Had a fantastic time here with really excellent food. New Jersey is renowned for diners and this is one of the great ones! Came here with a large group and the staff was extremely accommodating and we were served very quickly. I had the Mexican omelette and grits, really, really tasty! I enjoyed the food so much and I even got to try the french toast which was really fantastic. Extra points as I was visiting with my band and they let us stay a few extra hours with lots of coffee and water as we went over our upcoming set list. They didn't hurry us at all and didn't even get annoyed when we basically stayed until closing, they were so sweet. Enjoyed my time here and everyone had such positive things to say about the food!

I was very hungry and had some time to spend on myself, so I decided to eat at this diner. It had an outdoor patio entrance and was clean inside. My hostess was nice and waved me in to sit. I looked over the menu and decided on a grilled chicken pita that came with fries, coleslaw, and a pickle. I also ordered a diet coke. The waitress was very pleasant and took my order. The food came out hot and fresh. The coleslaw was excellent and made to my liking (I'm not a fan of mayo). The pickle was very cold and good. The fries were good, but the chicken gyro was very salty. I would hope they read this review and consider lowering the amount of salt on their chicken.

Nice little place in Red bank, priced right and Good service. Needs a little more excitement in there presentation as the menue sounds better than the actual product. omelets were great!!

Breakfast & Lunch only. Excellent service, always. Standouts are the their salads in general, BBQ ribs, French dip roast beef sandwich. Chicken salad, egg salad platters and sandwiches. Diner basics are very good, burgers, pancakes, eggs, grilled cheese, fries. Owner always present and checks food. During the covid: I try to always be outside but the dining room, counter are open. I am happy to report they use real silverware & dishes outside. Especially helpful when it's windy, as it is today. Areas that need some attention. Omelets are sometimes overdone. Soups uneven, sometimes excellent, todays chicken soup was ok. Coffee is always fresh. Bathrooms are clean. Parking is easy and free this part of town. A big deal if you know Red Bank. Most of their business now appears to be take out and delivery. Owner has been improving the dinning room. I am a longtime customer, first review with current owner.

Italian omelette with home fries/potatoes (sorry the photo is lopsided ha)

This is a great diner. It's not too big or too small, just the right size where you feel comfortable and relaxed but still with plenty of privacy. It's never packed, but it's never slow- a happy medium is the best to describe the pace/atmosphere. The service here was absolutely excellent. The hostess seated us promptly and I've had the pleasure of having Deidre (or D) wait on me twice. She is funny, professional, prompt, and caring. If you are in the mood for some chit chat, she's your waitress, or if you just want to simply order and relax- she's got you either way! The food here is consistently good, and consistency is one of the marks of a good diner to me. I've only had breakfast meals here, my favorite being the Italian omelette. It's loaded with mozzarella cheese and peppers and onions and the hash browns/potatoes that come with it are great. The Jersey omelette is pretty good too. It comes with broccoli and cheddar cheese, but I ask them to add ham...and then it's perfect! Toast is toast, but they serve it with a good amount of butter, warm, which I like. If you want to add jelly, just ask, they have all flavors... because everyone loves butter and jelly on their toast, right? Or, well, just me! ha! My friend has gotten the streak here twice as well as the pork chops. I'm not one to order steak at a diner but well he seems to eat anything but is a snob about it LOL! He devoured the steak, which means it is worth ordering! He also asked for TWO sides of rice and onion rings, which were also very good. The onions rings were nice and crispy, and he quickly gobbled them up. Ha! The steak typically comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes but you can order whatever side you like. The steak was cooked exactly to his liking. The pork chops were very good. I had a "chop" as they do serve nice portions here and it was pretty good! Who knew a diner would have decent chops!!! I have to add that the cream of turkey soup is also very good. If it's on the menu, try a bowl! Oh, and the coffee! It's good. Plus, if you get D as your waitress, she will always make sure your mug is full and hot! The Red Bank Diner also delivers, which is a nice plus... and they are on time and prompt! Overall this is just a great little spot. I feel like it's the kind of diner that you can just stop in, always get a table, consistently receive good food and service, and just have a nice time with your boyfriend, friend, parents, or just yourself. :)

I was in the Red Bank area around 4;30 pm on a weekday.  Anyone that knows New Jersey traffic knows that 4 pm starts bumper to bumper, everywhere.  I live about 90 minutes from Red Bank and I while I wasn't starving around 4:30, I didn't particularly want to wait until probably 6:30-7 when I would actually get home.  It seemed like a good idea to find a diner and stop.  I didn't know much about Red Bank, but I stumbled upon the Red Bank Diner and made my way there. Atmosphere: The Red Bank Diner is unique.  It's located on the main road and a local business.  It's not a standalone building and attached to several other restaurants.  The inside is clean and modern.  It has several booths and a small bar.  It reminds me more of a local restaurant than a diner, but that is okay! Coffee: The coffee was good.  What gave it an "A" is our server kept it refilled the entire time.  There was never a moment that my cup came close to being empty (and believe me, I can drink coffee). Food: The Red Bank Diner has all of the usual diner favorites.  There are plenty of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.  I wasn't starving, but I was hungry.  It took me a while to decide what I wanted.  I randomly decided to order the St. Louis Burger. I had no idea why or even what it came with.  Honestly, I just did it by name and hmm: I've never been to St. Loius.  It was topped with cheese, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese.  It also came with "cajun" fries which to be honest were just curly fries. The burger was delicious and while the "cajun fries" were good curly fries, I didn't taste much of the flavor I anticipated. Service: The server was great.  As I mentioned, he always kept my beverages (water and coffee) filled, and there was never a moment that I felt as if I needed anything.  Not only that, but my food came out quickly.  I could not have asked for a better experience. Overall Thoughts/Summary: I enjoyed the Red Bank Diner and had a great experience.  It's a nice local diner on the main street and I have no complaints!

