Huge fan of First Watch and been to few locations in SC & GA. When I was visiting my family in NJ, we decided to go get brunch there and everyone had a great time. This chain typically focuses on breakfast & brunch meals, so if you're a breakfast foodie, this place is for you! I always start off looking at what their seasonal menu is. Currently it's the strawberry tres leches French toast, which wasn't overly sweet at all. Then to get some variety in, I order the traditional plate which comes with your eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Sometimes I order their "Million dollar bacon" which is pretty expensive, but tastes like bacon glazed in maple syrup; seriously delicious! Overall, family and I had a great dining experience at this location. Service was spot on with great staff. Little noisy from everyone's chatter, but like I said, if you're a breakfast foodie, highly recommend giving this place a go! read more

Stopped at first watch for the first meal of the day. A ton of great options reminds me a lot of turning point. We went with a waffle and the 1/2 soup 1/2 sandwich combo. Sandwich was on point turkey club and the tomato basil complemented it so well. Waffle was good it had cinnamon butter and a berry mixture. I went to first watch and enjoyed myself a morning breakfast with my younger sister. We ordered a coffee each, two fresh healthy juices (pineapple express & morning meditation juice drink), and for our breakfast meal we ate BLTE and the Elevated Egg sandwich. The service was great, the waitress was friendly and showed us their seasonal spring menu. The ambiance was calm as it was still pretty early during the morning hours. There were a couple of tables dining in as well. The restaurant interior was pretty and the service was quick. Updating my review after second visit a week later. Maybe it comes down food choices on second time around? We ordered Floridian French toast which was very good with the fresh fruit and the warm berry compote added. Very heart warming. Friend had the BLTE sandwich which came with choice or side. He opted for tomato basil soup. Also had a juice blend. Coffee was good too. All was very good I'd say. Quickly seated on a Saturday morning. Note to staff. Be careful with the hair. Hair was stuck to the berry compost cup. Don't see it til I finished. Ain't mine cuz I ain't got lucky in the hair dept lol. read more

I really liked the dining area, so open and easy on the eyes. My bro & I wanted a nice lunch and I wanted to try this new venue up the road a bit. Natalie and Nicole were our servers and told us the restaurant opened 3months ago. Bring on the coffee and menus. I had a roast beef and Harvati cheese sandwich with an abundance of argula. Possibly a bit too much. Excellent tasting sandwich. My bro pigged out. Two Giant pancakes, buttermilk biscuits with gravy (Southern style). And seasoned potatoes. First time here and the service was very good. We came on a Saturday, late in the morning and it was surprisingly not crowded. I ordered the eggs benedict which was good, I didn't love the ham and would have preferred canadian bacon but I knew what I was ordering from the menu so that's on me. The hollandaise was really great and a little lemon-y. Potatoes are cooked to perfection, but I wish there were more onions!! I tried some of the elote breakfast burrito which is a summer special and I think I'll order that next time, very fresh and flavorful. I appreciate the restaurants commitment to quality ingredients and intentional sourcing. This location was clean and inviting! read more

This was my first time eating at first watch. I went with some of my sorority sisters as we were in town for a going for a very dear friend of ours. The service was amazing. The food was on point and some very eclectic dishes and drinks were on the menu I must say for my first time I was impressed, but the service was slow when it came to giving out the food our waitress came over more than once to check on us, which was great, but if you're not bringing the food out, why even check on us we're just sipping water to your coffee. Then when the food came out the waitress disappeared. She stopped checking on us when she finally did come back. We are ready to pack up and go and take our bill and Relief. Oh no it was a 50-50 experience. I'll have to try another one in a different town city and state just to give it a fair shake. read more

So this was my first time here. It's an 'upscale' brunch place. Multigrain everything. Kale & power bowls on the menu. The food tasted nice & fresh. I usually get green peppers but apparently they didn't have green peppers only red or green chile peppers. They also didn't have American cheese. Only mozzarella cheddar or Gruyère. The toast was thick. Only 1 slice cut in half slathered with butter and a small side of strawberry jelly. I prefer my bacon extra crispy, unfortunately it wasn't crispy enough. The food was decent. The service was good. The server I had apparently was training another person. I like sitting at counters. However this counter I was sitting at was awkward. I had to turn in order to speak to my server. If I go back I'll choose a table instead. They have outdoor seating as well. My meal was about $20 not including tip. If you like to customize your eggs I would be cautious eating here as they have very limited choices. read more

