I can't believe it's taken me so long to visit the refurbished Apartment. Was always a firm favourite and after my visit today, will be frequented regularly!! It's been totally gutted and looks great. Zak's bar is at the bottom and upstairs is the bar, open kitchen, roof top terrace and restaurant is where the old main bar once was. The view overlooking the City Hall will be fantastic especially when the Market starts!! Kieran the supervisor showed me round before making me a delicious cup of coffee. Will come in for a meal real soon!!

Either for a special occasion or a meal with friends, the Apartment is one of those places in Belfast were you can't really go wrong offering a bar if you only want a drink or delicious food options also. You will find this place packed on a friday and saturday night, so make sure you make a booking if you don't want to be gutted. Make sure that some time in your life you try the chicken tempura. It will melt in your mouth with ensuing groans of taste satisfaction. I cannot recommend it enough!!!

Love a seat with a view and you can't beat this in your home city :) the cocktails aren't bad either!

The Apartment has been around as long as I have been drinking, (without showing my age) at least 12 years! I have been her for dinners, drinks, brunches and a breakfast scone and coffee on numerous occasions over the years, and it's always been decent, good food and OK drinks, but it became a bit run down in recent years, the crowd and the quality of cocktails were dropping, but the prices going up. Following a recent revamp and facelift, I have called in a couple of times, one on a date night on Friday and once with a few girl friends on a Saturday afternoon session. They have shuffled the upstairs bars around, given it a lick of paint and included a beer garden out the back, and I have to say it was really nice! If you get a seat near the window it's nice to while away the day with a good cocktail and some people watching. Me and my bf had a lovely Friday evening doing just that, the bar wasn't too busy and the service was quick. The cocktails were delicious, particularly the Aviation, one of my go to cocktails most places I go. Saturday afternoon with my friends way a lovely day too, although the bar service took a lot longer, it didn't seem particularly busy and there was plenty of staff, but the drinks were slow to arrive. We left before the masses arrived on a Saturday night. I would certainly recommend here for a casual drinks, I'll be back to try the food but it was always consistently good before the revamp so I would expect the same.

I have a lot of love for the Apartment. It's a bit of an every-occasion type of place. I mean, you can call in first thing in the morning and pick up a tea/coffee and a pastry (for £1.50 - bonus!), come back for lunch or dinner and then stay until kicking out time drinking cocktails! The only thing that brings it down in my estimation is the music level. It's a bar, but the music is played at club volume, so no one is dancing, but no one is hearing anyone either. It gets a little frustrating sometimes. Also, if you're not ordering cocktails, the wait at the bar can be infuriating! "Can I have four cosmos please?" /facepalm Don't let it put you off though. It's a great venue for dates, catch-ups with friends, boozy nights out and whatever else you can think of!

    Cocktails weren't too shabby!

As Jules mentioned the best thing about The Apartment is it's proximity and views of Belfast City Hall especially by night when the City Hall as it's light shown on. I dropped in on Saturday night for a quick cocktail before home time, every other time I've been in it has been rammed but I was pleasantly surprised when I could navigate my way to the bar without dodging daiquiris. The guys who work in the Apartment are perfectionists, it took them a good 5 minutes to make me two drinks - but to be honest I don't mind waiting when the drinks taste so good. At £6 a cocktail it's pretty expensive in comparison to other city establishments and you could probably find yourself a cocktail deal elsewhere. Overall though I like the Apartment, it's open and spacious and if you get seated on the large leather sofas looking out at the city you might find it hard to leave.

The Apartment is one of the many bars owned by Botanic Inn's in Belfast. Being situated right across the road from the City Hall, it has a classy style and atmosphere with the drinks and food to boot. The food is very nice and very affordable, for £12.95 you can get two courses and a glass of wine which is very reasonable considering how good the food is. The best part of the Apartment is their huge selection of cocktails. It may be girly as flip, but everyone does enjoy a cocktail. These guys do some of the best in town. I love the old school ones like, Lynchburg Lemonades and Long Island Ice Teas. Their Long Island Iced Tea's are amazing and after four (or one for that matter), my night has begun and I know its going to be a good one

In general I am not a massive fan of this bar. It is full of posers and loud mouths and wanna be celebrities. In the day time it is a very nice place to got get a bite to eat, the food is tasty and decently priced. Its just the evenings I hate - there is not enough seats which is complaint number one. The bar is very stylish looking and this seems to attract men who like to shout about how amazing they think they are and women who wear very little and look down their noses at everyone around them. On a plus side the cocktails are magnificent, huge and overflowing and all the colours of the rainbow - I very much enjoy coming here for a sneaky cocktail in the winter months when it is freezing outside. Another thing I do like is the wall filled with art work when you walk into the bar -some crazy looking pieces here and some of them are very good - it is the bard decoration though so you can't buy them (I think?) All in all not a bad bar, at least its clean and fresh. Wouldn't be my personal favourite place but it does have its charms.

