I want to go back on a sunny day and sit outside as it is right beside the Lagan.

It was the biggest sticking point for me before I went and I took more than my fair share of persuasion before I went. On my first and last visit, I was with friends who have frequented the place more than once so I followed behind them and did as they did. It's really not the sort of place I would ever visit again. You can bring your own alcohol which makes it more bearable. However, I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable throughout it as it just is not my sort of thing. Ironically Shisha is meant to help you relax. For some people, this is the perfect place to go and chill out and for that reason you are welcome to it. I would rather a pub and a club to loosen myself up. It can often be over used but this is the epitome of 'you'll like it if it's your sort of thing'. It's not mine and I really did not enjoy it.

It's bring your own which makes it quite cheap as well and because it's Shisha, it can be smoked inside, which is very convenient. On the night we went there was an acoustic session going on which added to the very chilled out atmosphere. Apparently it's been having some licensing issues but hopefully that can be sorted out. It's a great place to chill at lunch or for a night out.

We tried a variety of items: pie special (chicken and mushroom in a peppercorn sauce), Cajun chicken special, chicken stack and fish and chips. All were delicious and the service was solid. Location is great and the people are friendly. Parking was a little tight but that's all of Ireland IMO. Would definitely recommend We also tried the apple cinnamon crumble and it was wonderful

Parking was pretty easy, there are loads of street parking spots on side streets; lots of tables inside, outside, and a back restaurant area off the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area, viewing their massive tap list, with loads of local craft brews (complete with Untapped check-ins). We ordered the Potato, leek, sausage platter and the Chicken Burger with sweet potato fries. The mashed potatoes had a great pop of flavor, the Yorkshire pudding was fluffy not soggy, and the sausages melted in my mouth. The Chicken Burger had a unique flavor spice profile, with wonderfully crisp sweet potato fries. We also ate some sticky toffee pudding for dessert, that had a warm buttery goodness to it. I definitely recommend stopping by for food!

This gem is nestled…read moreamong residential homes on Hill street on the south side of the town on what used to be the main Belfast to Dublin road. I believe the red brick residential houses were owned by the railway over 100 years ago to accommodate the railway workers so the pub was and is integral to generations of a hard working community. It also has an off licence at the side of the building so it's a substantial property. We by passed the bar in favour of a very comfy extensive lounge area leading out to an open air beer & barbecue garden. testament to hope over experience in our rain filled island. The beer was good. I had draught peroni (€4.30) my wife opted for her usual Jameson. As it happened our visit coincide with what was to be Ireland's last euro football game but this wasn't our reason for being here. In fact when we arrived there was only a few locals but as the match time grew near it filled up. I sat in a comfortable chair and I could see two football screens, one to my right the other to my left. I'm not much interested in sport and I can take or leave football and I usually leave it but the locals created one heck of an enjoyable fun atmosphere as Ireland took the lead and eventually lost it. I will end this review by telling you about the generous spirit of the owners. They had laid on free food barbecued meats including chicken breast, beef burgers, pork sausages, chunks of bacon and chips with a range of salads, slaws and breads. We were complete strangers. Never there before yet the attitude was help yourself don't be shy (which proves the didn't know me from Adam) and the food was delicious too. Worth a visit of your passing.
