Gotta go five stars in this one, what a glorious addition to the area! I was skeptical as I've been to my share of fish and chip shops in London that just haven't been what I'm used to from some smaller cities... these guys though, great prices (for London), friendly service, and a good distinction between eating in and taking away... the place really adapts to whatever you're in the mood for, as long as it's seafood at least.
The fish and chips divine, chilli popcorn shrimp fantastic, filling lobster bisque, great pea mint something arathers (somehow they're fried, but still taste refreshing), and curry sauce that people stop in for just to take a bit home.
My only small gripes are that I don't LOVE their tartare sauce (a bit too creamy with not enough bite for my personal taste), and I kinda wished there were something more to the fried calamari... that said, it's as good as any fish and chip place or restaurant that does old school calamari rings, I've just had too many variations on that formula to go back to.
They serve beer and wine, can do baked fish and some posher alternative if your'e eating in, and for £10 for a takeaway that easily serves two you just can't go wrong if you're in the area and in the mood for fish and chips... treat yourself! read more