Initially the hottest cocktail spot in town, the Apartment has lost it's edge in recent times, but for some things that is a big plus. Firstly you are more likely to bag one of the sprawling sofas with magnificent views over the City Hall in the afternoons. Secondly, less crush means swifter service, something you'll appreciate if you've ever been stuck behind someone ordering a large round of cocktails. What has stayed the same however is the food, with a reasonable selection of decent offerings, and a lovely cosy coffee area downstairs for breakfast. Grab a latte and people-watch, or if you are feeling naughty try their Baileys hot chocolate. It is a hug in a mug.

It is a rarity that I get up to Belfast for anything other than work. To celebrate a Saturday morning off work and flexing the old credit card we decided to check out apartment. I have read reviews on this place which seemed to be a mixed bag but wanted to give it a go. Lovely setting opposite my favourite building Belfast City Hall. The opening seems a little unfinished so I hope they will do something with that area. The bar looks lovely although it is slightly too dark unless you sit by the large windows. A few extra light bulbs wouldn't go amiss!. I treated myself to a cocktail called the country orchard. One word ... YUM! Perfectly refreshing after a hard morning shopping! Food was very nicely presented and a good price! Comfortable surroundings and very friendly staff! This is a good lunch time spot and I will be back.

Charging stations in every booth in Zak's bar downstairs

Recently renovated the inside now has a lot of exposed brick and original features of the pillars at the front. Upstairs the restaurant has switched sides which makes more sense as now you don't have to walk through people eating in order to have a drink and diners have a bit of peace and quiet while they dine which is a good idea. The only thing I do miss is the large sofas at the windows and they were a great people watching opportunity, and now they are replaced with high tables and stools which may be the establishments way of not letting people get too comfortable and hog the window all day. Downstairs the new Zak's bar is a welcome additions which really opens up the place, on Friday night there was a two piece band playing. I was expecting as we were sitting at the first booth we would be deafened by the group however I found this not to be the case which was a pleasant surprise. They also do Prosecco Fridays which a bottle for only £15, which is great. And I was also surprised to find all the booths have not only plugs to charge your phones but USB ports as well Enoch for the tech savvy world we now live in is a bonus.

    Promotion on right now £3/pint!

Haven't been in Apartment for quite a while, certainly not since the refit. Stopped in for a quick drink with my sister before heading on to the VIPBalloonParty, pleased to discover pints were on offer at £3 each but the live music downstairs was so loud that we struggled to hold a conversation. Not sure if it was down to acoustics but the drums & guitar seemed to be playing completely different tempos and we couldn't wait to get out!

    New look apartment called Zak's
    Fiona S.

The apartment has been around for a long time with happy hour cocktails and decent pub food. It's a large bar/restaurant on three floors and it's usually quite busy. They have recently done a huge refurb of the downstairs cafe into a relaxed singer/songwriter snug called Zak's. It's a more casual area with low lighting and seems much warmer. The top seems pretty much the same with extra tables for meals. The cocktails have always been good with regulars like Cosmo, daiquiri & mojitos. The staff are usually v busy but a little patience and you'll get served.

It was the biggest sticking point for me before I went and I took more than my fair share of persuasion before I went. On my first and last visit, I was with friends who have frequented the place more than once so I followed behind them and did as they did. It's really not the sort of place I would ever visit again. You can bring your own alcohol which makes it more bearable. However, I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable throughout it as it just is not my sort of thing. Ironically Shisha is meant to help you relax. For some people, this is the perfect place to go and chill out and for that reason you are welcome to it. I would rather a pub and a club to loosen myself up. It can often be over used but this is the epitome of 'you'll like it if it's your sort of thing'. It's not mine and I really did not enjoy it.

It's bring your own which makes it quite cheap as well and because it's Shisha, it can be smoked inside, which is very convenient. It's a great place to chill at lunch or for a night out.
