Food was delicious and we were able to watch a game at the same time. Cocktails we tried included French martini (yum), dark & stormy, margarita and of course a Guinness. We tried a variety of items: pie special (chicken and mushroom in a peppercorn sauce), Cajun chicken special, chicken stack and fish and chips. All were delicious and the service was solid. Location is great and the people are friendly. Parking was a little tight but that's all of Ireland IMO. Brilliant local pub; staff was amazing (they helped us borrow the phone to solve airport issues), they made beer recommendations, and were all around just pleasant to interact with. Parking was pretty easy, there are loads of street parking spots on side streets; lots of tables inside, outside, and a back restaurant area off the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area, viewing their massive tap list, with loads of local craft brews (complete with Untapped check-ins). We ordered the Potato, leek, sausage platter and the Chicken Burger with sweet potato fries. The mashed potatoes had a great pop of flavor, the Yorkshire pudding was fluffy not soggy, and the sausages melted in my mouth. The Chicken Burger had a unique flavor spice profile, with wonderfully crisp sweet potato fries. We also ate some sticky toffee pudding for dessert, that had a warm buttery goodness to it. I like the Errigle, its a nice place to relax with a pint after work or meet up with a few mates. It can get a little bunged at times but that is just a testament to how good the place is. Its got decent screens if you are into watching sports and a great buzz if you are just out to soak up the craic. They have a good selection of beers and craft beers and reasonably priced prosecco (£21/£22 per bottle) is served with a strawberry in your glass to really lift the flavour. I have not eaten in it yet but I have it on good authority that while the fare is plain it is very good and worth trying, so I will be in the future! Overall this is a great wee spot for a quiet drink through the week or a starting point for a weekend night out with mates. Definitly recommended. read more

A pretty well known bar in Belfast with plenty on offer for people of all ages and tastes thanks to its smart use of space - splitting the premesis into 5 different sections, each catering to a different type of clientelle. I havent been all around this place, for example I havent eaten in it but a couple of friends enjoy it and have had nothing but good things to say about the food and service. There is a pretty decent pub quiz on a Monday night in one of the bars and the upstairs section is pretty fun on a weekend night if you fancy a bit of a boogie and maybe if you fancy your chances with a member of the opposite sex. The last time I was here was on St Patricks night and it was great craic with the professional staff keeping the service quick and friendly all day. A decent bar, but like all bars in this part of Belfast, maybe a little bit too out of the way to go on a crawl or for tourists to call in on. read more

I had a lovely family lunch yesterday in the Errigle and it couldn't have been more pleasant. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because we had to wait for quite a while even though the place wasn't busy. I had chicken fajitas which came out sizzling on the plate. An unusual spice was used that I ahve never had before and they also used quite a few mushrooms in the dish which I have also never seen. It was very tasty and was accompanied by generous portions of guacamole and sour cream. My little nephew who is only one was starving and was treated to sausages, mash and gravy - a massive portion for one so small but the waitress happily wrapped up our leftovers and my dog was a very happy chap. All in all a great experience, lovely food, nice service with chatty bar folk and a very reasonably bill. read more

What a good place to spend a friday night with friends just catching up. Find your self a seat and your set. Good offerings of food too. The last time time I was there I had the burger and would say it was pretty good even tho it was a bit pricey. They have some of those self serve tables which I think looks a lot of fun and very appealing. I know this bar is known for having quality local music talent and down the years has had some of the best. It is probably the most popular bar in the area. It also has great coverage of football games, so it can get very busy at those times. So if you want a quiet night beware not to go there when screaming football fanatics are in attendance!!! The Errigle is a bar I go to for food more than drink, as it's not really my scene for a night out and if I'm drinking locally I'll normally go to the Pavilion just down the road. But it is a nice enough spot, and particularly good for watching the football in the small old-man type bar at the side entrance. This is also where you can get carryouts before bar closing, handy if you've decided at midnight that you fancy a bottle of wine and the off-licence is closed. (I work night shifts so this happens fairly often when I'm off.) The main bar is spacious and pulls in a decent crowd in the evenings, but is never too packed on a weeknight, which I like. There's a tiny little seating area up a few steps at the very end of the bar which is my normal spot if I can get it - it just feels a bit more intimate and cosy. And for daytime food and drinks the seats outside are a real sun trap, although unfortunately the flowers and plants all the way along the front of the bar means the seats are also a real wasp trap - meaning lunch is usually accompanied by lots of frantic arm-waving. The food at the Errigle is good and plentiful - last time I was here my mate and I shared a meal as we were skint, but it really was enough for us both. It'll not stop me having a proper portion when I'm a bit more financially healthy though. Burp. read more

