Decided to to try this brunch place because of all the picture perfect photos. I ordered the chikichanga, waffle, and purple haze drink. However the wait was an hour and the taste of the food didn't live up to previous reviews. The food looks perfect but is very bland and potatoes weren't fully cooked. The purple haze drink was wonderful on the other hand. read more

They were able to take us in as walk-ins on Easter Sunday at 12pm. Most people seemed to have reserved or done the online waitlist via Yelp or their website. We were seated promptly in the room that I presume seemed to open to the outside, but since it was inside, it was a little cramped with the other parties. We ended up ordering coffee, the Trifecta, and the BLT Eggs Benedict with greens. Coffee - the coffee was pretty smooth and served warm enough to drink straight from the canister. They left the coffee canister for us to refill as well as the water. Trifecta - standard breakfast, but it wasn't super filling The BLT Eggs Benedict - solid eggs Benedict! Might get them again next time. We generally enjoyed our visit to First Watch and will most likely be back to try some of their seasonal dishes like the Shrimp and Grits or other brunch/lunch. entrees read more

First Watch is amazing! We joined the waitlist and were quickly seated upon arrival. Minus one hiccup (my food was lukewarm and had to be remade), the service and food were both great. I love anything with lavender, so started with the Purple Haze (mixture of lemon, tea, lavender). It was soooo good! The Works Omelet and breakfast potatoes were yummy, along with the perfectly made Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. This was the best breakfast I've had in a long time! There were so many other menu choices that I wanted to try, so hopefully there will be a next time! read more

Stopped by on Sunday afternoon to grab a quick bite to eat before heading to Oak Brook mall. I decided to try the steel cut oatmeal. At first I thought it was quite expensive for a small cup of oatmeal, but once I received it I was pleasantly surprised. They gave a generous portion of oatmeal with bananas, strawberries, and pecans on top. I also received a small cup of brown sugar to top it off. It was very delicious and filling. The staff was very friendly and accommodating so I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in Oak Brook. read more

Our 10 minute wait turned into 45 minutes. Ok so that happens and it looked like the place was short staffed but the food came out wrong and cold. The quality of the food seemed there but just not execution. We didn't order anything super fancy. Just typical eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast, pancakes. I think I'll try again at another location. read more

Waffles here were amazing. Super fluffy and buttery, the batter was not heavy at all. I also tried the iced coffee with oatmilk and it was surprisingly good. Service was also very nice. read more

This is a chain and they do have quite a nice farmhouse feel inside. I really enjoyed my crab avocado, toast, and it was quite filling! The only big thing that is always disappointing about First watch is the potatoes are made in batches at the beginning of the day. They season them then and serve them through out the day. In my opinion, The potatoes are seasoned with too much salt. So you can't really ask for no salt on your potatoes... That really is a drawback and also a reason why we don't go there very often. read more

We were excited to learn that First Watch now has a location close to us. But our first try was a disappointment. Although the interior design is very nice (upscale for a breakfast joint), the noise level is too high, and that may partly be because of the unfinished ceiling in half of the restaurant. Also, annoying loud music is played over the sound system. So, customers have to speak loudly to one another across their table. Secondly, our food took a long time in being delivered. Although my omelette was tasty, it was cold; obviously having been pre-made and sat while my husband's order was being cooked. We asked for water/no ice and our waitress brought us a little pitcher and 2 glasses. When my hubby asked for a new glass (his was dirty), our waitress was immediately defensive and said all glasses looked that way coming out of their dishwasher, walked away saying she'd bring us plastic. I looked at my glass and it was sparkling clean, debunking what she just said about ALL glasses. In general, she was unfriendly/unwelcoming. While we make it a point to give at least a 20% tip whenever we eat out, my hubby gave less this time. I never feel good about giving less than 20%, but hope First Watch management reads this review to learn why. read more

Went on a Sunday and were told it was a 30 minute wait we said fine and they would text us when our table was ready. After 30 minutes I went in to check on the status of our table and was told that she could not seat us because people who reserved tables online had priority over people who were actually waiting in line. I was told it would be another 10 to 15 minutes at which time I said forget about it. I never heard of such bullshit and I will never go back to that place again even though their food is good. They need to treat their customers a little better than that. Any chance I get I will tell people to take a pass on this place. read more

Decided to check out another FIRST WATCH since I had such a pleasant experience but this my BF and I did not have such a great experience. He ordered what I had last time and it wasn't such a hit! It was quite small proportion wise! Definitely not for a man and bang for your buck! I ordered a frittata. It was ok. Nothing to write home about. I grew up on frittatas & my Nonna could make these in her sleep! We also ordered the churros! I don't like sending food back but they were raw! The server, who was great BTW, gladly brings us another order and they are raw as well!!!! Come to find out the churros are NOT FRIED!!! They are BAKED! Yuck! WHO WANTS BAKED CHURROS? I wouldn't have ordered them! read more