My husband & I dined in for breakfast on Tuesday. I did not expect it to be so busy on a Tuesday, but it's a newer restaurant to the area, so I guess everyone was as curious as us. We got seated right away in a booth. It's an open space concept, sort of modern farmhouse vibes, plenty of tables. Our server was nice, got started with some drinks. I tried the lavender drink, Purple Haze. It was good, a little more sugary than I had anticipated, but still refreshing. My husband ordered the trifecta- pancakes, bacon and eggs. The presentation was nice, it's not a short stack however, it's just one giant pancake. I ordered the power quinoa bowl, with basted eggs- I never had basted, & wasn't offered a different style, but I actually enjoyed them. The bowl was delicious, right amount of seasoning & dressing, & not an overpowering portion. The menu seems to rave about the in house made crimini mushrooms on several sections of it, but truthfully, that was my least favorite part of the bowl & I am a mushroom lover. I also had a side of biscuits & gravy- also delicious, husband snuck some of that from me. Two juices, one side, & two entrees came out at just about $52. Slightly pricey, but I would rather spend more on good, healthy food. (Well semi healthy with this order). Server checked on us just enough. They also have a patio, which I'm sure will be full in the summer. Great experience, would definitely recommend. read more

This place rules! Happy to see First Watch in the area. It was packed when we went because it is the holidays and people don't want to cook. Lots of families. The seating is spacious and we were seated after a short wait. The staff were welcoming and professional. The food was delicious and came out quick. The menu has a lot of variety. I've been meaning to try First Watch since they opened and finally got around to going for a quick brunch. The restaurant was busy as expected. Our server was friendly and took our order quickly. The restaurant is big with a nice ambiance. We tried the honey caramel crunch iced coffee and a regular iced coffee to start. Have been to this location a few times as well as others in Colorado. First two times here, service and food was amazing. Went again yesterday. a Friday, and would have rated it a 3. Pancakes were burnt on one side for both orders, bacon under cooked, and waitress just wanted her shift to be over. Drinks weren't refilled and while we were finishing meal, we were told they were closing in ten minutes. The restaurant was still a 1/4 filled but wait staff was clearly done. I will add they were quick to clear dishes and the restaurant has been consistently clean. Would love if they would add a flavored oat or almond creamer to their selection. read more

The good.....Service today was good. Server was engaging and pleasant. My wife had the breakfast sandwich which was very good. Potatoes were a little on the over crispy side. Coffee, d-lishious. I order the Farmhouse Hash which was underwhelming. Cubed, mostly overcooked potatoes does not a hash make. The bits, I do mean bits of bacon, pieces of onions and half of the potatoes were black! Burnt. I brought this all to the attention of the manager who apologized and insisted he give us an order of potatoes to go. I replied that it wasn't necessary but he insisted. So upon receiving the potatoes I opened the container to find the same burnt onions amongst the overcooked potatoes! I've been to First Watch in Dunwoody,GA several times over the years and was never disappointed. I might give this place another try. Maybe the chef was having a bad day? I've been wanting to come here when I found out that First Watch was opening up closer to home. There was a slight wait for a table when we got there. The restaurant is pretty big and when we went, it was also extremely crowded. It has a very rustic vibe, with the floors being wooden, the lamps dangling from wooden boards, and the lamps hanging over the booths being made out of wood as well. Towards the back is the kitchen, which is obscured by a wall of cubbies holding potted plants, watering cans, and airtight jars. A long plush gray booth sits front and center in the restaurant too and next to the kitchen is an elaborate painting of a brown horse with "Eatontown" in front of it. Daughter ordered The Works, which is an omelette with ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. The omelette is topped with sour cream. She said that it was delicious and that the entree had everything inside of it. She loved it and said that she would order it again. Next, Hubs had Frittata Rustica, which is an Italian style omelet with kale, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes topped with mozzarella and parmesan cheese. The frittata is served with ciabatta toast and lemon dressed mixed greens. I stole his toast. LOL. Hubs said that the salad was fine and the omelette tasted healthy. He said he got what he ordered and was happy. Lastly, I ordered the Floridian French Toast, which is thick cut brioche bread covered with bananas, kiwi and berries that's lightly dusted with powdered cinnamon sugar. I loved my French toast because of the fresh fruit. It felt pretty healthy and I was happy with my entree as well. Service was pretty quick and friendly. Was told 20 minutes. Waited 40. This place must be connected to Turning Point. Same concept. Food was good. Smoothie was yummy. Just totally over whelmed service staff. Disappointment! Today was my first visit to "First Watch" in Eatontown, New Jersey. This morning I wanted a very simple classic grilled cheese sandwich on traditional thin(ner) sliced sandwich bread, which they confirmed that they do make. The server declined to serve me one because it is only found on the "Children's Menu", not the "Adult Menu". I offered to pay an "adult" price for a comparable "Adult" item, and then be served the grilled cheese sandwich instead - but was again declined. Under no circumstances can any adult consume any "Child" item. I settled for a poor "Adult" substitute with very thick bread. The food was good, but was not the classic grilled cheese sandwich which, again, they confirmed that they do make. In my 50+ years of frequent Diner dinning, I've never seen a restaurant maintain this ridiculous policy. Clearly, it's a corporate maneuver, motivated by greed, to force patrons into more expensive options. I don't blame the staff for a policy that they have to enforce; they were all quite friendly, helpful and professional. I told them, in truth, I had no complaints - about what I was served. Yes, today the corporation earned a few extra dollars on my meal. Sadly, it has lost years and hundreds of dollars that I might have spent. Quite unfortunately, this incident overshadowed all the other wonderful and positive things I saw today. I could have been a long time, reliable, repeat customer. If they ever change the policy (which they won't), I would love to return often and purchase a lot more than a simple sandwich. Good Luck ... and ... Good Riddance ! read more

