Super delicious fish and chips! If you show up on a Friday during Lent you will be in line for a while but the service is fast and friendly. The location is a small hole in the wall with limited seating so the attention to detail on the food is on point! Definitely worth a try!

This is one of the original H Salt Fish and Chips stores. Fish is great and it's still got the old school feel. Would highly recommend a visit !

Such a gem find! As Arnold said, "I'll be back". PARKING/LOCATION - Located in a strip mall with other establishments, I think the parking lot could get full if a weekend meal rush. I came in during a weekday lunch. Their sign is so subtle and non-conspicuous, you could almost miss it. AMBIANCE - Low-key, nothing flashy, British decor. Just a simple place that serves one purpose - FISH & CHIPS. SERVICE - The gentleman who took my order was very nice. Because it wasn't busy, they fried up my food fresh, so he did let me know it may take up to 10 minutes. No biggie. I can imagine that they have a few ready when it's rush-hours. FOOD - Again, SO GOOD! Their fish pieces are ginormous and 2 pieces with chips was way more than enough to fill me up. Price is high, but what isn't? It's worth it, in my opinion. I took it to go to take back to the office. They thoughtfully poked holes in the paper bag to let steam escape and prevent some sogginess. Fish was light, crispy, not overly greasy. Their tartar sauce was the perfect pairing tot he chips. Fries/chips were good too.

Fish, fried zucchini and chips! Deeelish!!!

I've been on a hunt to find a good fish & chips place for my mom since its one of her favorite foods. Im not a big fan of fish & chips bcuz of the usual thick batter and little fish inside that turns me off... but this place is so different!! Delicious!!!... and now im hooked!! The batter was so light and crispy with a nice-sized piece of fish inside. All freshly made and the guy who works there was so helpful and kind!! Definitely our new fish & chip spot!!

I must say I love Fish n Chips. So when I can find authentic English Fish n Chips I'll try it. This little hole in the wall has made me very happy. The crunch, the flakyness of the fish were outstanding. It was really good. The chips or fries were good too. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and patient. I can't wait to go back

Quick and friendly service. Met the owner Dan, super friendly. He told me they have been around for 30 years so they have perfected their recipe. Light and crispy fish. Not thick and soggy! Cash only so they can keep their prices low, smart business move on that! Line out the door. Very simple set up inside.

Stopped by with the Wifey, enjoyed some Excellent Fish & Chips. Service was fast and friendly, the place was clean and simple. Had trouble making up my mind, decided to get combo w/ fish, shrimp & fries, including all the fixings ( Tarter Sauce). The prices are on point and the quality was no issue. It's hard to find a good place these days for Fish & Chips, everything was fresh and not greasy. I would definitely recommend, I will be back.

Nice place. They serve Alaskan Pollack no Swai served here which is a great thing. They have fried fish, clams and shrimp. They also have 4 monks malt vinegar used on the fish when you get your order, it's less acidic with a more malt flavor and it's beautiful on the fish. I got the combo plate and my husband got the 4 piece fish with chips. It was fresh hot and crispy and very delicious. All the sauces are handmade along with the coleslaw. This place is out of a different time and it serves fried fish which almost never seen anywhere. This store has been here since 1969 and this owner has been here since the 90's so 30 plus years. Quality was great and very fresh. Eat in or take it to go. We loved it.

The food was delicious and I would definitely come back again. The service was a little slow because there was only one cook but it was definitely worth it. They were still efficient despite the long line. I got my food right away because they had made such a large batch and was ready to serve customers. The environment was a little rundown but it does have that old vibe to it.

Not enough rice was there , as it was hidden under the grilled salmon . The other side dish I wanted was coleslaw .. however , I mis read the item and ordered a kale , the green purple leafy vegetable mixed with cabbage . I didn't like it . Anyway , it was not enough food for a stocky man, who was a fairly hungry . My friend , who also ordered grilled Salmon, had a side order of cauliflower-rice and side order sweet potato fries which were seriously over cooked , and borderline burnt . I took them back to ready station person and told the young lady that the sweet potato fries were burnt, and could I have another order of the fries ( obviously not overcooked) . She was surprised. But agreed to tell the cook , to make another order of them . After 9 minutes No one said anything to me , so the new perfectly cooked fries would have sat there if I didn't get up and locate them . Also the drink I originally ordered could not be found on the drink machine which I mixed a tea with a little soda . Nevertheless , the grill salmon was nicely prepared , but the skimpy portion of rice and the kale-slaw were not enough for two us. I was feeling like I could have ordered a second dinner , as was my friend, as we drove 35 minutes to meet there from different locations. The young fellow who took our order was helpful in helping us use the touch screen. However , it was our first time at this restaurant chain , and we're both feeling hungry leaving the place .

