So, when we had leftovers planned for dinner last night from a pie we'd made, but we both worked late so didn't want the hassle of boiling potatoes, I grabbed some chips from Queen's as I was passing it on my way from Upton Park station. They were the best chips we've had in quite a while. They weren't too greasy, they were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We were really impressed. It was a good size portion (we shared a regular size between two of us as we had our pie too) and for £1.30 it was a good price too. We'll definitely be using this chip shop in the future!

The Kingfisher has AMAZING reviews for their extensive vegan menu (see photo) on other sites and during our travels we made sure to make the trek from our friend's place in Plumstead to try it out. We weren't disappointed--the owner was so welcoming and sweet and we didn't have to take her up on her satisfaction-guaranteed-or-money-back offer. She told us how she developed the recipe for the vegan fish herself, despite the shop being a traditional fish and chips place for decades prior to expanding its vegan offerings. It was lovely to have great tasting and generously portioned food made in-house by a chef who takes such pride in her food. We weren't able to make it back to the restaurant a second time during our visit, but until we return to London we'll be recommending it to anyone in the area!