I ordered the Tri-fecta. This had various options to select from. I chose eggs over hard, a blueberry pancake, and bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The pancake was massive-it was the size of a dinner plate and it was full of fresh blueberries. Very good and it came with blueberry compote. The bacon I upgraded to a larger size - the larger size was very hard to finish. They put maple syrup on it and it ended up being too much - but it tasted great. Keep to the menu portion without upgrading. I also had coffee and that was very good. Service was spot on. read more

We visited First Watch in Eatontown this morning. The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and nearly empty -- promising start. We were seated quickly and ordered coffee and tea. When we asked for milk (since only creamers were on the table), the server said she'd bring some -- but never did. She spent most of her time in the back and didn't check on us. After waiting and eventually flagging her down again from across the restaurant, she said she'd go get it... and still didn't. After another 15 minutes (over 40 minutes total), with cold drinks we walked out. We've never walked out of a restaurant before, but this was just unacceptable -- especially for breakfast. There were two adult women servers working. There were two other tables that came in after us. That was it. The restaurant was empty. I could almost understand if our server was slammed with tables but this was not the case. With the prices of today's food and the tip that is expected, customer service needs to be better. Wish we could've tasted the food but sorry breakfast starts with coffee. Service at Edie's in Rumson right after was excellent, by contrast. Sadly, we won't be back. The ambiance of this place is great. Plenty of seats and very roomy. The service is lacking. We've been here a few times but today was the worst as far as service. The waitress was very inattentive and it took her a while to first come out to us. About 30 mins go by and we finally received our food. Unfortunately it was lukewarm warm at best. Our omelette was also missing the salad. It took our waitress over 15 mins to bring out the salad that's included. We had to ask twice. At this point, we were finished with the food! I am very understanding of the challenges in the service industry and hate leaving reviews but I felt it was warranted in this case because having good service brings back your customers. I give this place a big No. I ordered the bacon corn bread, cold and stale. No flavor. The havarti roast beef is not real roast beef it's pink like ham and salty , couldn't even finish one half. Went to First Watch this morning for the first time and had a great experience. Got delicious meals for my wife and I. We had the Carne Asada breakfast tacos and the Double Bacon Parmesan Hash. Excellent new hotspot for breakfast and lunch. Food quality is top-notch and portions are fine. I also found the prices to be reasonable. The only thing that's a little bit of a turn off is that you sit a little too close to other people for my tastes. You can take your fork and gently reach over and try what your neighbo is eating. First visit to this place............disappointing. We waited, maybe 5 -10 minutes for a table, not horrible. Place was clean and in order. Staff seemed welcoming. Menu looked interesting. Party of two - We were seated by a server/host who referred to us as "sweetheart" or something similarly inappropriate. I thought that she was just being folksy but our server also addressed us with another "cutesy" but inappropriate greeting. Service was slow despite there being an overabundance of servers. Took 15 minutes to get water to the table. One person in our party ordered a breakfast type meal of eggs, one ordered soup and lunch type sandwich. Took another 25 minutes and everything was cold except the potatoes. Soup was very salty. Bacon was mostly fat & undercooked. Meat on sandwich was old & dry. The entrance to the place had an outside door and another glass door inside a small glass foyer to enter the restaurant. Both doors were slow to close so every time someone opened the outside door to enter, a gust of freezing cold air blew into the restaurant. It was already bitterly cold outside so this made the meal extra special. Cant say that we'd rush back to this place. It is just another fast food place with servers. read more

I came here with 2 friends for breakfast. I had Benedict with hollandaise sauce n salad! It was delicious the first time I went. My friends enjoyed, too. Recently we went again n I had the same but was missing avocado n the egg white wasn't fully cooked as it was running (yuck). Today had breakfast here for the third time. The food is high quality, service is good, prices above average. Had French toast that the menu describes "custard- dipped" which was no more custard dipped than a usual piece of plain bread! No cinnamon at all as advertised - and do not be deceived that the "warm compote" is a very small container of compote, not something that is generous and spread over the French toast. Very underwhelming and dissatisfying in comparison to the description or online photo. Definitely get something else than this "French toast" if you visit. (I was offered another menu item because I was dissatisfied with meal.) read more
