Our first time here we absolutely loved our food and experience. We had the nicest most upbeat server. No complaints. We tried going here a second time and after I checked in, I was told around 30 minutes but the wait took almost an hour so we canceled since it was close to closing time. Before I canceled, I called to check on the status but a busser answered the phone and said she didn't have any answers for me. I've been to other First Watch restaurants and this one is by far the worst. The side of bacon was $5 and included maybe 4 pieces of bacon. The side of fruit contained a grape, a piece of pineapple and a piece of honeydew. But the best part was the pancakes. They were burnt. How are you going to serve burnt pancakes!? read more

Our server was very patient with us taking forever to decide what to order, bless her heart, there were so many good looking options! One of my favorite things about First Watch is that it's never too loud and the environment is extremely welcoming, the host's opening the door is creative! I ordered the Strawberry Tres Leches French Toast, it's definitely very sweet which I personally liked, It's like a Starbucks Strawberry Frappe in food form. My Boyfriend got the Breakfast Quesadilla and says it was good too. It has jalapeño cream on it and it is a little spicy but overall still a good pick! The Watermelon Wakeup was so good, refreshing! I wasn't a fan of the Morning Meditation though, too bitter. Overall a 5/5! Definitely would go again. read more

Visited First Watch in Novi, Mi on a busy Sunday morning. The wait was about 30 minutes. But once we were seated we have the most awesome waiter Jordan. He was so professional and personable. His recommendations on the menu were superb. Although the restaurant was busy and he had many tables to serve he was so attentive. He seemed to anticipate our needs before we could ask. Great addition to the Novi brunch scene! I appreciate this location as it is conveniently located within Novi town center next to Potbelly's and Sweetwaters. I have felt for awhile that the novi dining scene has been lacking good brunch places so I was so excited when I saw this restaurant is here now. I have come here a few times and occasionally the service has been a total miss. On my most recent visit, a bustling Sunday around 1pm, there was a huge line so make sure to check in online to reserve a spot in line which seems like the way to go versus walking in and waiting for a spot to open up. Since it was so busy, I felt the ball got dropped a bit. Our server was very nice but for example, when we had our pancakes dropped off, normally syrup will also be dropped off or someone will ask if we want that and no one did and it took forever before our server came back and we ended up asking someone else for it. I feel if you come here on a weekend just be prepared for service to possibly be a miss. It also took awhile before our server came back to bring us boxes since we had ample leftovers. The food itself was pretty good and the coffee and juices are delicious. The toast with their preserves is also super tasty! One thing I dislike about this location is even though seasonal pumpkin pancakes are advertised on the first watch website itself, for whatever reason this location does not have it on the menu which was letdown to me. read more

Not my first time at First Watch but my first time at this new location that opened this week. The staff was great, especially our server at the bar (Alexis) and the woman who greets you at the door. Everyone seemed liked seasoned veterans who had been working in the industry for years. The food was tasty and on par with what you expect from a First Watch breakfast. Stopped in on a day off for breakfast here. Very fancy! I had this citrus hibiscus punch with my breakfast that could become dangerously addictive. Cinnamon in the rim and a vitamin shot too? We visited First Watch mid morning on a weekday and found no wait whatsoever. The waitresses were a bit busy so there was slower service but nothing to get upset about. The menu is so amazing. So many delicious choices. Mostly breakfast items but also a few sandwiches for lunch. My Mom ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes topped with strawberries. It's her favorite. I ordered the Trifecta, which was a waffle as light as air, a berry compote, 2 eggs (scrambled), and bacon. It was amazing! I'm determined to explore the whole menu. You totally should try it, especially if you are a breakfast fan! read more

Service has always been great, but we've found this place to be very hit or miss in terms of food preparation. We went there a few days ago and it was terrible. When our orders arrived, the over medium eggs were completely hard, my husband's waffle was cold, and the sausages were burnt to a crisp. Our server was apologetic and had the food remade, but said they couldn't do anything about the sausages because "that's how they made them today." Hmm, ok, whatever. The 2nd attempt was definitely better, but the eggs were sitting in a puddle of grease and the potatoes were practically swimming in it. We're going to pass on this place for a while. read more

IMHO they made a mistake by taking reservations. We weren't aware of that when we stopped by on a Sunday and was told the wait would be 45 minutes. I guess that would be understandable but they had four tables that were empty. They were missing substantial income. read more

First time at the First Watch, Novi! Open, industrial atmosphere and decor! Staff was efficient and welcoming! Our server, Alexis, was very friendly, attentive and we'll be back just because she was so sweet. Oh, and the food was good. Absolutely delicious! The Elevated Egg Sandwich is to die for. So is the Million Dollar Bacon! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff is super friendly. The wait isn't bad if you join the waitlist online. A little pricy for breakfast but I think it's well worth it. HIGHLY recommend! read more

So we love first watch. We were excited about this location opening up close to home. We showed up today and told 25 min wait. An hour later with multiple open tables and no one being sat is disappointing. Right now there is 12 open tables and we are being told there is no one sitting for at least 30 mins. What??? I was so excited to try this new breakfast restaurant, but was REALLY disappointed. The gingerbread doughnuts were delicious, however everything else was not. The French Toast was cold, butter wouldn't even melt, toast was cold as well, again butter didn't melt. Bread that was supposed to be toasted wasn't and a meal came 15-20 minutes after all the other meals. Not only was it late but it was incorrect. Our server was not interested in improving our experience. I had to repeatedly ask for water and she never checked to see if we needed anything or how our meals were. We weren't able to find the server to try & get the meals corrected. Very frustrating. Then when we went to pay the bill, there was only one person seating people & checking out. Not a great set up. People didn't know who was waiting to be seated & who was waiting to pay their bill. read more

I began going to First Watch years ago, when visiting family in Maryland. I continued to regret that there were none in Michigan. So, when I first saw the location in Troy, I got so excited. I couldn't go until recently, secondary to the pandemic. This location was just as good as the one in Pikesville, MD. Our server was friendly, gave good suggestions and in general, took good care of us. The food was tasty. I arrived this morning for two orders of avocado toast and purple haze. I put the order in at the counter and they were nice enough to take the order but didn't tell me anything about how long to wait. There was a gentleman before me apparently Uber who was waiting for three orders and they came out after he was waiting a lot longer than I was and told him that they only had two orders bagged up and one was somewhere separate. They settled on that and then they went back in the back to bag up the rest and brought him four bags. He looked over the bags which were stapled shut and felt they were complete and he took all of them and left. Three minutes later after he was gone they brought out another container with some of the food that he had ordered and we're very distraught that he had already left. I waited another 15 or 20 minutes and twice people came out to tell me that they were getting it prepared. Later someone brought a bag out stapled shut with my name on it and I thanked them and took it. It didn't contain all of the stuff I ordered either as the drinks purple haze were not in there. I am very Dissatisfied by the service and I won't go back to that one again. I have previously liked other first watch breakfast restaurants and will probably continue to go there in fact I was given a gift card for first watch for Christmas. But I won't go to the one on Ingersoll Drive near the mall in Novi. read more
