Use to go here once a week when I lived in south Oceanside and get the mahi burger but substitute with seaworld fish...recently moved to Bressi Ranch and tried to place my usual order and was told that there are no fish substitutions. I'd say this place is more of a 4.5/ 5. I always eat stop by when I'm in the area, and I think out of the few times I've been there it was only not crowded once. Either people love this place that much, or my timing is just horrible. But even if it's busy I'm always assisted almost immediately and my food is always ready pretty quick. The quality of the fish in their Poke Bowls is so fresh! I trust the Poke Bowl here over some of the Poki joints in Clairemont. My kids get the Chicken Tenders and Fish and Chips. But I always end up stealing their Fries. They weren't a huge fan of the Caper Sauce that came with it, but I enjoyed it. I've been eyeing Chowder Bacon Fries for a while so that's what I'm ordering next time I go in. James and Sherwin are always very friendly. My husband and I tried this restaurant for a late lunch one Thursday afternoon and we were not disappointed! The quality of the fish was great and the portions were okay. I thought it was pricey for fish and chips in a "fast food" setting. I had the halibut and my husband had the mahi mahi. I live in Bressi Ranch and have been here before and really enjoy the food. BUT when I went today 11/22/20 at 2PM we barely got acknowledged while at the ordering counter.  Then the girl with dark hair said she would be with us as we watcher her pack up several orders. After about 10 minutes we addressed her and she said she needed to bring food to guests outside. Then when she came back in she went back to packing up orders.  As we walked out we said you know, you just lost 2 customers and she said that's fine.  Not the customer service I expect and sadly I will not be back.  Just saying something like sorry about the wait, we are really busy or any kind of gesture would have kept us in line but her attitude was not great.  It's a bummer since we walk to eat in the area all the time. #disappointment read more

They give large portions with a good drink variety. It's a small place (probably seats 25 people) and there are some seats outside but if you're planning to feed a lot of people then I would order to-go. There were only a few customers there and we ordered about $60 worth of food between the four of us. Our food came out a little under 10 minutes after we placed the order. The food here was so so good. The reason I'm leaving 2 stars was for 2 reasons. The guy handling the food in the window and bringing out all the food was eating as he was touching other people's food! That's so gross to me. I didn't see this until after I ate mine. I got the ahi tacos. So so good! But by the time my fiancé got his meal. I had already eaten all mine. He got his food maybe 15 mins after mine. The place was pretty crowded when I went in. This place has a pretty casual vibe and there were a few tables inside and a few outside as well if you wanted to sit down and enjoy your meal there and most of those seats were already taken. I ordered a cup of the clam chowder and grilled ahi tacos Baja style. Wait time was around 10 mins. Clam chowder was delicious and pretty filling. Tacos had a generous fish portion and the seasoning was not too over powering, it was just right. I managed to finish only 2 of the tacos because they were pretty filling. I've wanted to try this place for awhile. It is in a cute little part of Bressi Ranch. The decor and restaurant were nicely decorated and very clean. It took awhile for me to decide because there are a lot of things on the menu and while it's nicely designed it can be confusing. You have to wait in line and order at the counter. I went with two fish tacos - mahi mahi and Ahi Tuna and added avocado for an extra $.50 each. I also got a beer from their nice local craft beer selection. Both tacos had good flavor, however the Ahi was tough and chew. I wouldn't order that again. For the price I was expecting more, size and flavor wise. I do not know why I haven't tried this place before...awesome! I ordered the Spicy Tuna Negi roll and a Baja Beer Battered Shrimp Taco, both were reasonably priced and delicious. The tuna roll was one of the most flavorful I have ever had, the taco had two large shrimp and was perfectly cooked. My son joined me and had three various taco's which he thoroughly enjoyed. We went right at lunch time and were served quickly and found the staff to be very pleasant. COVID-19 protocols were in place, customers were masked and social distancing, and the staff appeared to be following the guidelines as well. I will definitely be back to this place for my Spicy Tuna Roll fix soon, much better than the quick pick up place at Stater Bros or Vons, and better than most Sushi restaurants around here.
