I walked in for a togo order. I ordered the salmon Benedict it was good. I got the morning They have their own parking lot. Their menu had a little bit of everything on it. The staff was friendly it took about 10-15min for my meal to be made and that was great for a togo order. The layout was open. I was able to sit and wait on my meal inside. The bread was hardly battered, tough almost stale, dry and flavorless. Not sure what the name had to do with dry bread and strawberries. My wife had the Lemon curd pancakes. These also came out dark brown and dry. The curd on top was the only redeeming part of that overcooked and chewy order. My son ordered drilled cheese and he said he liked it. Came for lunch on a Friday at 12 pm. Was not packed and immediately sat. They do have a parking lot which plenty of parking spaces. I have to confess the first time I went to a First Watch location in another state I didn't realize they were a chain. I was very impressed and upon learning they were a chain I immediately had to look up the nearest locations. I came into the Matthews location for Sunday brunch. There was quite a line of people waiting to be seated but it moved quickly and after a 30 minute wait we got our table for two. The restaurant like the other location I've been to has an urban farmhouse aesthetic and despite a large interior the tables are packed in pretty tightly to seat a lot of diners. I decided on the ham and Gruyère melt along with some home fries and a side of bacon. Of course I had to get a mimosa as well. After our meal we also tried some coffee and the mint iced mocha was incredible. First Watch is easily one of my favorite chain restaurants and this location did not disappoint. The food is fresh and the menu is extensive with a mix of classic breakfast staples and some bold twists as well. read more

I eat here frequently and this is the first time that I've ordered steel cut oatmeal and it tasted like a warm hug. It came with bananas strawberries pecans milk and butter. The million dollar bacon is . I forgot to mention that the oatmeal came with a delicious warm blueberry muffin. The franchise is consistently good no matter where I've eaten it and the staff is always warm and friendly. The interior Decor is sort of Farmhouse Industrial. It's fairly chatty inside and they are accommodating of children as well. Lots of people like to meet up there for breakfast meals and they also serve sandwiches. I didn't have a good first impression with First Watch but luckily, you can't always judge a book by it's cover. I ordered pickup through Uber Eats. When I arrived, my food wasn't ready yet but I was told it would be just a minute. NBD. I waited. And waited - watching bag after bag being placed in the pickup area. A kind waiter brought me a chair - did I mention that my foot is broken and I'm in a walking boot? I was asked my name several times, but still no food. FINALLY, the manager came over and had me show him my Uber eats receipt. Apparently they lost my order. He told me "two minutes". So I continued to wait and wait and watch bag after bag..... I finally received my food, got it home and dug right in. I had the Market Veggie sandwich. Sautéed mushrooms, zucchini and spinach, topped with melty mozzarella and pesto and served on super fresh whole grain. It was spectacular. It also came with a choice of soup or salad. Even though it's 90 degrees, I ordered the soup. I was so full that it will be my lunch tomorrow. My DIL ordered avocado toast. She said it was wonderful.
