Not what I was expecting but it was alright. Decent service. Solid seafood dishes. A bit expensive but the ambiance was pleasant.

Splendid fish n chips! Very light flaky batter and tender fish. And the whiskey cream is to die for!

We came here to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We were seated fairly quickly. The food took a bit. Our waiter provided good service as well. Now for the food. We started the with the oysters, the grilled prawns, and fish and chips. So here's where the four stars comes in. The oysters were pretty disappointing. It was dry, like how can one ruin oysters and dry them? The prawns on other hand were good as well as the fish and chips the tartar sauce was delicious. For our mains, we had the mussels, the chicken burger, and the cod risotto. I definitely recommend ordering the mussels, really flavorful. The burger was just that, nothing spectacular and the risotto was ok too. The cod on the risotto was good but the risotto itself was too grainy. The dessert was the sticky toffee cake it was so good super delicious. Overall food was good, the cleanliness of the restaurant needs improvement. The bathrooms were not well kept and the tables weren't wiped down good. Some on the dishes had food stuck on the back of the plates. But that's why I gave four stars. I do recommend you try the restaurant they offer good food, hopefully the owner can have staff regularly check the cleanliness of the store. But if I were back in Ireland I would come back here. Also forgot to note they did make it special for our daughters birthday!

The interior of the restaurant is small and fusion , and the food was good. I just feel that the waiter is a little rigid and not very enthusiastic. Maybe it's because I'm Asian.

Located on a pedestrian mall in the heart of the city, the outdoor tables are great for people watching. Even better, the fish n chips and haloumi cheese with mushrooms were delicious. Lots of choices on the menu, along with numerous beers and cocktails.

The food here was good but portions where a little small. The kids meal was decently portioned and delicious. The service however was not as attentive since it looked like most of the servers were attending to the outdoor tables and not the indoor ones. The kids had a sausage and pasta plate while I had the seafood stew mix which was good but small. I would actually check out the other restaurants around the area since there are plentiful but if you are looking for seafood, then this is a place to check out.

    Fish and chips

The food was phenomenal and the service was speedy and friendly. The restaurant was clean but small inside so if it's raining seating is limited. If it's a nice day there is outside seating which doubles their capacity. I'd recommend this spot.

Given the location, it *may* be a tourist trap. But it looked that local people was dining here as well. Decor looked pretty new and pristine. It was hip like a fusion restaurant which was quite contrary to what I have imagined as a "chip shop". Looking at the menu, I noticed that there were options of fish 'n chips - Cod or Haddock. For some reason, haddocks are hard to come by in Japan. So, I picked the Haddock in a heartbeat. As I had a quite disappointing chowder a few days prior and was seeking redemption, I couldn't resist not picking up their seafood chowder. The chowder came first. The bowl was as big as I hoped. And it had generous amount of salmon, clams, herbs and potatoes. And it turned out that this was the best chowder I had in long time. It reminded me of my good old New England days when I had no trouble finding good ones. Then fish 'n chips came. Its texture could tell that it was fresh as soon as I bit into it. Breading wasn't too oily. It was nicely crispy which added more satisfaction to it. And their local pilsner, "Mourne Mist" was perfect match to the foods. The waitress was very helpful and pleasant. She definitely sealed one last star to make this place "5". Locals may have different opinions, but if you are visiting, looking for good, solid, fish 'n chips? I highly recommend here. It will not fail you.

Got the fish and chips with peas and tartare sauce. The tartare sauce was just okay. I personally loved the mushy green peas because it was different from the usual one. The fried was just truly bland i thought i got covid needed to add a lot of vinegars, ketchup and salt and pepper. Before cooking the chips, it should be submerged with salt water so that the potato can absorb the salt. The fish was just okay. Cheers!

Very clean and nice staff. Food was reasonably priced but nothing spectacular. Had a seafood chowder and a seafood linguine. Average taste.

I secured an online reservation last minute, and I am so glad we had the chance to dine here! Mourne Seafood Bar is in Belfast's City Center, next to Kelly's Cellars pub which was bustling at 9PM. Our oysters were brought out in 5 minutes; the mains took 20 minutes. In my experience, the service was standard. What we ordered: -1/2 dozen of natural oysters: This was my FIRST time ever eating oysters. I was pleasantly surprised of how fresh, non-fishy smelling, and non-slimy they were! I tried the oysters by themselves, then with lemon and Tabasco, which I find more tasty as they enhance the flavors. -Beer battered cod and chips with mushy peas and tartare: The cod portion was HUGE and piping hot. The cod was properly cooked, not dried out as other fish and chips eateries. The thick steak fries were crispy on the exterior and fluffy on the interior. I did not like the mushy peas as a personal preference. -Pan fried fillet of seabass: Absolutely delicious. The seabass was flakey with a crispy skin. Clams were properly cooked. Saffron mashed potatoes supported the fish. It was a hearty and balanced meal. -Rockshore cider: This tastes like your standard apple cider. It is crisp and sweet and does not taste like alcohol. Atmosphere/Layout: It is a very narrow restaurant that can fit maybe 40 diners inside. The tables are very small too. I would recommend having a reservation due to the limited space. It was warm inside, which is nice from the brisk, windy weather. Diners seem to be all locals catching up over a meal and every table around us had wine or alcohol.

