Food was mediocre, not served how I asked for it. Service was terrible. My waitress spoke maybe 2 words to us and was making it clear that asking for anything was annoying her. No refills until we asked 3 times. Told another person in the kitchen that she "better get a decent tip" for dealing with us. I was confused because we were polite the entire time! Tried to call and speak with a manager just to make them aware, was told he was too busy to talk and that he would just tell the servers to be nice. Won't be back. read more

Great food, friendly people, vegan capable, and great breakfast! Would recommend to anyone.

Service was fantastic and food was delicious as always! We dined on a breakfast scramble that was seasoned to perfection and the kale tonic was refreshing without being overpowering. read more

Seems like one of the better locations, food always consistent and good and Justyn is a good dude and always takes care and makes sure I'm set. Give this guy a raise, very welcoming and great to talk to. read more

When you're in the mood for a breakfast or brunch away from home in the Dayton area, First Watch is hard to beat. My typical breakfast at home is granola and fruit, so just about everything on the First Watch menu is a step up from that. They offer everything from your breakfast classics (omelets, bacon, sausage, toast, biscuits & gravy) to some of their exclusive eggs benedict combinations and breakfast tacos. My favorite thing here is the Chickichanga - a tortilla filled with eggs, chicken, green chilies, onion, avocado, and cheese, and topped with vera cruze sauce. So good! They also offer a lunch menu and kid pleasing options including chocolate chip pancakes. This location consistently delivers very satisfying food with good customer service. Expect a wait on weekends especially, but they do a good job of keeping up with orders and getting you seated as quickly as possible. read more

I heard of this restaurant for some time and wanted to try it for some time. My only regret is that I waited so long to visit. The overall experience was great. We totally enjoyed the service, the food and the fact that we were eating healthy at a restaurant was certainly a pleasant bonus. After my first visit we again visited two additional time and all three times they have proven to provide consistent high-quality service and food and we will continue to return. read more

Make reservations if you can (especially on the weekend). There is a waitlist you can get on and there is an app as well. So delicious. So much healthy goodness to choose from. And the JUICES.... I love the ginger turmeric beet juice.... you don't taste the veggie at all.... love the layout and the pristine-ness of everything (food plating, decor, they're organized... everything ) can't wait for the next excuse to come back read more

One of my favorite places to visit on a Sunday, however, slightly disturbing, finding crud on my utensils. Service is great as well as the food. Please, it's not difficult to check utensils before tossing in to the washer. I know. I use to do that. read more

Tried this place out yesterday with my wife. The menu was like a yuppies dream which i am not. We did find the only normal item on the menu which was eggs artisan bread and choice of meat. Sorry also had home fries which were weirdly seasoned. I chose link pork sausage for my meat . It had a very strange texture like tofu . Yeck ! Once we were done of course the check came. It was $ 31.00 Dang ! To say the least this was our first and last time eating here. Next time will be going back to bob evans where we can have same meal plus more for around $ 21.00. Food is very but the waitress could improve her personality skills. This was my first time at the location. I've been to the Kettering Ohio location more often. I had a bad experience at that location which kept me from going back for over two years. I recently returned to the Kettering location and have had all good experiences so far. The food is awesome but the staff could be a lot friendlier and professional. read more

I probably order pick up 2-3 times a month and eat in once a month. Hash, tacos, biscuits and gravy probably my favorite. Love the seasonal burrito options. Great breakfast food with speedy service and a smile, does not disappoint. Only sad the benedicts have never been on menu for pick up. read more

I had breakfast with four generations of my family (five adults, two high chairs and a baby) on Sunday morning and we were seated almost immediately. We also were seated as a partial party which I really appreciated because I needed coffee. The coffee was good. Our service was quick and friendly, and the food was good. My only complaint is that the large groups tend to be at long tables, which can make conversation difficult (it seemed loud, but they were busy.) The table next to us (another large group) seemed very close to us, but I suppose there is only so much room. So, good for groups, good food, good service. That's hard to beat, especially after Church on Sunday. read more

I was in town for work from LA for a month. Ate here twice, once for brunch and once at lunch. Definitely the best food in the area. Healthy, varied, well proportioned dishes without compromising real flavors. As a vegetarian there were a lot of great options. The service is also extremely pleasant and cordial...and the place is kept nicely. I had the veggie grill sandwhich which was super tasty, and their special, the avocado toast with basted eggs..also pretty good. I find the price to be extremely fair given the quality of the food next to most lunch places around here. Wish there were more places like this in the area! read more

For breakfast, you can't beat this place! I have been here three times now and every meal I've had has been great (I've had an omelet twice ("Acapulco Express" and "The Works"), and a hash ("Parma Hash"). The service has always been good, even when they are completely full and there is a wait at the door. One of these days I might make it there for lunch, but if I don't thats okay since breakfast and brunch hits all the right spots in my tummy! read more

