I would avoid going on Sunday. Took us 20 minutes to get water and then the utensils about 5 minutes after MOST of the food arrived. My food finally arrived after everyone finished. Luckily the portions are large because everyone put some on a side plate for me so I could with the rest of the party. We all knew that either the server or the cook forgot my meal but we kept getting excuses about "warming up some tortillas" and "it's almost ready". It was loud, hectic and way too busy. I've been to the ones outside of Ft Benning and Ft Bragg and those were much nicer and friendlier staff. This place is absolutely amazing. Food was delicious. I had the classic Benedict with ham scrambled eggs (since I don't like runny eggs) tomato on a ciabatta bread. The hollandaise sauce was one of the best sauces I've her ate. Then I added on this loaded potato's with bacon in a cream sauce with chunky potatoes. It was so good I wanted to lick the bowl. Miguel was my server. Just an amazing young man very helpful with the selections and questions and didn't leave my drink empty. In town for a few weeks and realized the place we frequented in Miami was here so in we went only to realize it was their grand opening. The meals were essentially comped for a donation to their charity! Food was good and the coordinators on site seemed to have the place running fairly smoothly! The place was filled this day and we returned a few days later to another filled venue. The food is good and made to order. The staff are friendly and attentive. They do usually serve alcohol but unsure if this location does. It's at a nice spot on south eastern and you can have breakfast and do some shopping at the local stores. The food is excellent. The quality can't be beat. My favorite is the tri athlete. (If you're looking for something healthy). When my sweet tooth strikes, it's multi grain pancakes. (Hard to find these days). This place is always busy and I give the service and everything five stars, because everyone is busy, and giving their all. My pet peeve is the service lacking, because of chatty employees. Thankfully, this chain doesn't have that issue. Our second time here. We ordered the barbacoa breakfast tacos and it was delicious. The meat was full of flavor, however the wheat corn tortillas were so soft and messy to eat. I will definitely update this in a month or two after they iron out their wrinkles as I would hope to see improvements on the service more so than the food by then. Unfortunately we were seated right by the hostess stand and maybe he was the manager kept placing his elbow on the rail right next to my husbands face which made him feel confined. (There was an empty table right next to us) I ordered the breakfast wrap with fruit which was great, loved the cromini mushrooms! My hubby had the 1/2 and 1/2, roast beef sandwich was good but the Cobb salad was just ok. Lettuce was not crispy. But definitely do not skip on the million dollar bacon - bomb! Sweet and crispy! I was greeted by Tiffany. She is the host today and not serving tables. She was very courteous and greeted everyone at the door, which made the experience great. My server Jamie was good as well. The only thing I wish she did was make a recommendation. I tried the biscuits and gravy today and $1 million bacon. The bacon itself is not my cup of tea. It was a candied bacon so I will not order that again. The gravy was well seasoned and flavorful. The biscuit was nice and moist. The eggs were nice and fluffy and the potato season very well. We really wanted to try this place so the drive was made and man, what a TERRIBLE MISTAKE did we make in doing so. As soon as we walked in, we noticed attitude from the lady that sat us down. It took about 15 minutes just for another to ask us what we wanted to drink. She then comes back with just the coffee (Poured just 1/4 of the cup, not even filled it!) and NOT the juice (Morning Meditation). Says "Morning Meditation will be out shortly". Another then brings my juice and after that says "What can I get for you" we both had ordered the same thing (Tri-Fecta) and it took literally half an hour to 40 minutes!! We kept waiting and STILL waiting for it to arrive to our table! We even had already finished our beverages. I said "Let's go. This is never going to arrive." And it didn't. We left. We also ordered different drinks and a pancake, and the server kept forgetting parts of our order. When my son finally took a bite of his toast, we realized it was multigrain. He ended up getting sick and throwing up in the bathroom because he's allergic to sunflower seeds. I had to leave right away to give him Benadryl. 11:30am, 23/12. After 30+ minute wait (fine by us), this was the experience: Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Dry (crumbly--need water within reach dry). Companions had a taste and agreed. The appeal to try the other pancake flavors next time evaporated. The Lemon curd-like condiment, however, was nice--if I had a bowl of just that, I would have been perfectly satisfied. Barbacoa Chilaquiles Bowl. The bowl was drenched with an overpoweringly tart ranchero sauce. Was it lime or vinegar--couldn't tell but it literally made me pucker and do the head shake--not for dramatic purposes. The tortilla chips were not as expected. They appeared "store bought" lacking the distinctive taste of freshly-fried corn tortilla pieces. If the chips were baked instead of fried, given that First Watch promotes itself as a healthier dining option, I can overlook this issue. The chips were fine for other dips, just not for chilaquiles. And I should have read the description better so it's on me, but I was disappointed that it was served with a scrambled egg and not with a twosome of over-easy fried eggs; chilaquiles is traditionally enjoyed with a runny yolk. Side of beans were good. My friends had their own complaints with their dishes but they'll just have to yelp their issues on their own. As for service, we needed to flag our server down for water because we weren't checked on for a long while after our dishes were served. Will we give First Watch another go? For now, considering the price of breakfast these days and to be as disappointed as we were, we'll be driving another 4 miles to stick to our tried-and-true, Cafe du Val, until another breakfast/brunch place opens up in the area with our fingers crossed. *long sigh* read more
