Of all the local breakfast joints in the east valley, this is by far my favorite! Great prices. Great service. Healthy-Human-sized portions. Quality ingredients. Delicious specialty juices. First Watch - Eggs Florentine Benedict & Specialty pancakes & juices - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

After hearing their commercials for a couple of months, I decided to give them a try. Food: SO fresh!! Apparently their catch phrase is, "yeah, it's fresh," and I must say they lived up to that expectation during my visit. I ordered a seasonal frittata. It was excellent! I loved the assortment of squashes, mushrooms, and other vegetables. I also ordered a fresh green juice which was refreshing and chock full of vitamins. Service: They get BUSY!! So be sure you have ample time to wait around before you go. While the wait was not long, it might be bothersome to the youngsters (and their parents!) So plan accordingly. My server was very friendly and attentive. Be sure to have some cash on you as bills are paid at the front of the establishment. Ambience: Super cute, very modern/hipster vibe without being too snotty. I liked that the water arrived in old glass milk bottles. It definitely added to the experience! Final point: Don't go expecting a late lunch as the place closes at 2:30. Enjoy! read more

This place is notorious for poor dishwasher. Every time we come in there is always specs of food on all of the dishware. Whenever my fiancé and I ordered, they always seem to forget the no butter request. Otherwise, the food is great and the staff are decent. The prices are OK.. read more

Delicious food as always. Had the kale drink and my mom had the turmeric drink. Both were yummy. We had 3 meals - all three of us had the Two for You with a roast beeff/horseradish sandwich. I had the chicken fiesta type salad, my friend had the kale and my mom had a third type. All were very good. We'd definitely go back and order those again. read more

Amazing waffles! Waffles are my first breakfast love. I am picky about my crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, light, but buttery waffles and First Watch has the best! We visited this location at about 12:30 on the weekend and they were pretty busy. It is nice to use Yelp waitlist as we were 2nd in line when we arrived and didn't need to stand more than 3 min to be seated even though there was a wait. The food took a bit longer than usual, but our server was very attentive and nice. The eggs that were a part of my trifecta order were perfect, my hubs liked his breakfast chimi something, and I really appreciated the accommodation for the chocolate chips on the side for my little one's chocolate chip pancake kids meal. I wish I could eat breakfast here every morning. I don't think I would tire of the perfectly cooked waffles. read more

The food is good one of my favorite breakfast spots. The only thing is, the manager is rude to the employees. The manager today got mad at the host for seating us right away when there were more than 6 open tables and it wasn't busy for a monday morning . Was raising his voice at the host when asking him for forks. Made the environment feel awkward and uncomfortable. Please treat your employees with respect. read more

I've given this place too many chances and it falls short each time. I've noticed each time we go, every person who orders has to make some sort of substitution to the menu... that's because their menu choices are just slightly bizarre. And every time we go, someone, if not multiple people at my table, have their orders come out wrong. They allow you to do greens or potatoes, for example, and this morning, 2 of the 5 people at our table received the wrong side. Another reviewer said it perfectly about the coffee too... it totally tastes like something from Denny's or Ihop, but you'll pay a lot more for it at First watch. Finally, we have to ask for water, we have to ask for water refills, I needed to ask 3 times for an extra plate for my child (we informed the waitress when ordering that we were sharing), etc. To sum it up...I think this place tries to dress up an otherwise blah experience. read more

Great food. Creative menu. Great vibe and decor The one big drawback...you've GOT to make espresso and cappuccino and great coffee. Just providing drip coffee from the lowest bidder cheapens the whole experience. As an example, my incredible breakfast sandwich and pan-cooked potatoes were a culinary delight, but the drip coffee I washed them down with was totally from Denny's....it brought the entire experience to a crashing halt. So, make better coffee and get an espresso machine and you'll get 4-5 stars.... read more

Great place and great food! We were facing a 45 minute wait at another restaurant so I called First Watch and they said to go online and put our name in (they have an app too) so we did and by the time we drove over there and checked in, our table was ready! I would go back just for the Chickichanga - it was SOOOO GOOD. Very friendly service, too. read more

I have to start this review off by saying I love the food and love the staff and this is one of me and my family's breakfast spots we love to go to but I have to say I'm very disappointed in the manager as this is the THIRD time I have seen how he's treating his team. As a manager I would never talk to my employees in a demeaning manner, ESPECIALLY in front of customers. Not only is it rude but it's embarrassing for the workers and does not provide a healthy work environment. That's the type of management that makes people not want to go to work. I hope those staff know how they get treated by him is not okay and something needs to be done. If you're not taking care of the customer you better be taking care of who is. read more