H and I stopped by the other day after being deterred by the new IHOP's wait (Uhh, 50 minutes on a Thursday for brunch? No thanks!). This restaurant is located very, very close to Wright State/Nutter Center and around the corner from the ever so busy N Fairfield Rd. There's plenty of parking, also, since it shares its lot with a number of other businesses. Upon walking in, the restaurant is decorated with such similarity to Denny's/Bob Evans! We were quickly seated by the hostess and within minutes were served by our waiter. Our waiter was the nicest man! He was so patient (my H is indecisive...) and earnest with his menu recommendations. If you order coffee, you'll be the recipient of the coffee mug tower thing for unlimited coffees. Handy! I ended up ordering a traditional breakfast, which overall was decent. I enjoyed the bacon (I'm a monster. I don't like bacon!) much more than I usually do. H ordered an omelette and he was underwhelmed by the side salad that accompanied it. Also, the restaurant is closed early. What? At 2? Holy cow. I'm lucky we made it in on time to eat! And the restaurant was NOT packed. Reading the other reviews, I was quite wary as to whether or not H and I would actually be seated and eating within the hour of our arrival. I'm glad I was sadly mistaken. read more

Million Dollar Bacon (I cant describe it - you've got to try it to understand) I also had the avocado toast, which was excellent. Come expecting a short line because I'm not the only one who knows about this gem! They also serve excellent sustainable coffee - you can even buy a bag on your way out. read more

I had a marvelous experience. I visited for brunch and ordered a Mediterranean omelet (which included diced tomatoes, potatoes, feta cheese, spinach, and cucumbers). The breakfast tea smelled wonderful and worked well as an after meal drink. The buttered English muffins with jam tasted comforting. Service was expedient and nurturing. My waiter refilled the water, replaced the tea, and stopped by often to inquire if I needed anything else. Although the restaurant was packed, I enjoyed my brunch peacefully from the beginning to the end. The host cordially helped me, and the other waiters refilled the milk and creamer. The interior looks cheery, mostly with light wood tables and dining chairs. I would invite relatives or friends and perhaps dates. Their menu has an extensive list of omelets, fruits, and grains fit for a lovely, weekend meal. This is truly a delicious brunch place in the Dayton area! read more

I went here with my parents for a morning breakfast. As always, I wanted it to be a top rating for all categories. SERVICE: Hostess was nice, but seemed not happy to be there. One of the most important jobs in any restaurant is the ability of the hostess to be welcoming, accommodating and cheerful. Our WAITRESS was fantastic... 5 stars for her. Personable, happy and ready to help. She hit the mark. FOOD: It was ok. Great variety, but my chief complaint which earned the stars above is the temperature factor... not spice...but temperature. The food arrived look warm at best, and it was odd that some of the potatoes were piping hot and others cold. Were they using a microwave? OVERALL: On the fence... will need to see. read more

Oh, First Watch... you are almost perfect but not quite. We've eaten here a few times since moving to Dayton. The coffee is amazing and the food is certainly more inspired than breakfast chains. I find the prices to be somewhat high for the portions but I really enjoy breakfast there so I can deal with it. Unfortunately the service has always been "meh". They don't really seem to know just what they are doing. I went to First Watch with a group of family members who were visiting from out of town, we were staying at different places in the area so we met at First Watch for breakfast. It was busy, so there was no large table available and we really could not see the booths very well to know that our party of 6 could not fit comfortably in one. The manager/host/man whose title is unknown offered to split our party up across the restaurant, or have us squeeze into a one booth. My brother was the first one there and chose the latter. He quickly noticed that a large group of people sitting by the window appeared to be almost finished eating and asked the host about moving our group there before everyone arrived. The host told us that "those people haven't seen each other in years and will be here for another hour". They left about 7 minutes later. So we ate in cramped quarters. Not the end of the world. THEN the host came back over, looked at us and shook his finger in my brothers face and told him he "told us our group would be too big" for the booth. What was out other option? We wanted to dine together and were making due with our booth. I don't know why this guy needed to come over and act a little crazy to my brother. Recently we went to the Dayton Mall location for breakfast and had a fabulous time. The food is really good and everyone leaves happy, including our picky toddler. We will be back, but we will stick to the Dayton Mall location. read more

Blah. I think that First Watch sells itself as a 'fresh ingredient', 'smart choice', 'nutritious' diner or something. Not only is this place dreadfully drab. Not only does it and its employees possess no kind of real character, I think they make their food in the microwave. I had the breakfast burrito. It was cold in some spots and piping hot in others...kind of like a jimmy dean's breakfast sandwich. They complimented the 'nuked' burrito with a sad pile of scattered potatoes (also microwavable). The only saving grace here was their coffee. It was really darn good and it came in a carafe and was there for my pouring and refill pleasure. Stay away from this place. There are far better breakfasts and lunches out there! Look at these pictures for crime's sake!! Are those pancakes!! Does that look good to you!? The one on the left is either a half-pancake or is literally sitting mostly on the table. My wife's guess was that this is a picture of some elementary kid's hallway throw-up....after Mr. Janitor has come by with his bag of sawdust of course. Gross. read more

Prompt service, friendly staff, and the food was delicious. I think the prices for the entrees were fair, but adding a few strips of bacon was $4.99. That was half the cost of the main dish. I think it was a little steep for an add on. read more

The quality and quantity of the food has declined over the past five years. This used to be the office go to spot, because we could get a large breakfast and then have left overs. Not anymore!
