I cannot say enough good things about this place. It is one of my most favorite coffee shops in the local area. Coffee/Tea: I usually get a green tea matcha, chai or some type of iced latte and each time, it is consistently delicious. Food: they have a small menu of sandwiches and pastries, but oh boy. Those are all delicious. Their cinnamon rolls are delicious, even more so when they're fresh out of the oven. Their breakfast croissant sandwich and pesto chicken sandwich always hits the spot for my husband and I. Service: always spot on. Everyone is so nice! Dining: There is ample amount of seating for you to sit and relax, catch up on work or with friends. The food is selection is small but not bad at all. The kitchen does close early and it catches me by surprise 50% of the time haha but the service is always great. There has yet to be food or dessert I haven't liked! (My personal favorite is the turkey club). They have a good selection of gluten free items, with their gluten free blueberry muffin being my favorite dessert. The workers are very nice and quick with food and drinks. Oh Pettibone, how I wish I lived closer! Pros: GF selections: get the Strawberry Lemonade cookie! Not only does it not look GF, but it doesn't taste GF either! So delicious, if I lived closer, I'd buy a cookie constantly, they are THAT good. Vibe: the space was big, bright, and not trying too hard. Busy for a week day! Matcha latte: one of the better ones I had. Also like the size offerings, they were reasonable, instead of being gargantuan! Cons: Plant based milk: the only non dairy milk was oat. I wish they had another option, like almond! Oat milk can cause blood sugar spikes, and isn't always GF. Would love to spend time here, job searching with their delicious GF treats! I did not enjoy my visit to Pettibone coffee. I ordered a chai and cherry scone and was quite disappointed in both items. The chai was watery and the scone almost had no flavor. I was on my break so I took my order to go or I would've returned the order. I've had sub par drinks at some places and sub par pastries at others but this is a first for me to have BOTH items cause regret. Wow! I wish that I took a picture of the avocado toast! Being from CA, I am used to paying for quality, taste and service, so was pleasantly surprised to find this coffee place. This is a hidden gem! It has a great layout, amazing coffee (they grind their own coffee) and the most exquisite avocado toast complete with a yummy egg on top. Two coffees and two avocado toasts with a tip were $30. Ambiance is great and location is super convenient if you are also visiting the nearby air force museum. I enjoyed the Purple Haze. However, my wife's 'Whiskey Caramel Latte' was too sweet and milky with not enough coffee or caramel flavour. I had them remake it and it was marginally better but still too sweet and milky and not enough coffee flavour. Maybe simple espresso or cappuccino would have been better. read more

Not sure why it's taken me this long to write a review for my favorite coffee shop. Pettibone is very spacious, although it is almost always full. I like that they are open later than most coffee places and offer to-go, as well as, ordering for pick up ahead of time. Their prices aren't too high, but honestly I don't mind spending a little more for their great coffee! They have a nice selection of unique breakfast and lunch options -- the kitchen closes at 2 or 3pm, so be mindful of that. Definitely go in the morning if you want a wide selection of pastries. They don't sell out as fast as some smaller coffee shops or bakeries do; I think they gauge how much to bake a day pretty well. If they have seasonal drinks get it before it's gone! They are exceptional drinks. Never too sweet, but with plenty of flavor and it never overpowers the flavor of the coffee (imo). When I want a non-seasonal coffee, I'll get the whiskey caramel latte. Even my husband likes it and that's saying a lot! Always friendly service and they work very efficiently. 10/10 recommend. (Also, noticed some other review said to be more like Starbucks, but don't know if they've really ever been to a fast-serving Starbucks. They are 9.5/10 times super slow.) Trivia Time! - - What elegant and regal 10 foot tall "creature" is located along the windows near the roasters? (Hint: it's not an animal, but it is living) Suave and hip. Elegant and chill. That's the words that come to mind after sitting at a table for twenty minutes. High class without being stuffy or elitist. Very friendly and kind. And the huge wall of windows means the morning sun can warm your back. And, of course, the Americano I had was superb. So tasty. Sometimes, you go out of your way and have to hunt down new/interesting places, and sometimes, they just fall right into your lap. The latter was the case with this great new (to me!!) spot for coffee. I almost drove by it after eating dinner around the corner, but glad I stopped. It's the FANCIEST, most inviting coffee shop I've been to in AGES!! I loved the industrial, yet cozy feeling I got as soon as I walked in the door, and didn't feel rushed, even though they were closing in less than an hour. Being close to closing time (7pm on a Saturday night) they were out of just about all of what I'm sure are very tempting desserts, which was 50% of why I stopped in...!! Good news for my waistline, bad news for my taste buds!! I quickly spied that their coffee special of the day was a spiced orange mocha latte, which was absolutely AMAZING!! I'm a DIE HARD cheapo, and bring my own cup to Speedway to save 50 cents or so on their "deluxe" brews, so you can't even begin to imagine the "shock and awe" of my $6.25 12 oz. "large," but it was WONDERFUL (and I would have licked the cup to get every drop, if it were just a BIT more socially acceptable!!) Great merch, friendly service, and a cozy/comfortable hangout, what's not to love? I'm not sure this would be an "every day" place for me, even if I lived closer, but it's a great "special occasion" treat. The design and setting of Pettibone is incredible, laid back, relaxing, tons of light, community tables to collaborate and socialize. And you won't be unhappy. They come up with seasonal drinks too, for instance in Summer they had the Chai Palmer a chai with lemonade on ice and some other goodies that is refreshing and pleasant. Their espresso roast is so delicate and consistent, the homemade syrups and milk texture is spot on, and the seasonal mixed drinks - especially their lavender espresso blend - made my jaw drop. It's the only coffee shop to ever score above a 9.0 for me in terms of coffee quality, and this doesn't even TOUCH the food!! There's not a thing from this bakery, food menu, pour over, or espresso menu that will disappoint you. If you like sugary drinks, don't come here. Just passing through again & needed our morning nectar. My husband found this spot & we were pleasantly surprised. Really cool large space. I got a pour over with their Ethiopian beans & my husband got the daily brew (Guatemala) & a latte. I'd say it was a little pricey, my pour over was $4.75, but I'll pay that any day for good coffee to avoid dumping it & finding a better coffee shop. There were just 2 guys working up front, one at the register & then the barista. When our coffee was ready one of them would walk it over to us. I thought that was above & beyond. Just really friendly service. One thing I'd recommend is if you get a latte is to ask for a short latte or 8-10 oz latte.