Fashions and trends come and go, but the Errigle remains a firm South Belfast favourite. It doesn't really have a distinct crowd, with a mixture of young and old, rugby fans and old golfing buddies, book groups, locals, first daters and sport-haters. It is here where we had our book group, and that wasn't our smartest plan. As we commandeered a table in the quiet bar out the back, and very reasonable rounds consisting of a bottle of wine at a time we were just too cosy to enjoy the book. Perhaps a Friday night is not the best night for a book group, as then someone suggested we went upstairs to see the DJ. Book long forgotten, crazy dance moves thrown, got home at 2am. That's the joy of The Errigle, you just know you are going to have fun, even if you are just in for the one, and it won't cost you quite as much as the city centre. read more

The Errigle is The Best pub in all of Belfast. Brilliant pub grub with some good vegetarian options. The Chefs are always very accommodating to specific requests and can adapt dishes on the menu to suit vegetarians also. There's always sports on the MANY TV screens. Homely atmosphere with a very nice crowd. Glad this is my local. read more

My 7 and 3 year old girls and I had a lovely Sunday brekky here. I had a large Errigle fry (2 sausages, 2 bacon, fried egg, 1/2 tomato, mushrooms, potato bread, soda bread and black pudding), the girls shared stack of 3 pancakes and syrup and a kids brekky of sausage, bacon, toast and scrambled egg. Washed down with coffee and milk. Super place, service was great and very reasonable prices. read more

It's hard to pin down the crowd in the Errigle., but that's no bad thing. It's the kind of bar where young things rub shoulders with men and women of certain age, and it's ok. It does get really packed at the weekends, though, so be warned! They were also one of the first bars in Belfast to install the self service pubs at some tables. I've yet to try it though. I can't imagine a night ending well if you don't have to queue for the bar and the beer just keeps on coming! read more

The Errigle is a traditional pub smack bang in the middle of the Ormeau Road, so as you can imagine it does get pretty busy in here, however if you get in early you can snap up one of the self service tables and this saves enduring the battle of the bar! Mind you, it's not as bad in here as in many other bars in Belfast. The atmosphere is generally really relaxing and everyone here is out for a good nights craic and not out for a fight as is often the case in many other places. The crowd is well mixed and mainly more mature which probably accounts for the great atmosphere. We love coming here to start our night out before heading into the town and its also agreat place t watch the football of an afternoon too. I haven't sampled the food (eating's cheating) but I've heard good things!! read more

I'd say the Errigle is quite a locals bar, but one that manages to attract people from all across town. In the same vein as the Bot, it's hard to go here on a busy evening without bumping into someone you know. There are several different areas within the bar to appeal to your every frame of mind. The main bar which is where you'll meet the most people, also has an area reserved for eating. (The food isn't half bad either). Then there's the Pinewood bar which runs along the Ormeau Rd side of the bar. Here you'll find people more interested in watching whatever sport is on the numerous TVs in this section. Best of all, however, is the Oak lounge, which is on the Jameson Street side of the bar. I think of the lounge as a kind of 1940's date bar. It has lots of little tables and small green leather chairs, all set up for twosomes. Atmosphere central. read more

We had roast chicken - the garlic spuds were grand, though the chicken suffered from a serious confuseathon: the white meat was decent but the dark meat was stringy & overcooked. This is meant to be proper posh nosh, but I found the food to be below something McDonalds would serve. It's a nice bar, very retro gastro feel to it, and it tends to serve as a good venue for corporate office bashes and Christmas parties. But I can't say it's that impressive. I was in during the day and found that it just completely lacked atmosphere. Maybe it's a bit like Clarke Kent; boring twat when you first meet him, but by night he's Superman. Errigal is a legend on the Ormeau Road. A not very well kept secret if the number of people who not only like it but visit regularly. Great crack, friendly and non threatening. All the usual booze, smoking area and great food at almost any time of the day. Lots of events and live music too! Check it out you will not be disappointed. read more

The food is amazing. I mean, my burger was impressively delicious. The chef even made me a special spicy dipping sauce because they didn't have ranch dressing for my onion rings. The batter on the onion rings is super light and addictive. The service is polite and attentive. I'll be back again before we leave Belfast. read more

I've had many great nights out in this bar. It's honestly got something for everyone and all ages mix with all types, and there is a really safe, jovial feeling about having a drink here. It's very well looked after and invites you in when you go past, throughout the spring and summer it's festooned with gorgeous flowers and hanging baskets, really colourful and pretty. I've been to a private function in here which was great craic, in one of the upper function rooms, and also to a traditional music gig with the family which was one big night of entertainment and fantastic musicians. The downstairs bar is great too, with a positive, busy vibe, and the bar staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I don't think you can have a bad experience here. The tables outside are a great added touch, as it is in a great wee sun-trap and you can sit there all day when the weather is good. A Belfast bar at its best. read more

A selection of bars under one roof. There is a mixed crowd - any age group will feel at home here. The Oak at the back is the one to go to if you want to talk as there is no music and tends to attract an older crowd. It's very small and hasn't changed in years. Full of character, it's frequented by locals employed in the voluntary sector discussing the latest dire situation in European Peace funding. The other bars in the Errigle can get very crowded at weekends. But the place feels very safe and there is a fantastic atmosphere helped by the friendliest staff you'll meet in any bar in Belfast. read more
