Came in around 1230 for a late breakfast. There were no tables for a single person. Hostess suggest I sit at the "shared/common" table. Which was full of dirty plates. Went for a birthday brunch with my teen. I loved the first watch in Pittsburgh and Rockville but the Columbia location didn't align with my previous experiences. The seating is a bit chaotic even after getting us in line. The tables for two are so small that you have to struggle to fit things on there and not drop them. Some tables that were meant for 4 people had just 1-2 persons sitting there. I noted that to the server who just shrugged. Anyways, the omelets were good but the potatoes were way too salty. I do like their bread and butter as well as their coffee. Overall, its not great but its not terrible either. I might visit again once this experience has faded from my memory. read more

This was a very typical First Watch experience. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, but the service was great. The food was also excellent. This is my 3rd time coming here but the first time my three children ate here, ages 11, 15 & 21 and they absolutely loved it. I joined the wait list online and was seated within 10 minutes of our arrival. The table was clean and we didn't have to wait long for our waiter to come to our table. This Purple Haze drink * from @first.watch is so refreshingly good! It has lemon, cane sugar, butterfly pea flower tea and a hint of lavender in it. I was about to get it without the lavender because I couldn't imagine drinking anything with lavender in it but I decided at the last minute to try it as is and I'm glad I did. The lavender flavor was not overpowering at all. It actually complimented the other flavors in the drink. I'm not a big juice drinker because a lot of places make them too sweet but this was just right in sweetness. The Purple Haze is definitely worth a try! I walked in this restaurant on a weekday and to my surprise it was packed! Luckily these two girls who I didn't know that made reservations had a big table to themselves, invited me to sit with them. The place is overrated and overpriced. We've gone twice in the last two weeks because my partner likes it. He loves the Million Dollar Bacon and the Floridian French Toast. The Million Dollar Bacon is good...we agree on that. It's salty sweet and the slices are a good thickness. I am a waffle and regular bacon fan...I'm always on the hunt for great waffles and thick bacon cooked soft. The waffles here are quite good! But, yes...there's a "but" And the but is that the waffle isn't very thick and they can't seem to get it to the table while it's hot. Who wants a room temperature waffle?! The butter won't even melt. Service is friendly and slow as molasses in the Yukon! It's a noisy spot so be prepared to talk loud. In summary, I'll eat here because my partner likes it. I get the feeling this place is constantly skimping on portions. In my case, my family and I have ordered from this place multiple times to-go. My mother really liked the pesto chicken w/quinoa, so naturally I wanted to try it out. The next time we ordered it was very clear mine had half the portion it as supposed to have compared to my mother's who also orders with me. It did not fill me up at all. We thought it was an isolated incident so we made sure to check everytime we ordered going forward. The next time we ordered, we checked the box again and sure enough they only gave half the amount. This is not a good look for First Watch if they do this consistently. My mother made sure to complain to the hostess but who knows if that will do anything. All negatives aside, their food isn't bad. The pesto chicken had a lot of flavor and the quinoa pairs nicely with it. read more

Wanted to try some place new for a light breakfast. First Watch met that expectation. While here I had the Crab & Avocado toast to eat. My Sis had the Market Hash. Both were delicious. I also had a few of their fresh press juices, the morning meditation and the purple haze. Both a great morning boost! The wait for a table was about 15-20 mins Saturday morning. Pro tip: there's a small dead end parking lot. Park in the larger lot by pei wei so you don't get stuck! Will dine again. read more

