Big first watch chain fans & happy they opened a location in Loveland. However when I arrived & tried to order my usual menu order of homemade veggie burger that's typically on all first watch menus, I was told by the waiter that they decided not to include this item on the menu. Boy was I disappointed as since I have multiple food restrictions, this was the only thing on the menu that I could eat or liked. My husband did order the French toast and liked it. Unfortunately although close by, will still have to go to Longmont first watch where they still have the full menu. Gave 3 stars since location was clean & my husband's food was good. Although glasses on table were still wet and had lots of water stains. Server staff seemed nice as well. Too bad about my menu favorite being deleted from this menu. Unfortunately they lost this customer. So if you typically order the veggie burger, don't bother with this location. Go to Longmont first watch instead! read more

I loved the Egg and I and was sorry to see them go. First Watch's food is no where as appealing or good as their predecessor I'm sorry to say. I've now gone for breakfast and lunch a few times. I really tried to judge their food on its merit and not in comparison with The Egg. I do not like their menu selections for breakfast or lunch. My selections were just okay. Service was very good. Very disappointed. First, no one waited on our table for 10 minutes because there was confusion as to whose table it was. Then we get our food and the pancake was hard, cold, and tough. To our waitress's credit she was apologetic and took it off our bill AND gave us a fresh one. She was a sweetheart and good at her job. But the rest of the food was just okay. The First Watch chain seems to be making the attempt to provide fresh, healthy breakfast and lunch foods. I have been to their location in Northglen and have enjoyed both excellent food and service. Yesterday was my first visit to the Loveland location, and they definitely have room for improvement. The food was very good, and I would recommend them for that reason. The service was far, far, less than stellar. After more than 10 minutes waiting at our table, while the dinning area was not busy, we had to walk to the front desk and request a server. When she arrived she was defensive and not very helpful. The food arrived quickly, delivered by 2 other people who stood at the end of the table holding four meals. Since our original server did not tell them who ordered which meals they stood there and announced each meal and waited for us to tell them where to place it. Auctioning off the food at the table is not good service. All four in our party enjoyed our food. When we were finished our original server cleared the table by picking up each plate, scraping and stacking directly in front of me! It took the chef's/cook's beautiful presentation of the food and turned it into garbage, at the table! Really? It was as though we were in a truck stop. Very unimpressed. The bill was dropped off without asking if we wanted anything else. No one came to pick up the bill or to tell us they prefer payment up at the front desk. I would be willing to return and give them one more chance, since the food is so good. But, it seems since this dinning category is so popular and we have so many choices of excellent places to eat, First Watch would, could and should do a better job at training their staff and holding them accountable. read more

Had a delicious, healthy breakfast at First Watch in Loveland. I had the Smoked Salmon Frittata with Chive Cream Sauce. Debi had Eggs Benedict. Our waitress, Caitlin, brought us samples of the Coconut Milk Pudding with Chia Seeds and three of their freshly squeezed and mixed juices. That pear juice would be great warm too! PAMPERED! Disappointed is an understatement. The menu, although creative, lacks the quality of artisan food. The service was impersonal and dismissive. Our check was dropped with our food and we were checked on at the end of the meal. Million dollar bacon is little more than bacon with syrup drizzled over it. Hmph. Totally whatever food, not worth the higher prices. Unfortunately, the biscuits and gravy, which come in a bowl, look extra unappetizing and are very bland to boot. The French toast is on par with what you could make at home -- nothing special at all. The coffee was quite bitter; half a cup was all I could take, even with sugar and cream. This place is something refreshingly different in Loveland. I am pretty discerning with breakfast places. I can make lots of breakfast options at home like the ones that 'the egg and I ' served (which was previously in the same building, and the only reason for any negative reviews here... because people that religiously went to the egg and i [I was not a fan] want this place to still be the egg and I... so ridiculous. It's like the Cartman yelp reviewer sketch on southpark!). Anyway, this place has lots of excellent healthy options and plenty of indulgent choices, too. They are using fresh ingredients and lots of flavor, real maple syrup, fresh herbs and veggies, fresh fruit.... these things cost more. And restaurant profit margins are really small. If you want cheap breakfast ingredients, there are plenty of places in Loveland to fit the bill, but this is not one of them. Service has been great for us here. So give these people a try if you want a really great breakfast and you're willing to pay a little more for fresher ingredients. Otherwise, quit your whining and find a Perkins or Village Inn and get your bland, fatty breakfast game on. read more

Went here for brunch with a girlfriend and it was great! The juice bar is a fun healthy option too. Actually there seemed to be a good amount of healthy options. I will totally be back and most likely try the one in Fort Collins. There was a bit of a wait but that's expected and normal. It's nice that they have outdoor seating too. A waiting area would be nice but they can't help that. I must say it also doesn't have the pretentious feeling that some breakfast places in Old Town tend to have. I was splendidly surprised to stumble upon this stellar spot! I was immediately greeted with smiling faces and the excellent customer service continued throughout our entire dining experience. Our waitress was kind and patient as we asked many questions and changed our minds a few times. The food was delicious and I am already eager to go back and try something else. My wife and I went there on a trip with her two brothers a few months ago. The HOSTESS was unbelievably HORRIBLE! She was blaming her coworkers for things in front of people, left the counter several times with a full line of people, and when I went to pay after our meal she said "it wouldn't take so long if people didn't split up their bills", loud enough for everyone to hear and in a snotty tone. Second time my son and I went there. First time I was given a senior discount after I asked for one. Today, a snotty hostess said they don't give senior discounts. I told her I received one in the past. She said "this isnt Egg and I. We don't give discounts". I looked at my son and said she has a great attitude. She then offered to get manager. Eric came out and said they don't give senior discounts. I again said I received one before. He said he's the only one that can give discounts and sometimes he does, sometimes not. Wow. So how does he determine who receives a discount and who doesn't ? Loveland has a lot of elderly people but they are obviously discriminating against seniors by not offering anything. He took 2.00 off my bill but only under pressure. Corporate needs to explain the inconsistent discount for seniors and if no discounts are offered to seniors, why not. read more

