Let me start by saying: I have had A LOT of breakfast. It is my favorite meal of the day, and my mom and I go on special outings to try new breakfast places. I have also had my fair share of ridiculously expensive breakfasts; my uncle is the head chef of a highly prestigious hotel restaurant in Castro Valley, CA. My point is: I know a good breakfast. I also don't understand why people are complaining about First Watch taking over The Egg and I. While the food might have been good, it wasn't always memorable. And every time we went, our service was terrible. On to the experience! Love the decor. It's rustic, yet modern at the same time. Wish they played country music, but that's just a personal preference, and their music wasn't bad. The staff was friendly, and three people greeted us when we walked through the door. The coffee: a whole pot was set on our table... order another pot before the food even came! This coffee is so much better than The Egg and I's. Plus, they give you A WHOLE POT. The menu: there are so many delicious sounding options. AND, there are options for everyone, whether you're eating healthy or having some delicious pancakes. They even have some juice drinks! My only wish is that they offered a couple of gluten-free options. My mom is gluten intolerant, so while the toast looked delicious, she couldn't have any. Which is also unfortunate because then you're paying for something you can't even eat... would've ordered something in place of it, but the menu item didn't indicate that it came with toast. The food: Although it's not technically a food, I'm mentioning a juice drink: the Root Down. I'm not a fan of beets, but this wasn't terrible. My mom loved it! I ordered the Market Skillet Hash, and substituted egg whites for the eggs (for free!). I don't think I can make myself try something else. I LOVE the addition of the goat cheese. It went perfectly with the different veggies and potatoes. And the toast I mentioned: nutty and thick, and SO YUMMY. I only wish the butter came on the side... But they also bring a little bowl of fresh preserves, which was a treat. Mom got the Farmhouse Skillet Hash. She really enjoyed it. Avocado is the perfect addition to this dish. As mentioned earlier, the menu didn't indicate that the meal came with toast, so she wasn't able to order a substitute, but now we know. Overall, a really great experience. Check-in and check-out arrangement is terrible. On weekends it gets way too congested in the front of the restaurant! We were not put on the 35-45 minute waiting list when we got here because the hostess failed to add us to the list, even though she saw us standing & waiting. When confronted, she said she wasn't sure if we decided to wait....seriously???! So, we were thrown back into the waiting list & were forced to wait longer, instead of being seated right away....like we should've been. We won't be back! read more

Second visit. Food was fresh and tasted great. Love that they leave coffee on the table. Don't have to wait for anybody to return for a refill. Avocado toast and egg or the pumpkin pancakes have been my favorite. For the kids menu, the crepe breakfast was amazing. Nice break from our routine place. read more

Honestly one of the worst meals I have ever had. The avocado toast had a bad baking soda non flavor taste. The donuts tasted like stale bread. This is my first time eating here, and I was very happy with my experience. The food was amazing. Everything was farm fresh or made in house and organic. Usually that does not matter to me, but the food was awesome so maybe there's something to it. It's got a nice comfortable feel about it and the servers were excellent. The food will cost you anywhere from $8 to $15 for a plate, but it's worth it. I will definitely be back. read more

Love this place! Had been to the FW in Oklahoma City many times, but today was my first visit to this location. The protein pancakes, a seasonal special, were absolutely delicious! Not too sweet and very hearty. I finished 1 of the 3 pancakes it came with, and had a decent appetite, so definitely a hearty meal. Boyfriend had the breakfast tacos. They were delicious! Only thing that was slightly disappointing-and it was my fault-was that I misread the seasonal morning Jump Start drink ingredients. I thought the cayenne was in the drink, and it was actually around the rim. So the drink wasn't spicy like I thought it would be. Service was great! I have been to first watch numerous times, it has always done me well. I was quite surprised when they added a liquor menu to their morning menu, I didn't notice it before I'm not sure when they added it. I usually go to the one in Euless, or the one in flower mound. Personally I prefer the one in flower mound, I feel like they are more attentive in her quicker service than the one that is in Euless read more

Wife had the traditional breakfast and I had the Works omelet with what I call "fake eggs" (blended eggs out of a bag). Both dishes were served cold to barely warm. Toast was late. Served without preserves. Ketchup was empty. Obvious lack of attention to detail. Overall food was nothing special. It will digest. Won't be back. read more

Agree with reviewer below. Great restaurant that has lost quality. Our food over the past 5 visits is consistently not hot, cold bacon, barely warm eggs. I have mentioned this to the manager twice. Waitstaff is always nice and on target but food needs to improve. It would nice if they reorganized the front entrance. I have had people walk around me as I am in line to pay but blocked by people putting name on the list or waiting for a table. Some space planning would help here. They seem to have improved getting the food hot, again the staff is amazing and the pumpkin pancakes should be a staple. read more