We received a BOGO coupon for an entree in the mail, so we decided we'd try this place. I ordered the Farmer's Biscuit sandwich and hubby ordered the Chickichanga. The apple butter tasted great on the sandwich, but there wasn't much of it on there. The egg yolk was already broken when the sandwich was brought to the table and it was running out all over the plate. The biscuit was a little dry and was very hard to eat because it kept breaking apart. Our order took about 20 minutes to get to us. I think you can get better bang for your buck at many other breakfast joints so I was glad I got a BOGO coupon to try it out. read more

First of all, sign up for the First Watch club to get a free birthday meal! I came here by myself because all my friends have normal day jobs and this place is only open until 2pm. Anyway, the seasonal menu grabbed my attention with the Pumpkin Pancake meal, which included eggs and chicken sausage. I'm not usually a pancake fan, but I do love me some pumpkin. It was sooo good. The sausage was delicious as well. Everything tasted freshly made, except....my iced coffee. It didn't say anywhere on the menu that it was hand crafted, but that's what I was expecting. I swear they just poured me a glass of International Delight Iced Coffee from a carton! It tasted very artificial. That being said, I would definitely return (for the food). read more

Their Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast was fabulous! The pancake edges were cooked just enough to give a little crunch on the first bite. Then that perfect blend of pumpkin spice, butter, and maple syrup hits your tastebuds. At that point, you just sit back and enjoy the ride. Our MC had a meeting so finding someplace that was able to accommodate almost 30 people was a task. I called a few days early and was able to make a reservation. I called the morning of to confirm as the manager had requested at the time I made the initial reservation for us. More people showed up than we thought and the staff worked quickly to get us more tables and chairs. The food selection is really good for anyone who like fresh healthy options. The portion sizes for the money are excellent! A few of the people in our party had their orders messed up and were frustrated but who likes being hungry and seeing others have their food when you don't? The only real issue that a few in our party who provided feedback when I asked about going back was the issues with the bills. We all let the servers know who was on what check before we ordered so it wouldn't have to be separated at the end. There were several bills that had the wrong food on them. It took awhile to get it all straightened out. With exception of one of the servers the rest were AMAZING! The one who wasn't may have just thought since it was a large group of bikers it was ok to be a bit of a smart a$$. read more

Very solid , food was perfectly cooked i honestly enjoyed the traditional breakfast with my big blueberry pancake , me and my lady went for breakfast this am and were in lust with food . Only issue was service , we might be picky but with that good of food you have to compliment it with a great server every shift , pj was nice but just not attentive , I wanted refills on my water , I wanted sides of butter I had to ask other servers , didn't check on us at all except right before we even finished and said hope you enjoyed it I'll have ur tab right away . Today was my first time coming to First Watch...I'm disappointed in myself that it took me so long to come here! This was the best first experience I've ever had in a restaurant! I had two servers were PJ and Katelyn (in training). They were both very friendly and knowledgeable about the foods and answered all of my questions without hesitation. I ordered the lunch special (2 for 2) with the ham and gruyere sandwich and the chopped chicken avocado salad, along with a bowl of vegetable soup and a bowl of tomato basil soup. This was an AMAZING meal!!!! Yes it was a lot of food...and yes I ate every bit of it. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the food. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK HERE...A LOT!! read more

Just arrived from Hawaii in the AM and was looking for a breakfast spot on the spot and First Watch pulled up on Yelp and had great reviews and was nearby the airport so we decided to try it out. Arrived right when they opened and had a lot of openings. We were seated right away and had the best server ever! His name was Junior(wears glasses) and he was just on point and on purpose with everything. Got build that friendship and trust as he served us. Gave us couple recommendations and took his word for it! Food was awesome! Tasty breakfast and also have us some samples of their fresh juice. Toast was good, eggs Benedict was good, and had a Farmers breakfast? I forgot the name but it had Farmers on it. Really awesome, breakfast spot with a nice modern yet rustic wood vibe. I highly recommend this place for breakfast! Go check it out and have Junior as your server! You won't regret it! read more

The food was delicious and had a great presentation. It just took forever to get our food! We were there at least about 30-45 minutes before our food arrived. For a breakfast place that's an eternity. Unsure if I will go back due to not knowing if that's a normal occurrence or not. read more

Went in by myself waited for a waitress to approach me after seeing three people being seated, and ordering. Waitress came after finishing the three other tables that came after me, put my order in got the short rib omelette. My food came out in a to go box even though I never asked for it to go the kitchen staff came back with it on a plate and it was cold. the waitress never asked me how my food was and never approached my table again after that point I waited about 15 minutes after my food was finished and some other random staff finally approached me to tell me that I have to pay upfront. Also the potatoes were extremely undercooked and still crunchy. This is my first and hopefully my only yelp review but I truly did have a bad experience. read more
