Usually service here is okay but today was horrible. We ordered the Monterey club sandwich with soup and the sandwich had large dollops of chocolate sauce in it. This probably means the kitchen had premade it and then allowed it to sit out in the open, how else could something like that go unnoticed? I sent it back and they got me a new one but they replaced the soup with fruit and said they were all out of soup. They had no mint coffee left, no tomato soup, no vegetable soup and no waffles etc. I understand that restaurants run out of stuff but at least offer other substitutions, don't just replace it with something random and hope the guest doesn't notice. Montgomery doesn't have great service to begin with but since first watch is a chain we expected better. At least the breakfast tacos were good. read more

After driving through the night from Texas, we stopped en route to South Carolina for breakfast. Overall the restaurant is nicely decorated. Our party of four was shown to a table and our drink orders were taken. After reviewing the menu, we gave the server our orders. It didn't take very long for three of our orders to come out - and we figured the other would be out shortly. Nope. When our server delivered plates to a nearby table, he glanced our way and it registered that we were missing a meal. He quickly said it would be right out, and then brought our daughter's boyfriend some toast and jam while he waited. The plate came out pretty soon after, but at least 15 minutes must have passed before the server realized we were missing a plate. Throughout the meal it was difficult to get anyone's attention, although our server did ask us once about refilling our drinks. The food was very good. My daughter especially enjoyed the potatoes which accompanied her biscuits and gravy, and the Millionaire Bacon was delicious. My only complaint regarding the food would be that the Avocado Toast comes with eggs, which I did not realize, and they did not ask me how I would like my eggs. They brought them sunny side up with runny yolks, which is my least favorite way of having eggs. Since I wasn't expecting them anyway, it wasn't that big of a deal. I didn't eat them. Usually breakfast is the least expensive meal of the day, so we were a little surprised when our check was over $64, before a tip. Three of us had coffee, which was served in a carafe at table -- but we were charged $2.69 for each cup, rather than a flat fee for the carafe. When we left, I mentioned to the cashier that the food was very good and we were looking forward to visiting the restaurant that is planned for Pearland, Texas, not terribly far from where we live. She kind of shrugged her shoulder and didn't really acknowledge that in saying that I was complimenting the restaurant's food -- I can't say service because I wasn't overly impressed by that. We will give the Pearland restaurant a try since it will be a new establishment with new staff that may be friendlier and more attentive to the patrons' needs. read more

First Watch is a celebration of average food that's plated nicely. Go in expecting nothing special and you won't be disappointed. While flavor combinations sound exciting, everything is amazingly uninspired when it reaches the table. I had the carnitas burrito and it was okay but utterly forgettable - sort of like something you'd get in an airport. Another diner had the turkey burger and said it was too bland and the texture too soft for their liking. They felt it needed basic seasoning and the crunch of fresh onion. The high points were our very pleasant server, the scrambled eggs that came with my wife's pancake and the whole grain toast with our son's omelette. The bread was exceptionally good. read more

This was surprisingly disappointing. I usually get really good food, here. My server was also quite rude. There were long waits in between everything. We didn't know getting breakfast would take up the majority of our day. Our coffee was barely even warm. It had an odd flavor to it. My sister ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, and a waffle. They brought over easy eggs.... soggy, floppy bacon, and a waffle that was not even cooked all the way in the middle. When we told the waitress about the egg she rolled her eyes. I wasn't going to complain about the rest until she did that... So I told her about the bacon and waffle, and said we would like new. I had ordered a veggie omelet with a side of salad and dry toast. They put butter on my toast, I sent that back. My omelet was very runny. This was just a terrible experience. read more

