We were greeted with such genuine warmth and what almost felt like excitement that we had chosen to stop in, which immediately set the tone for the meal. The restaurant was busy enough to feel lively without being overwhelming, and we were seated right away. Briana took excellent care of us throughout the experience, handling our indecisiveness with patience and making us feel completely comfortable taking our time. Her attentive service never missed a beat, and the experience was so delightful that I made a point of sharing my compliments with the manager on duty before we left. I had heard nice things about this restaurant so thought it would be a nice treat. Unfortunately the food was completely underwhelming. I had the special Tres Leches French toast. The bread was hardly battered, tough almost stale, dry and flavorless. Not sure what the name had to do with dry bread and strawberries. My wife had the Lemon curd pancakes. These also came out dark brown and dry. The curd on top was the only redeeming part of that overcooked and chewy order. My son ordered drilled cheese and he said he liked it. Service was fine, but not anything memorable. We do enjoy Le Peep and go there for treat. We won't go back to First Watch Matthews for brunch, we'll stick to Le Peep. This was my first visit to a First Watch location, and it will be my last. Our party of six was quoted a 20-25-minute wait, but we were not seated for about 55 minutes. After being seated, no one even took our drink order for 20 minutes, and it took over 35 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. I walked in for a togo order. I ordered the salmon Benedict it was good. I got the morning They have their own parking lot. Their menu had a little bit of everything on it. The staff was friendly it took about 10-15min for my meal to be made and that was great for a togo order. The layout was open. I was able to sit and wait on my meal inside. Came for lunch on a Friday at 12 pm. Was not packed and immediately sat. They do have a parking lot which plenty of parking spaces. It is a bit small and shared with other businesses, so I can see it being a bit packed during peak hours. The food was delicious! I got a the farm house hash skillet bowl, and it was delicious! I've been here so many times as it's my partners favorite place. waited an hour today to get inside. just me and my partner sitting with a baby. a table of 8 comes in after sits down and ordered. all of them got food before we did. our food comes out I ordered the chiqules bowl. there was only 2 tiny pieces of meat and the chips were completely soggy. both my partner and kids waffle was soggy and cold along with a few pieces of potatoes in my billion dollar potatoes which was odd. never got our water pitcher refilled and the bacon amounts they both got even tho they ordered the same thing. i Didn't want to say anything in person because I didn't want to have to wait another 30 minutes to get our food remade after waiting an hour and a half already. also the men's bathroom had pee all of the floor it was almost puddled behind the toilet and neither men's or women's bathroom had paper towels. I eat here frequently and this is the first time that I've ordered steel cut oatmeal and it tasted like a warm hug. It came with bananas strawberries pecans milk and butter. The million dollar bacon is . I forgot to mention that the oatmeal came with a delicious warm blueberry muffin. The franchise is consistently good no matter where I've eaten it and the staff is always warm and friendly. The interior Decor is sort of Farmhouse Industrial. It's fairly chatty inside and they are accommodating of children as well. Lots of people like to meet up there for breakfast meals and they also serve sandwiches. I have to confess the first time I went to a First Watch location in another state I didn't realize they were a chain. I was very impressed and upon learning they were a chain I immediately had to look up the nearest locations. I came into the Matthews location for Sunday brunch. There was quite a line of people waiting to be seated but it moved quickly and after a 30 minute wait we got our table for two. The restaurant like the other location I've been to has an urban farmhouse aesthetic and despite a large interior the tables are packed in pretty tightly to seat a lot of diners. I decided on the ham and Gruyère melt along with some home fries and a side of bacon. Of course I had to get a mimosa as well. After our meal we also tried some coffee and the mint iced mocha was incredible. First Watch is easily one of my favorite chain restaurants and this location did not disappoint. The food is fresh and the menu is extensive with a mix of classic breakfast staples and some bold twists as well. read more

I ordered the kale tonic for my drink it was good. The Apple kale balance was perfect. My children enjoyed orange juice. For our meals the kids had pancakes and Turkey sausage. They give a good size portion of food for the kids meal. Mines are younger so they had plenty to take home. My husband ordered the oatmeal with fruit it also came with a muffin. I didn't have a good first impression with First Watch but luckily, you can't always judge a book by it's cover. I ordered pickup through Uber Eats. When I arrived, my food wasn't ready yet but I was told it would be just a minute. NBD. I waited. And waited - watching bag after bag being placed in the pickup area. A kind waiter brought me a chair - did I mention that my foot is broken and I'm in a walking boot? I was asked my name several times, but still no food. FINALLY, the manager came over and had me show him my Uber eats receipt. Apparently they lost my order. He told me "two minutes". So I continued to wait and wait and watch bag after bag..... I finally received my food, got it home and dug right in. I had the Market Veggie sandwich. Sautéed mushrooms, zucchini and spinach, topped with melty mozzarella and pesto and served on super fresh whole grain. It was spectacular. It also came with a choice of soup or salad. Even though it's 90 degrees, I ordered the soup. I was so full that it will be my lunch tomorrow. My DIL ordered avocado toast. She said it was wonderful. If you don't want to wait long I suggest going there 1-2 hours before closing because there is usually 20-25 min wait at opening hours. Plenty of free parking in the parking lot. The Sunset Rise and Kale Tonic are very good juices, Lavender Haze is a bit too sweet for me. I eat breakfast here about every other month or whenever they have a special item that looks good. Today I ordered the BARBACOA QUESADILLA BENEDICT because it looked so good on the website. The plate I received looked nothing like the pretty pic. However, I absolutely LOVED the lemony hollandaise sauce. The side of black beans were bland and lukewarm. They definitely needed more seasoning. The quesadillas were good, but I left wishing they had a bit more filling in them. Maybe it's just me but I left feeling hungry still.