Food and service was excellent! Music was way too loud. Asked busboy if he could turn it down and he said yes then he did nothing. Food was great simple and fresh. I had the smoked salmon benedict with the fresh spring mix and the fresh baked house muffin which was banana. I really love the spring mix complementing the benedict. A great substitute for potatoes or hashbrowns. The salmon is fresh sockeye, toast was ciabatta. The benedict was not hot but warm because I think the salmon was chilled when plated. It was really good though. The house baked muffin was ok. I think it was whole grain or whole wheat. It did not taste like a typical banana muffin. It had a little more grain flavor, less sugar. It was dense and a little dry but I still ate it. I'll try one again next time I come in. The service was good and friendly but a little too quick when asking if I was ready to order twice. Typically you wait for a customer to put the menu down before asking. No water came with my coffee. In my opinion, it should be automatic, but I did not ask for it until the end. Typically enjoy our breakfast here but today was a Disaster!! Bring half the tables food out and then makes everyone else (including a child) wait for 6 minutes. When the omelette arrived, it was COLD. Husband's food was cold waiting on everyone else to get their food. There were 7 tables, including ours, so it was not busy at all. Most disappointing time. Server was the worst EVER!!! We had him last time and had very poor service as well. Thought we would give it another chance but looks like we should have stuck with our first thought and never return. No more recommendations to this place and certainly not bringing clients for breakfast/lunch again. read more

Disappointed. The meals are over-priced for average rate fare. The response service after the meals were ordered was slow. The waiter tried to be personable and engaging, but came off as being just a little over the top. The decor motif looks confused, as if it's trying to be rustic ranch country but chic at the same time. The WiFi does not work inside the building. Works great outside the front door. We miss it when it was 'The Egg and I'. Our favorite waiter at 'The Egg and I' (Senor Pompadour) is gone. 'Hope he fares well elsewhere. Good food! Really! Only couple reasons I do not give 5 stars. 1) the text you when table ready. Totally fine with that...but if I get text that table is ready...it should be. I walked up and was told they were getting able ready. And waited another 5 mins...so confusing. 2) I asked for scrambled eggs because prego: and got egg over easy. 3) after getting food we were never checked on again. Which is fine...but can you leave our ticket? Prob waited 20 mins just on ticket. So if you want good food and don't mind a 2 hour visit (from putting name on list to leaving)....then this is your place. I def will go back but on a less busy day. read more

Feeling energized! Had the Kale Salad with nice warm chicken and a very light dressing followed with Kale Tonic and Million dollar bacon ($4.99) and feeling good about this noon time meal. The kale tonic looked bland and needed a garnish but everything tasted great! My lunch mates had traditional breakfast and the biscuits were phenomenal along with Grits! We've often wanted to check out this local, high-rated breakfast and brunch place, and we finally got the chance to. It was still early for most - about 7:30 - and the place was nearly empty. For first impressions, the ambience was too hipster for our tastes and the staff, or at least the manager, had a little too much attitude. Once seated, the menu looked fairly typical, if you could read between the hipster lines. Everything is "artisan" of course, whatever that means. Quick menu tip - the Tri-Fecta combo comes with either waffle or pancake. A single pancake is like $5 while a single waffle is $8. The combo is $10, so if you choose pancake you're really losing out. The food was really nothing special, in all of our opinions (3 adults and 2 kids old enough to opine). It was all good, but I didn't see what was out of the ordinary about any of it. The portions were not generous, so most of us were inclined to eat the kids' leftovers. Overall, it's a different place to try. If you like having your food made by artisans, this may be for you. For us, we'll probably not be back but it was an ok change of pace. read more

My husband never got the toast that comes with his meal. We got a pancake and never got syrup. This place is so good! Roy was our waiter and he made the experience very memorable! He was very energetic, attentive, and made it fun. He also had the best recommendation, the waffles! You HAVE to get the waffles, it will change your view on all other waffles forever! We also got the Elevated Egg Sandwich, it was full of flavor and a nice spin on the egg sandwich. Was very impressed with this breakfast spot. My two children ordered the eggs & bacon. It came with wonderful fresh fruit and buttered toast. I got the classic breakfast sandwich and my husband ordered the classic breakfast. No complaints from anyone at our table about their meals. Eggs were amazing and you can tell they are high quality by the color of the yolks. Bacon is excellent. Coffee is very good as well. A perfect classic cup of coffee. When we walked in there was one person doing both host/table seating and cashier, two people bussing tables ( one stack of dishes at a time without a tub) we waited for 15 minutes for the table. However there were eight tables that got up during that time and only two got bussed. They could make a lot more money if they have more staff read more
