The host's response when I asked him to take me off the list and asked why they had me wait if they weren't actually going to clear a table was "I'm busy." I had the Floridian French toast which was really good - I liked the fruit spread they had with it and the syrup was warm and good. I really love a good French toast. The fruit on top of the French toast was really good as well. With my French toast, I had chicken Sausage, grits, eggs, and toast. The toast was great - they had a different fruit spread for it and it was good. (I had a bunch of bread ). Everything else was just ok. The grits were too runny for my liking - I definitely would have preferred them to be thicker and even with butter added to them I still had to add salt and pepper to season them. The eggs I asked them to scramble hard - the texture of them were weird to me and not as hard as I would of liked. The chicken sausage just tasted weird - Maybe I just didn't like the brand of chicken sausage they used but I definitely wasn't a fan. I had a slight mishap with my food and they resolved it quickly, so I really appreciate the customer service here. The lay out is good and there is an outside patio option. This is my go-to place for brunch. Nice juices, pancakes/waffles, and meats. They are vegan conscious and appear to have some chef inspired dishes. I am pretty simple and usually go for the Trifecta with a multi-grained pancake. I like my eggs scrambled, not chopped and cooked dry. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it right, but they are accommodating. I am not one to waste food, so I try to explain exactly how I want them up front. Ordering ahead is a breeze (if you want to pick up your order) as is paying at the table through an App (just scan and pay). The dishes and silverware clean, just the way I like them! Get there at the time we were quoted, was told the order would be right out as the order sitting there was not ours. Ok cool, no problem. After 15-20 mins of waiting come to find out, the order there was ours. Get home to eat, who ever is on potatoes needs to chill on the salt and cook time because they are inedible. I came here alone on a Saturday morning for a quick breakfast. I walked in and was confused by the tight entrance way. The hostess was away from the stand, so the woman at the checkout counter grabbed me a menu. I asked to sit outside and she literally gave me the menu and silverware and said I could sit wherever. I thought this was odd but had never been there before and went to sit at one of the open tables. I soon realized that she had never notified anyone that I was sat at their table. Servers multiple times walked past me without inquiring whether I'd been helped yet. I finally called someone over who then asked, did you get sat here? Obviously if I have a menu and silverware--but again the first woman probably didn't notify anyone. My server did finally come to check on me and took my order. From that point on she was fairly attentive. I ordered biscuits and gravy which I had been craving for a few weeks. I was unpleasantly met with First Watch's interpretation of this simple classic. The gravy barely had any sausage in it, was somewhat grainy, and tasted like it had Parmesan cheese in it. Not at all what I was expecting. I regret not having sent the plate back. The biscuits were also lack luster. The saving graces of the plate were the eggs which seemed very fresh and the well cooked breakfast potatoes. We always try to come here for brunch whenever we are in town. It's a chain but the quality is as good as local farm-to-table joint. Be sure to try their seasonal menu, I had the heritage pork chop, 2 eggs and cheesy grits, with the side of million dollar bacon and it was a killer!! First Watch was recommended to me by a coworker as I am temporarily in the Montgomery area for work. I ventured for a late breakfast and arrived around 1030. They were pretty busy, but since I was alone I was seated immediately. It took well over 5 minutes for a waitress to even come by to take a drink order. Meanwhile other tables were being seated around me and had their orders taken before I could even tell them what I wanted to drink. When she finally came over I asked what teas they had available since the menu just says "herbal tea." She had no idea and looked dumbfounded that I would even ask. She instead brought me a box that she said had everything in it that they had-- a hibiscus flavored tea, green tea, orange tea, and a chamomile. Umm...no English Breakfast? No Earl Grey? Okay..... She took another 10 minutes before she came back to take my order, at which time she brought my tea cup, hot water, etc. I immediately noticed that the lemon that was already put in my glass of water and the lemon on the plate for my hot tea was rotting. She also brought a "clean" tall glass for some reason and left it at the table. It was so cloudy with water spots, dried food and LEFTOVER LIPSTICK/CHAPSTICK from the previous user. You've got to be kidding me. My food arrived after literally every other table in the room had gotten theirs (mind you they all arrived after me and I was the only single party there). My eggs were cold, the toast wasn't even toasted- just a bland slice of bread, and the potatoes were so overcooked they were complete mush that you couldn't stab with a fork no matter how hard you tried. They were over-seasoned and in some places burned, so their flavor was terrible! Efficiency is also clearly not their strong suit as every table that I watched with 2+ people would all get their food at different times. One table had a guest who was completely done with her meal before the guy she was with even got part of his. If I'm eating at a restaurant with someone, I'd like to actually eat at the same time as them. Novel concept, I know. When it finally came time to pay, the hostess left me standing at the register for over 10 minutes while she proceeded to seat everyone that was crowding the lobby. A cook from the kitchen finally came out to lend her a hand. Add in that I requested to speak with a manager and I was told, "I'll have to try and find them." My waitress never came back with a manager. Best Breakfast Spot in Montgomery!!! I've been here about 3 or 4 times. I go with my family whenever I'm in town. The wait staff is very friendly and eager to please I appreciate that in addition to the regular menu they have a seasonal menu, so you always have new options to choose from. On my most recent visit I tried the fruit toast. It was amazing! It was a great brunch appetizer to share with friends. I also had the warm kale salad with chicken. It was good except for the carrots, I ended up taking them off. I also added poached eggs on top which really made the salad great. It doesn't usually come with eggs so be sure to ask if you want them. Parking is shared with other businesses so be aware. If you come on the weekend for Brunch expect a wait.