We sent there on cold Saturday morning and the place was not busy. Yet the hostess wanted to put us by the entrance when there were available tables more inside of the dining area. When my sister sent me pictures of breakfast and told me where she was, I was a bit jealous. So jealous I ordered it to go at work the next day. I've heard nothing but rave reviews of this place, and they are all right. The food is very fresh, well-seasoned and big portions. To do a to-go order you must order thru the website or their app. I ordered the biscuits with turkey sausage gravy with seasoned potatoes and a side of cheesy grits. Where do I even begin?? The egg was cooked perfectly in a patch of butter. The gravy had the right amount of gravy-ness and taste, and the biscuit was fluffy good. My favorite was the seasoned potatoes. My coworkers raved about the waffles and how the cinnamon was perfect and not to overbearing. I knew if the food was that good that I needed to go there and try it fresh, and I did just that on a Sunday morning. Because I ordered to-go a few days before, I knew that I was able to reserve a spot in line without having to be at the restaurant. This is super convenient since they don't take reservations. When we got there, it was definitely a wait for others, but all we had to do was check in and wait a few mins longer. Once our table was ready, we received a text and then was seated. While waiting to be greeted by our waitress, I was admiring the decor. I got country farmhouse vibes. Super cute. Chloe was our waitress, and she was very pleasant and loved conversing. She gave us her recommendations. We decided to go with the smoked salmon eggs benedict with a side of greens drizzled with a lemon vinaigrette, a warm lemon blueberry cornbread accompanied by a heaping scoop of butter, smoked salmon frittata with seasoned potatoes and a slice of parmesan crusted sourdough bread, and a side of cheesy grits. I wish I could say I was happy with everything, but the salmon frittata was not a fan fav for us. The frittata was very dry, and the salmon felt over cooked. I think the roasted tomatoes didn't seem to mesh well with the salmon. I don't think I would do this particular dish again but everything else I have had from First Watch has been great so far and I will definitely be back again. read more

Had a great first visit today. Cesar was a great server. I enjoyed my biscuit with turkey sausage gravy. Sister had the market hash. Nice to have a piping hot pitcher of coffee on the table as well as a carafe of water. My sister wants one for a flower vase, no I didn't stuff in my pocket as she suggested. Looking forward to exploring more of their menu, including lunch. I had gone to a FW in Cincinnati some years ago. Was shocked to hear they're planning 42 locations in Chicagoland with a 2nd location in Naperville possibly coming soon. read more

Popular place on the weekends. The hostess was accurate in time estimate and she didn't pretend we'd be in sooner. I prefer honesty vs. optimism. The tables are well spaced apart, so even though there were some folks coughing, the good ventilation and circulation mitigated stress. I liked the warm wooden floors and black frame, big glass windows -- felt like a nod to French Art Deco or Arts & Crafts? We had lemon ricotta pancakes, Belgian waffles, and the Traditional; coffee and juices all around. Food came in a timely manner. Everything was delicious. read more

This is the second time this has happened so I'm sharing. You can go online and put your name on waitlist. Both times we put our name on as we were pulling into parking lot. It says 5-15 min wait. Yeah!!! Park, go in to check in and told 45min to an hour. It's bait and switch!!! Not one time but TWICE! Both times left and went to Butterfields a block away, Sat immediately, had a fabulous breakfast, for less money. We will never waste our time again read more

My coworker told me about this place and when I saw the number of reviews, I had to try it. As we were pulling up I put us on the waitlist and it said it'll be 10-15min wait. No problem bc the lot was packed. We get a text that says go check in. We go to check in and the girl immediately tells us the kitchen is backed up and it'll be a 45min wait. I asked even if were on the waitlist? Does that mint matter? She proceeds to tell me, no. Right before I said something else..there was a guy who looked to be the manager with glasses, immediately say hi ma'am, what's the name..I told him and he said yea it'll be about 10/15min. I said great and waited outside. Sure enough, 10/15min went by and we were seated. Our waitress seem annoyed as if she wanted to go home. She was pleasant though overall, but could have checked on out table more frequently. Food was good. The pancakes are HUGE and tasted ok. But the seasoned potatoes?!? Baybeeeee they were a hit!!!!!!!!! I'm coming back for more! Low and behold, Mo saved the day! She brought us our food and asked us if we were ok. Totally went above and beyond! Even checked us out as we left. She also told me to try the Kale Tonic when I return. If it wasn't for her and the potatoes , I wouldn't want to come back - but I will try them again. read more

