Went in early on a Saturday and was seated quickly as it was relatively slow at the time. Still, it took a solid 10 minutes before we seen our waitress. Ordered an iced coffee. It was like a glass of milk with a splash of coffee. Not good. My wife was having hot coffee so I used a bit it to fix my drink. That was a mistake as it was weak, bitter, and burnt all at the same time. Ordered a chorizo and hash plate. The over easy eggs were very undercooked. Much of the whites was wet still. The rest of the plate was over-salted to the point where it drowned out everything else. The spicy ketchup and crema was applied with a heavy hand. The one upside is that the food did arrive to our table quickly. It just wasn't very good. Note, it is extremely rare that I leave a bad review but it needs to be pointed out that this poor experience had nothing to do COVID related issues such as staffing (there were like three hostesses hanging out at any given time), supply chain (they had everything we ordered), or distancing protocols interrupting process flow (the place was half empty) This was bad execution end-to-end. read more

The service was amazing. In the height of Covid they are clean and have proper spacing. I was seated right away probably because I was a part of one, I saw other people waiting but not for long. While the service was great and prompt the food lacked in flavor and finesse. Let me be clear: without the intervention of the manager at the end of my meal, this review would only have 1 star. With that being said, let's continue. We arrive at 1:55 on Sunday and the place is poppin'. Tables are sat, food and drinks are coming out of the kitchen, servers are interacting with their tables. We're going to be a party of 5 and the "host" who was really just a server at the computer station punching his tips says it'll be just a minute they have to clean off the table. Not sure how he knew this was the case because no one else ever came by and he never moved from his position. Didn't ask for a name or anything so we just stood there. 10 minutes later, while we are standing not even a foot away, I tell him we'll only be a party of 4 instead and does he know how much longer it'll be till we're sat. He says ok and seats us immediately. Great! Weird encounter but not a huge deal. We're seated (at our obviously dirty table) our waitress comes over and asks for drinks. There are two coffee mugs and two water cups on the table already. Filled one cup of coffee as asked, leaves the two water cups and brings over a jug of water but doesn't bring two more cups for the rest of our party... ok fine, they got soft drinks anyway. She brings them over, takes our food order, and leaves. The two soft drinks sat empty for 20+ minutes until the food came out while she cleaned the two booths on both sides of us at a snails pace. She can see that both soft drinks are empty and deliberately does not refill them. I am extremely sympathetic to slow service when it's busy and I can see my server running, but this was not the case. Her tables had cleared out and she could see the drinks were empty from her location. Her not refilling our drinks was intentional. Food comes out all at different times. Two dishes first, 5 minutes later another, and 5 minutes later another, and then finally after all our meals are finished, a side of biscuits and gravy. Still no drink refills. Literally sat there empty. Maybe if she would have brought the water cups it wouldn't have been such a big deal. The icing on the cake was the hair in the butter on top of my waffle. My biscuits and gravy were nasty - came out lukewarm, had a grainy texture, and tasted like flour and carrots. I love biscuits and gravy and can't think of any I don't like, but these were horrible. Upon paying the bill I was asked about my experience and responded it was fine. Ultimately the manager took the biscuits and my meal off the bill, told me I should have mentioned it and they would have fixed it. Well, our waitress never once came by and asked us how things were. She couldn't even refill our drinks. I didn't mention her terrible service because ya know, she's a person and I didn't want her to be "in trouble," but it was definitely reflected in her tip. Absolute worst service I have ever experienced and I would not go back to the place because of that alone. Sorry, but she sucked. As for the food, it was fine. The prices were a little high for the portion size, and nothing we ate was delicious. Expect to spend ~$15/person. We prefer the Beacon off of North Beach and Golden Triangle. read more

This is my go to place. I am never disappointed when I eat. Everything is always well made, fresh, hot, and great serving size. I recommend going early as they are always packed on weekends. Or eat at the bar if you can. I always go and try something new here and always glad I do because there is always a new special. I hope the Carnitas comes back! That would be amazing! Firstly we had to wait over an hour and a half to get it after they told us it would only be at most 45 minutes. After we got in we never got a waiter, we just had other people's waiters check on us periodically. We ordered our food and after a long wait again it came, my girlfriend got a breakfast bowl and I got a BLT. The breakfast bowl was fine but my BLT only had one slice of bacon on it! After everything that already happened we finished eating and we were about to head out and one of the table cleaners SPILLED WATER ALL OVER MY GIRLFRIEND AND MY PURPLE DRINK. This place is super cute on the outside and the inside. It has the whole modern farmhouse vibe going on. We started off with the Summer Blush drink (watermelon and several other fruits but all you can really taste is the watermelon ). I ordered the elevated egg sandwich. All the ingredients worked really well together but there was way too much bread and arugula. The other ingredients were fresh and worked well together. The potatoes as a side were amazing. The only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1 is that the food was decent. The rest of the experience was not so good. It took over an hour to get our food with no updates about when it was coming. While we were there, we saw at least one table leave because it took so long for food to come out. To make matters worse, when the food finally did come out, the server made a very miscalculated joke about whether we were hungry and taking the food back. There are a lot of brunch spots in this area. I don't think First Watch is any better than any of them food wise, but the service and wait were far worse than any other spot we've been to. Consistency is the key to any good restaurant. We stopped by again for a yummy breakdown and was not disappointed. The Farmers skillet was exactly as we remembered it - delicious. I tried the Tri-Athlete, eggs white omelet packed full of grilled onions and mushrooms. The dice tomatoes or pico on top was a little water and runny- not my preference- could have drained it first before putting it on, but overall did not affect too much on the taste of the dish. The Belgium waffle w/ strawberries was wonderful, crispy on outside and moist inside and the warm syrup goes perfectly on top. One of my favorite fresh food (farm to table concept) for breakfast and lunch. I have dined at the Destin FL location many times and just saw the location in Ft Worth. I actually prefer the Ft Worth location atmosphere. The food is fabulous at both! I had the elevated egg sandwich which I loved. Perfectly coupled with the potatoes. My husband had the Chile chorizo omelet and it was absolutely delicious. The pancakes are the size of the plate - HUGE. All entrees are very large and filling. Super upsetting. I haven't been here in a while so I was excited about going in. We usually always skip the line in the app. So we did and we got to the restaurant about 11:15 (see pictured) to know that it says your table WILL be available at 11:30. We greet the guy at the host stand and I give him my name and tell him we checked in early via "skip the line" on the app. He finds my name and tells me about it will be about 25-30 mins more. I immediately get confused as this never happened like this before. I asked him then what was the point in doing the "skip the line" in the app if we still have to wait in the line here in the restaurant. He tries to convince me that that's how the process is. I'm baffled at this point and just tell him that doesn't make sense and just forget it. We go down the street to NATIVE COFFEE where they ALWAYS act right and take care of us. It has been our favorite spot during COVID-19 thing. We thought we would go back to our first favorite spot FW. Big MISTAKE.