But otherwise this noise will make it a one-and-done visit. " The food: it was good. My friend was served a glass of sour milk to start with. But that was quickly remedied. My eggs weren't quite cooked the way I wanted. But the waffle was good. The coffee was good. So all in all it was OK. Wish I could do 2.5 stars. This place is just so mid. So close to being good. Good service, our server was amazing, she was so sweet and quick. But the food is like whatever. I've been here a bunch of times. Last time I got the avocado toast with an egg on it. They brought out my dad's food and brought mine out late. With no egg. Getting that one egg took forever. And it was cold. The food is always cold. The avocado toast was basic and too much lemon. Today I got the pumpkin pancake special. All the food was cold but the potatoes were kinda warm. Like cmon. Even the crappiest restaurants have those heat lamps on the window to keep it super hot. No one wants to eat cold eggs that's so freaking nasty. I think they're just in over their heads cause this restaurant seats a million and it's hard when everyone is ordering eggs. But actually they were good if they weren't ice cold. And I like the potatoes. The coffee was good but I'm with the other lady- they only have toxic fake creamers. I like the fake butter though. A nice place to grab breakfast and eat outdoors if the weather is nice. I've had several of their menu options and have never been less than pleased. I love the millionaire bacon and freshly squeezed juices. I wish they came with refill options even for an additional charge. They have a community table if you're in a rush and can't wait. This section is for those who like meeting people and don't mind talking to strangers. The parking is limited so share a ride if you can. I ordered carry out breakfast today a little later in the morning and don't see what the fuss is about. Every time I come by I see long waits of people to be seated for breakfast or brunch but to me it's average. Today I ordered the traditional breakfast of eggs cooked to order, bacon, potatoes, and toast. I took my eggs scrambled form with no cheese. They were prepared to my liking. I ordered the wheat toast with butter. Everything was pretty standard and consistent with what I would have made at home. My meal cost about 11. I would order again but it's not a place I would wait to get a seat at. read more

Wanted to try this place as I've heard so much about it. Food did not disappoint! I had the TRI-FECTA which is 2 eggs, any style with either a Belgian waffle or a multigrain pancake plus a choice of bacon or pork or turkey sausage or chicken sausage patty. I opted for waffle, scrambled eggs & pork sausage , all delicious ! My friend opted for the multigrain pancake, sunny side up eggs with turkey sausage. Judging from the satisfied look on her face, I'd say she was quite happy with her choice too! We also ordered a side of Million Dollar Bacon - 4 slices of bacon with brown sugar ( don't judge me ) it was just perfect! The reason for the 3 stars was the service. Our coffee was cold by the time we got our plates. Our server never checked on us until we called out to her as we were missing the toast slices that we're supposed to accompany our plates. The toasts came ( which were really good multigrain bread slices) a few minutes later, our eggs were cold by then. Again, she never checked on us. Meanwhile , we notice that other tables had a pot of coffee we wanted one too! Since our server was ignoring us, we asked someone else who graciously provided us with one. I would rate the location & food 1 star, but I really respected our waiter Spencer, so I gave an extra star just for him. Tucked back in the Columbia Corners, it was hard to navigate to their location and find parking. There was luckily one spot left when I arrived, but the rest of our party had to park over by the Ale House and walk over. It's a very 'squished' location. Entering, they have lots of seating, and their indoor décor is gorgeous. They gave off a farm to table vibe, and the menu seemed to have delicious combos, so I was excited to try them out. However the execution fell short. I ordered the Trifecta, priced at $10.99 for scrambled eggs, one pancake, and turkey sausage. The scrambled EGG, was tiny, watery egg, with no flavor. The turkey sausage was shriveled and hard, as if cooked early and sat under heating lamps. The worst part-my drooling over the carrot cake pancake quickly dissipated when my burnt-crispy pancake arrived. I typically don't use syrup, but in this case I had to-to cover up the char flavor. Also for a 'large' pancake, it was very thin and small. I would have sent it back if I wasn't pressed for time on my work break, my loss. (I honestly found myself going back to work and snacking because I was still hungry) Also, it was very loud. Definitely would not go again. read more

First Watch is First Rate! Spoiler alert! The tastes are great; the staff first rate; The ambience chill, and it you have to, First Watch is worth the wait! We had the Pomegranate Pear Punch, the Chickichanga, and the Smoke Salmon and Roasted Vegetable Fritatta and all were very tasty. The chorizo in the Chickichanga really was a nice surprise and added to the blend on flavors. The seasoned potatoes were a nice companion. The Salmon Fritata, was delicious and the serving size was perfect. The side of greens were a nice compliment. The coffee was Project Sunrise coffee which is framed in Columbia ( the country) by Mujeres en Café (or Women in Coffee). Google Project Sunrise for more info. You should there early otherwise you may have to wait to get in. Parking fills up, but there is enough parking in the shopping center area that you should be able to park with only a slight walk to First Watch. First Watch is a great way to start the day!