Just stopped in the great city of Montgomery passing through town and stopped here at First Watch based on other Yelp recommendations. I have to say I really like this place. Simple decorations, good music playing subtly in the background. The food is what won me over though. As a man who likes to keep my model figure ( haha ) I try to eat healthy. With this in mind, I had the kale drink and ate the plate named tri-athlete. SHA BOOM! All the great flavors slapped me the face harder than my mom when I get home past curfew. Tasty meal as always. First Watch is hands down one of my favorite brunch places. Today was my first time trying one of their pancakes. I actually ordered for my daughter, and snuck a few bites. So delicious! You can't get everything right but as for as pancakes they got that right. I also tried a juice they had which was magnificent! The menu has a wide variety of items. I had to ask the server for recommendations. He was able to give me a few of his favorite dishes. I appreciated that he had tried most all of the dishes. I regret finding this spot on my last week of my 7 week training. I went at the peak of rush hour on a Sunday around 12:45sh. I would gladly give this restaurant a 5 stars, but the reason i am not doing it, is because there's room for improvement. I went by myself and was given a table. I waited about 10-12 mins for the initial drinks/appetizers offering from the waitress. I was ready to order by then, so placed my order. Waited another roughly 20 mins (seriously not complaining) and the wait was completely worthy. I ordered the Egg Benedict BLT and it was completely up to my tasting level. Loved it. The service was great! Food was delicious and the ambiance was casual and comfortable. I like the decor too: new look - farm theme- nice booths and tables. Music was the perfect background volume. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes and two eggs over hard. The lemon curd was perfectly made - sweet and tart with just three right consistency... Pancakes fluffy, round and reasonably thick. Oh and strawberries on top with lightly sprinkled powdered sugar. They cooked the eggs perfectly too. They also have REAL maple syrup! Always a bonus for me. No chemicals if I can avoid them!!! Two fresh squeezed juice options as well. I had the one with beets, ginger orange and something else. Big portions so come hungry!! I ordered the "Florentine Benedict": Two poached cage-free eggs atop toasted ciabatta piled high with fresh baby spinach, avocado and vine-ripened tomato and covered with hollandaise. Served with lightly dressed organic mixed greens. I felt like it lacked flavor. I thought the spinach would have been sauteed but I was completely wrong. My gf had the "Belgian Waffle": light and airy waffle with a side of warm, berry compote. She was sweet enough to give me a bite or two and it was absolutely delicious. I tried to get her to switch with me but I didn't win that battle. We also tried the "million dollar bacon": It's their signature hardwood smoked bacon baked with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and a maple syrup drizzle. As soon as you walk in, great customer service! I felt very comfortable walking in. The menu selection is what intrigued me in trying First Watch out and not to mention the awesome Yelp reviews. I love that their selections are healthier than typical breakfast diners, and they offer turkey sausage as an option for non pork eaters. Everything on the menu was so tempting, however, I finally decided to go with the Healthy Turkey---which I have no regrets! OMG...this beautiful egg white omelette with turkey, house-roasted onions, tomatoes, spinach and feta. Served with a dry English muffin. The roasted onions and cheese made it amazing!!! I had the smoked salmon frittatas it's not a warm meal as the salmon is cold and almost raw. On a piece of toast with eggs. I didn't really enjoyed it I wanted to try something new as I normally eat the pancakes and waffles with eggs which are amazing. There food is really good I just don't prefer this. We arrived after a tough workout and were really hungry!! We were seated promptly, everyone was friendly, and our server was phenomenal! She was so helpful and made some great recommendations. We shared the pumpkin pancakes between three of us. They were delicious!! I had a skillet with lots of veggies and while it was delicious, there were too many potatoes. A friend also had a similar meal and thought the same. However, neither of us were complaining. We loved our food! We love this place and have been to it multiple times for weekday brunch. It is formerly "Egg and I." We recommend their traditional Eggs Benedict and breakfast specials, that are served all day. We had the Eggs Benedict $10 and the Trifecta Breakfast $9.50. Both were excellent. I have attached a copy of our check. If you are really picky about how your eggs are done, be VERY specific with your server. Cooks error on the "more cooked" side of prep, so be specific if you like really soft cooked. They have a fun fall set of new menu with a fig theme. Place is roomy, very ADA friendly and VERY clean. They are very welcoming to folks that come to eat and stay for a nice long chat...in that respect the unlimited refills of coffee and the pot on your table are a great deal. Coffee was $2.70, so I recommend doing you caffeine at home or the office, before dining. read more

We were quickly seated on a Friday during lunch time. I ordered what I thought would be bagel and lox but was sadly mistaken when it came out and there was no cream cheese. No worries as our lovely waitress Bella did everything she could to revive the meal. My original meal was an egg Benedict but because I do not eat eggs, I substituted chicken sausage. I ended up with a piece of bread topped with smoked salmon, tomato, avocado and mozzarella cheese. It was okay. I appreciate Bella for trying to save the meal. In the future I know to just order something else. My bff had the works omelet and she enjoyed it. I would definitely give this place another try. read more

This spot is fully opened with outside seating. The wait staff are friendly and accommodating. The kitchen had trouble making light fluffy pancakes, but the waitstaff made sure they got it right! We had a rocky first visit with the kitchen but the wait staff were so very kind that we decided to return the next day! They did not fail us. Everything was great. Had to remake the pancakes but everything else was awesome and the wait staff just as kind. We'll return when we are back in the area for sure! read more