I love the pancakes and eggs, especially love the biscuits and gravy. The cheesesteak is great so are the burgers... I can go on and on. And it's not only the food. I of course used Yelp to find a good diner on my drive from New Brunswick to Atlantic City. I found Broad Street located in Keyport not far from the Garden State Parkway. It's your "classic" diner which has that 1950's vibe with the exterior and interior decor. Elvis paraphernalia is featured here. They had a busy lunch crowd. I sat at the counter and ordered a McCaffrey Wrap which comes with grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard. It was really good. The side of sweet potato fries were crispy and seasoned just right. The staff were courteous and the service quick. There is a small parking lot that can accommodate about five cars. There was plenty of on street parking. The downtown area was nice and you can take a nice walk after dining here to the waterfront.

The absolute best diner I've been to…read more The place itself is stunning. It's newly renovated but still has a diner feel, just with some upgrades like a live DJ and a solarium-like addition. Parking is also highly convenient. The menu is extensive and I can't wait to go back to try everything they have. There are the classic breakfast items of course, but they also have some innovative dishes or familiar dishes with a spin. I ordered the jerk chicken pasta which was spicy, so flavorful and also a great portion size. Others in our party ordered pancakes, which were so fluffy, eggs, fried chicken, fried catfish and more. Everything was fried to perfection and the catfish tasted like it had literally just jumped out of the ocean. Our waiter was super nice and we had a big party so I'm sure it wasn't easy. My only suggestion is that they make their hot drinks hotter. Other than that, I'd seriously come back every weekend.

READ FULL REVIEW!!!…read more March 2026: First time at this establishment was just ok. Hosted a very small get-together here (5 guest). Atmosphere was nice. Music was wayy too loud to hear the person you're sitting next to. Food was tasty and fresh. Coffee was good with great creamer selection (at the time). Our server was my least favorite part of this experience. He was over the top with his energy and upscale tactics (pushy with getting us to order extra drinks and appetizers despite declining). I was hosting this event and did not need him selling us after already being told "no, thank you" twice. It was awkward and ultimately changed the vibe. He hardly checked on us after that encounter and we constantly had to remind them about request that were never brought out to the table. Staff needs to be trained better. This was just an ok experience. April 2026 : What ultimately lead me to write this review was my 2nd experience at this diner. The server was a lot better than our first experience, but we did run into a few too many problems. First, we ordered coffee and are informed that per managements request, we can only have half-half or cream with our coffee. Previously they had French vanilla creamers and other flavored creamers but I guess management decided to save on the additional cost. This was a bummer especially realizing that they could easily afford creamers. This restaurant easily pulls at least $150,000 per week in revenue, so I didn't understand cheapening out like that. I still ordered the coffee. When it came to the table I added the cream into the cup only to find something floating in the coffee. I send it back and ask for a new cup, which the server politely provided. We order our meals and all goes well. Eventually two of the three meals come out and we wait for the final plate to come out. It's common courtesy to wait for everyone to have their meal before eating, so we wait. We wait about 6-7 minutes and the final plate comes out only for it to be cold. All of us ordered breakfast, so you can imagine trying to eat cold egg, potato, and sausage. We ask for the waiter, but before he could get to us the manager passes by and we let him know the issue. He takes the plate to the back and about two minutes later he comes back with the same exact plate. Before the manager arrived to take the plate away, I saw the guest split the egg half and add black pepper on everything so we knew it was the same plate and food she started eating off of that was reheated onto the kitchen grill where other food is being prepared for guest. The manager informs us that he had the chef heat the food up on the griddle and that it should be a perfect temperature. We refuse to accept the plate because it was reheated and not remade entirely. We were shocked that this was the solution even being offered. Reheating food on the griddle seemed unsafe (contamination risk, diseases, illness, etc) and offensive. No one pays these prices to have reheated breakfast served to them. I could've just made that at home for a fraction of the price. We politely refuse the reheated plate and he apologized and took the plate to the back. The server comes over to see what the issue is and we explain everything. He says that he will look into it and take that meal off the bill. Now I'm frustrated because one out of the three of us aren't eating anything and the experience was off. At this point, I'm not eating my meal but the 3rd guest is eating. So the guest who sent their plate back and myself are waiting for the 3rd guest to finish their pancakes. He ordered a stack of 4-5 chocolate chip pancakes and was happily eating away at layer by layer. Eventually he gets to the last 2 pancakes and before he adds syrup he notices what appeared to be an eyelash or short piece of hair imbedded in the pancake. Picture of the clearly imbedded hair included with this review. He immediately stopped eating and looks sick. He had already eaten 3-4 pancakes by then and the idea that he ate more of whatever that was felt unnerving, to say the least. We both start looking to see what he's looking at and long behold the hair was there. At this point we are extremely frustrated and completely over this experience. Management did not make this experience right even after addressing all of these issues both separately and together. I felt like my money was not valued and my business certainly wasn't. They did nothing to remedy these issues and I will NOT be going back to this establishment. This restaurant may look visually beautiful but the service is not. Staff needs more training, music needs to be turned down, chefs need to wear hairnets and everyone needs to follow safe food handling skills. You're putting your guest and your business at risk ignoring these issues. I really really wish I had a better experience.