I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and really badly want to go back asap. The interior is just the kind I love, all starched linen tablecloths and napkins. The atmosphere however is not starched, well not at our table anyway and no-one complained so it must be the kind of place you don't have to whisper. Tedfords is famous as a seafood restaurant which fits with its location right down at the water in Belfast. I had smoked salmon, crab mayo and quail egg. Without the quail egg. If you've read any of my other reviews, you'll know that eggs make me hurl. The good news is that the waiter didn't huff or puff of look as if he felt sorry for me. The other good news is that the salmon was fab - delicate and beautifully flavoured. I felt obliged to have fish again for main course and boy was I glad. On of my group had recommended the curried monkfish and I now do too. It was sublime - the meaty fish was matched brilliantly by the creamy sauce and fragrant coconut rice. I was all full up with no room for desert but managed 2 spoons of the husband's chocolate soufflé with fresh (huge) strawberries. Bliss. Tedford's is certainly not cheap but for a special night out as a couple or with friends, it is my new must go to.

The ambiance is cozy, upscale, and yet makes for a nice place to hang out with friends. Go for the pork belly which comes as a big chunk of meat, perfectly seared and chewy. The monkfish was the standout of the night. I was congratulated for my menu prowess with a "best lineup of the night" comment, but I think the monkfish was the MVP. The lobster roll was crispy, buttery but not watery, and substantial without being overly fishy. The curry sauce that accompanied the dish, I could have eaten alone or just with the rice though the thick cut and well seasoned fish made it all the better. All around the mulberry bush, the monkfish was the best I've had. Dessert was this assortment of sweets that put together I think looks like a muppet's head. The peanut butter ice cream was delicious with a great balance of sweet and slight salty savoryness. The custardy chocolate was also excellent and on the dark side which offset the sweetness of the ice cream. The crispy biscuits provided a texture difference and cut through the sweetness to keep it from getting cloying. The service was a bit aloof though. Our waiter over-poured prosecco to overfill the glass, spilled wine on the table, and nearly knocked out someone with a plate.o the owner or employees.

Service was brisk and cost excellent at circa £5 for my meal plus a bottle of mineral water. Grapevine's major drawback is the size, it's a very small cafe with few seats. This puts me in a good position to critique it in relation to the others. The positives of Grapevine are there for all to see, it is in an excellent central location for both office workers and hungry shoppers. It also has brilliant outside seating. Smokers will feel welcome, as each table is equipped with an ashtray, which is actually something you don't see too often these days. Inside they have Special Boards literally crammed full of delicious lunch options. Whitebean Stew and Homemade bread caught my eye and it's definitely something I'm going to try on my next visit, provided it hasn't been scrubbed off the specials board. I love the seating set up inside; they have those big high benches with stools that face out and you can sit and watch the world go by while enjoying a coffee, bit of fruit or a hearty stew. Overall I think the Grapevine is an endearing wee café, it's got everything you want from a city center food shack - beaut grub and a relaxing set up, I'll be back that's for sure.

It's right next to the river and has loads of outdoor seating, so on a good day, there's nothing nicer than having a cold drink and watching the world go by. On the other hand, the location is about all I like about it. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the staff can be a little disinterested. IT also gets stupidly busy on a Saturday night, so if it's not warm enough to be outside, you're packed inside like sardines! The food is so-so. I find it over-priced for the quality you get. I remember once calling in after a mammoth walk around Belvoir forest. I was totally famished and didn't think I'd make it back to my boyfriend's ouse without re-fuelling, so I stopped in and ordered a panini. It was horrible, there was hardly anything to it and it cost something stupid like £7! I ended up having to go round to the chippy a bit later to actually fill myself up! The toilets are also some of the worst I've experienced. There aren't as bad as some other places (Rain, I'm looking at you), but on a busy night they just never seem to be clean. I don't know whether this is because of ineffective cleaning from the staff or if the customers are all just dirty brutes! I think I'll sit on the fence for this one. I'd definitely recommend it on a summer's day, but I'd probably tell you to avoid it after dark!