Disappointing Visit: Service, Billing Concerns My boyfriend…read moreand I visited London's Pub & Grill in Artesia expecting a relaxed, casual evening, but we left feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. The service did not feel professional. I noticed beer being poured carelessly, with a noticeable amount wasted during the process. While that may sound small, it reflects a lack of attention when customers are paying for their drinks. I also encourage customers to review their bills carefully. The gratuity or additional charges were not clearly aligned with the level of service we received, and the experience left me unsure about exactly what had been added. Clear, transparent billing should be standard--especially when a customer has questions. More concerning was the way staff handled those questions. An interaction with a staff member, Parag, became unnecessarily confrontational. I had difficulty understanding parts of the communication, and the tone and manner of the encounter made me feel intimidated and physically uncomfortable. I am only sharing my personal experience--not making assumptions about intent--but it went well beyond a normal customer-service disagreement. I also saw what appeared to be a camera or surveillance device in the men's accessible restroom. I cannot verify what it was, whether it recorded anything, or why it was installed, so I do not want to speculate. Still, seeing something that appeared to be a camera in a restroom was alarming and raised serious privacy questions. Management should be able to provide a clear explanation of what the device is and why it is located there. Restaurants can be busy, and mistakes happen. But customers should be able to ask about a charge without feeling dismissed or intimidated, and they should never have to feel uncertain about their privacy. Based on this visit, I would be very hesitant to return. I hope management takes this feedback seriously--particularly regarding staff professionalism, billing transparency, and the apparent device in the restroom.

In my defense, I'm usually at the bakery at 5 a.m., so there's that. That one's on me! Any hoot, the chicken is so damn good! Perfectly crispy, with every bite packed full of the juiciest flavor. This place looks like it's been serving up decades of happy customers--the kind of no-frills spot that's all about the chicken, and they absolutely nail it. John, the master behind that perfect crisp, is truly a gem of a human. I also had the pleasure of meeting his wife today, and she was such a joy to talk to. They're both so kind, welcoming, and full of great conversation. After today, I understand this place so much better. The coleslaw had absolutely no flavor, and the chicken just didn't have the taste I remember from back in the day. The biscuit was also really bad. After waiting so long to satisfy that craving, the whole experience was a letdown. What disappointed me even more was the customer service. The employees had absolutely no personality--very dry and almost robotic. Whatever happened to good old-fashioned customer service? SMH. ‍ Unfortunately, this will be my last visit to this location. I'm going to have to give the Boyle Heights location a try and hopefully they still have it going on. Crossing my fingers! For anyone thinking about trying Pioneer Chicken again, save your money and skip the Bell Gardens location. Hopefully the Boyle Heights location can bring back that old-school Pioneer Chicken experience I remember.

I became obsessed with DINO'S FAMOUS CHICKEN after trying the LEGENDARY SPOT in LOS ANGELES…read more And yes, I agree with a few others (Nicolas lol) that this location is just as good IF NOT BETTER than the LA spot. It was seriously juicy and charred at the same time, great technique in the back. I loved the service from beginning to end because the lady up at the register was so sweet. After getting a tooth extracted, there's only certain foods I can eat, so I was definitely craving some flavor to cheer me up and Dino's did not disappoint. I actually thought this spot was better than the LA location because we didn't get extra sauce this time. It was charred to perfection and still tender and juicy, tangy, bright, spicy, zesty, flavorful. The rice actually was pretty undercooked though. But the beans were the perfect complement since the taste and texture was softer and milder. Their coleslaw is probably my favorite because it's not as creamy as other spots, tasting more like slightly pickled cabbage. Overall, 10/10. Great portion, great flavor, and great service. But no bathroom which is needed after you DIG IN. Your hands WILL be messy. Tip: Don't extra sauce, it's too overpowering. Let the flavor of the chicken shine through.