We really liked the Egg and I, but don't so much like First Watch. ...unfortunate. We've been to this first watch a couple of times now, and have decided to find a new go-to breakfast spot. The food usually isn't hot when we get it, and service is hit or miss. Also, they have menus on the hostess desk that don't match the menus they give at the tables, which is weird. I wish they had the same things that the egg and i featured, and the same quality. Last time we went, the hostess kept taking payments that were walking up in front of me rather than even acknowledging my standing there waiting to put my name on the list. She then told her co-worker a story before finally looking at me and asking if I'd been helped. Really!? I was standing there right in front of her, looking at her - for a solid 5 minutes. Then she wanted a phone number to text us when our table was ready. ...this isn't Boulder-there's nowhere to go near this egg and i, so not a great practice for this location as everyone waits just inside or outside of the building. Calling out names works just fine. The food did not come out as ordered, but we just ate it and decided not to come back (unless we're really desperate!). I even unsubscribed from their email deals. A cheap breakfast is great and all, when it's actually tasty and worth the wait. read more

Very disappointed! When I read the initial write up about the switch from Egg & I to First Watch, it informed that the menu for the Loveland and Ft Collins restaurants would not change to the new First Watch menu. WRONG!!! It appears the old menu only lasted about 2 weeks. The menu is completely different, nothing from the Egg & I remains. That said, First Watch bouts 'fresh made'. Egg & I was ALWAYS fresh made, so I don't know what the big deal is there. And unless your idea of breakfast revolves around chicken and avacados, I suggest you find a different restaurant. When we first sat down, the waitress brought a carafe of coffee, she filled my husbands cup, but there was only enough to fill my cup half way. She apologized and said 'I will leave this (carafe) here'. Which she did, but she never returned to fill my cup or replace the empty carafe. Regarding the breakfast dishes, avacados, onions, and diced tomatoes appear to be the only vegetables they use. I ordered 'The Works' omelette. It was basically a plain whipped egg omelette, filled with meat. Lots of diced ham, bacon, and sliced turkey sausage, and a couple onions. Where were the vegetables??? Also it was supposed to have two cheeses, I could not detect any cheese ... very dry. It was topped with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of diced tomatoes. No or very little seasoning, and overall lacking in flavor. My husband had the 'Farmhouse hash'. It was very heavy on potatoes and very dry, all the ingredients separated. Oh, and they forgot to put the eggs on top! We did enjoy the Artisan toast (this looks to be the only bread option for breakfast, no wheat or sourdough, english muffins). We felt the menu was higher priced than the Egg & I, so it was a pretty expensive breakfast to only enjoy the toast!!! We pride ourselves to be adventurous in trying new foods, new restaurants, but we have no plans to return to First Watch. This appears to be a menu that belongs in Boulder. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts in Loveland and Fort Collins. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. Are used to come here when it was the Egg and I. Where to begin. The menu changed, and the quality of the food has gone down as well. The eggs were always fluffy and tasteful, now I could get these at 7-Eleven and get a better tasting eggs. Service is horrible, and the best Service is horrible... Making you wait, they're not even coming to your table before during and after your meal in a timely manner. The people who clear the tables are rude and ignore you most of the time, except if you're waiting for a table tell you to go back to the front of the restaurant even though you were promised the one table you were about to sit down at which is still horribly dirty. The music is turned up so loud they will not turn it down and when asked they say the corporate office says it has to be that high. Really? They can't just turn it down, without making a phone call to corporate or having somebody come out to check it? Everyone was complaining. You couldn't even hear yourself talk. Just ridiculous, lacking common sense even on a customer service level. We actually got up and left when we were told we couldn't stay on by the table we were about to sit down out by the rude bus staff. We left the restaurant and as we were leaving another group was leaving and said that was a good choice for us to leave as well. The outside is a horrible gray color and the sign doesn't attract anybody inside because you don't even know it's a restaurant, and prices are higher. What a disaster. Don't come here. read more

God the switch from The egg and I to first watch is so devastating. The egg and I were my boyfriend and Is favorite spot, the waitress and waiters always knew our order that's how often we went! So when we drove past our favorite breakfast spot to see it with a new name without any warning was heart breaking! But I figured hey let's give it a shot.... unfortunately the new menu is upsetting because now you have to pay extra for literally everything... and they took my favorite meal off the menu! When I asked the waitress if they could make it she said "you'd have to pay for it all individually which will make it expensive," which is sad coming from one of the employees. So I ended up getting a whole different meal which was good (but you can't fuck up pancakes), the side of toast was bullshit because it was one bread split in half when it used to be 2 pieces of bread split into 4. My boyfriend said the biscuits and gravy were terrible now and the potatoes were ok but not as good as before! Plus the service was so much slower this time and we always come on the busy weekends! I saw a 2 person table sit there dirty for the entire time we waited (20 minutes). Then when it was cleaned and we were seated no one came up to us for another 10 minutes.. there were just waitresses and waiters everywhere bringing meals around us but didn't even acknowledge us. I couldn't even tell you who our waitress or waiter was because it was someone different every time they came to the table. Overall it was a disappointing experience and we will have to find a new breakfast spot :( read more