Coffee is bitter and strong. Bacon is like leather. Over medium eggs over cooked. AND this place only serves 1 piece of toast and whn I asked for a 2nd slice they complied but failed to inform me they would charge me 2.50. My first time trying this place for my best friend birthday. We went on a Wednesday morning and it was not crowded like I've seen it on weekends. My one friend and I tried the original breakfast- i had the egg whites, chicken sausage, potatoes and toast everything was pretty good. The potatoes was seasoned well only thing I didn't care for the chicken patties as they must've been maple and was a little sweet for my liking. My other girlfriend has the carnita quesadillas and she liked them. Our waitress was nice unfortunately I can't remember her name. Parking adequate since it's in the mall area. The watermelon pineapple refresher drink was just ok to me. Overall good experience I would definitely go back. read more

I've been here twice and both times, the food was delicious! Ingredients are fresh and the combo of ingredients are flavorful! Today we had the roast beef sandwich with horse radish sauce with a side of potatoes was excellent! My friend had the smoked ham and gruyere sandwich with a side of fresh house salad. There were many healthy choices too. Delicious as well! The service was very friendly and warm. But, on both occasions that I have been here, it took a long time to get the food. We ordered promptly. The server was great. But, the kitchen was SLOW. That was disappointing. Located in a strip mall. So you can have breakfast, brunch or lunch and then shop. Came here for brunch with some out of town friends. There were a lot of people waiting but I put my name in and was texted in about 10 minutes. They also have some nice benches outside to wait on. I ordered hot water to drink and it came in a whole dispenser which was nice. But the mug they gave me was dirty and it wasn't until after the first sip that I saw the coffee grounds and fuzz. I was able to get a new mug no problem but that really upset my appetite. When I got to the end of the pitcher it also tasted like coffee. This place also gets super busy so we felt bad having a long meal and could tell the waitress was hovering and tried to rush us. They also never gave us more water when we finished our carafe. Skillet - mostly potatoes that were kind of soggy. With some bacon and sun dried tomatoes sprinkled through. Toast was good Lemon curd pancakes - kind of one note, was expecting some tartness. The food is so good! Ellie is our favorite server, we ask for her every time. The seasonal options are delish.

Service was excellent. Everyone bent over backwards to help us. My sister, and her daughter who is autistic, were here and all the servers helped tremendously. Food was good . Had the Loaded bagel . Everything bagel, with smoked salmon , cream cheese, tomato, arugula leaves, etc. very tasty. A lot of healthy offerings here. They are willing to accommodate you, but don't have any specific GF meals. Tables spaced out nicely for Covid. Didn't feel crowded in here , though we were here on Sun morning. Glad to have found this brunch spot! **Establishment: when you walk in you're greeted by the host/hostess. Overall very clean and there are hand sanitizer bottles at the front for you to use. Requires masks on when waiting at the front. A decently sized space but I will say I wish the seats were a little further apart in some areas, especially if it's busy. Some chairs definitely weren't about 6' away from other seats when customers were sitting and it didn't seem like it was limited capacity. For that, and as someone who works in health, I'm taking a star off. **Service: My friend and I went around 10:30am on a Saturday and it was pretty busy, but the host took our info down almost right away. The hostess might have been new? She was sweet but kept directing us to the host for info. Our server was quick to greet us. She never hovered nor neglected us and was really friendly. **Food! I ordered the Bacado omelette and coffee. First things first - when you order coffee, they leave the whole pot with you! I felt so bad wasting it since I only had a cup, so if you order coffee it'll be enough for you and your friend(s) at the table for sure. The omelette was spot on, especially when you eat it with the pico de gallo and sour cream and I highly recommend it! It comes with toast, which had butter on it already, so just beware and ask for butter on the side or none at all if you aren't a fan of it. My friend ordered a skillet and it looked amazing. She was able to finish most of it but said the potatoes were a little too filling for her, but she recommended it still. All in all, the service was awesome, the food was fantastic, the establishment was busy! Hoping they have patio seating when the weather warms up too. Will definitely return! read more

The food was fine but it the service was lacking. The waiter had no idea which items were vegan and told us to order a salad with no meat and cheese or to get pancakes. Pancakes contain milk and eggs and are definitely not vegan. When we read thru the menu carefully we easily found a few options that the waiter was clueless about. They also need to work on their food delivery system. It came out and the food was auctioned off. The servers should know exactly who ordered which meal.
