifies poor business practices. In my opinion a business should uphold the standards they share with the customers, if you're willing to create an entire VEGAN MENU, you should be able to execute that, otherwise don't offer it. read more
