Overall excellent food, service, atmosphere. Only noticeable area of improvement would be some of the potatoes were on the undercooked side, but not the whole plate of them - just some cubes. And I like a darker roast coffee. Seems a bit weak. Other than that, I was very happy with the freshness and clearly wholesome ingredients. I definitely want to come back and try more options. It was really hard to choose. So many wonderful things on the menu. Everyone in your party should have no problems finding something. Looking at what was in front of other guests at their table made choosing harder. And upon leaving, the cooks were working and talking and smiling. Happy cooks cook with pride. Ran out of OJ on Easter Sunday brunch. Really? Thankfully, the server advised us of such only after asking for our juice 3 times and being 1/2 way finished with our meal. It was okay. Half of our table waited a long time to get their meals and then the wrong one was given to them. The wait staff was helpful to my 93-year-old mother which was definitely a plus. I did not care for the corned beef hash because it had far more sweet and regular potatoes than the actual corned beef. I have had other things on the menu in the past and enjoyed them. Very disappointed with my visit here today ! Wait for a table despite plenty of tables being available. Slow service to start, did not get acknowledged for quite some time after being seated. Food was mediocre at best, after having possibly the worst avocado toast I've ever add! No sense adding Maldon salt to it if avocado itself is as bland can be. I would suggest a little lemon juice and some crushed garlic to the smashed avocado to improve this tasteless dish served here. The saving grace was the Coffee which was very good! read more

The First Watch is one of my favorite breakfast and lunch places. I write reviews for each visit. Today, Sunday, all people were in one line to pay or ask for a table. The manager worked both systems. It worked but was slow. He then asked for help with the check out. Instead of asking for who is next in line, he started a new line. It resulted in everyone who arrived first were now last in line. One lady older in line tried to communicate to the manager about the line, but was intentionally ignored by the manager. People turned around and acknowledged and agreed to her statement. It resulted in several groups of people leaving. Probably 12 people turned around and left. Each plate is typically $12-$15 including coffee or $144 in lost business. Plus tips to the staff. I don't recommend First Watch during weekends. It is too crowded and the managers are to stressed to keep the guests happy. read more

Large menu with a wide variety of choices. My mom and I split the bananas foster waffle and the market skillet. Both were great! They do have a small portion of menu for your "regular type" breakfast, but most options are unique which I love, but not all do. Expect more different options. Mequon location. The staff was friendly. Atmosphere is open and bright. Dish I had was okay. The food was too salty for my taste. Orange juice with booster was super sweet; it tasted like Tang. This became our only choice during a slippery icy rain day, but we are so glad to come here. I know this is a chain breakfast place, but it's options and vide made it very local. I'm so glad to find gluten free menu and some very healthy and rather hipster drink menu. I got açaí bowl and morning meditation (mix of root vegetable) drink. The açaí bowl comes with two slice of bread with almond butter (yum). The server is very professional and helpful. Tried this watch on over and over again and I just can't buy it, maybe time to get that Rolex. The food is just sub par. The egg white omelet has zero flavor. The biscuits and gravy, pure floury mess with no seasoning. The other day one of the members in our party ordered eggs with a side of steamed broccoli. The eggs were cold and the broccoli was not cooked. There are other breakfast places I would highly recommend in the area over First Watch. I doubt a fifth chance will happen. read more

I've been to First Watch several times. Good atmosphere with bright colorful art, prompt service, and an impressive menu that will knock your socks off. I took advantage of the Yelp deal ($8 for $16). While I like the menu, I haven't been impressed with the product. I had biscuits and gravy with eggs. The biscuits were dry and the gravy lacked flavor. It was floury and one note. Some spice and added dimensions would so it justice. I haven't tried the lunch menu. I will give it another shot. Still there are other favorite breakfast spots I prefer over this place. read more

I really wanted to like my meal yesterday. I've been to other locations across the US and never had a bad experience until I tried this location in my backyard. It started very promising. The gentleman at the door was super welcoming and cheerful. We sat and were given menus and then waited... and waited. After a very lengthy wait someone finally come over and offered coffee. I said we would like to order right away. We ordered one of the specials, a bacon cornbread. We also got a classic eggs Benedict, the trifecta (waffle, scrambled eggs and bacon) and 2 sides of buttered grits. Now I like butter as much as the next person, maybe even more. But there was so much butter on these grits that even after we mixed it in, there were puddles of liquid butter that would not mix. They were sadly inedible. The cornbread was quite tasty, but we had to eat the top off of it as the bottom was burned black. I would have liked to have complained or sent it back at the time, but we literally never saw anyone again after the food was dropped. We sat and sat waiting for the check. I asked another server to see if she could get our check, and she said she would have our server bring it. We then waited another 10 minutes before I finally gave up and went to the front and asked if I could pay. I really wanted to like this because of the location, but there are too many other good breakfast places around to consider going back. read more

So, I am embarrassed to say that despite our love of dining out this was our first time to First Watch. It has only been there ten years! Expecting a low key modest cafe, we were pleasantly surprised at an upscale cleanliness and modern decor with friendly staff and moreover absolutely delicious and healthy Meals made with the freshest of ingredients. Nothing - nothing- was overdone. I ordered an Italian skillet and there was just the right amount of potatoes, well prepared, and just the right amount of cheese and sun dried tomatoes. I had lunch at First Watch today and really enjoyed the overall experience. Food - I loved my TriAthlete Omlet. It was huge and filled with veggies. Real talks here - eating out often while also trying to eat healthy is very difficult. My job leads me to new and exciting restaurants weekly, which is great until you realize you're probably eating 1000+ calorie lunches on the daily. I like that First Watch has a lot of healthy options and includes caloric content on the menu. If you go online, they also break down protein, carbs, sugar, etc. for each meal. This, my friends, as lame as it sounds, is solid gold in my book. The other people I dined with both had the Power Bowl with chicken, pesto, quinoa, kale, sun-dried tomatoes and feta. I tried their dishes and they were also really delicious! [Side note : I picked around the kale. I really, really want to love kale, but you could dip that junk in chocolate, deep fry it with an Oreo, wrap it in a cream filled crepe and I still wouldn't touch it with a 10ft stick. We're just not meant to work.] Atmosphere - This is your basic breakfast/brunch/lunch diner. Nothing special, polished or unique. They have an adequate amount of booths and tables that there wasn't a wait on a weekday lunch, but, I've walked in here on a weekend with a 40 minute wait. They also had a few tables outside which is nice on a summer day. So, all in all, if you're okay without luxury cafe features, you won't miss out on a great meal! Prices - I thought that the menu prices averaging $10 seemed worth it. I got alot of food. My omelet, fresh fruit, english muffin etc for the price and was happy with the quality. I cant wait to go back here! I love the waiting list on Yelp. Just as we showed up I received a text that our table was ready. Our server was great...very friendly and attentive. Our food was delicious. We shared the million dollar bacon, chorizo tostados, and lemon/strawberry ricotta pancakes. Everything was so good! Our go to favorite breakfast place anywhere outside of the east side or third ward. My only complaint, if it's really a complaint at all, is that this is a chain and not truly local. That said they are delicious, try to source locally and are head and shoulders above all the local places who source all their mediocre food from the same food service places. The food is always good and often times rises to great. The service is surprisingly good and reliable which is very rare in Mequon. There are other locations too. And we've eaten at a few of them but really like this location a lot. I feel bad reviewing it so highly since it might help make it busier. But they deserve the good press and extra business. read more
