And to our surprise, she remembered us from the first visit. We were impressed, to say the least. The real star is the homemade peanut butter pie it's a must get! I promise! If we lived closer, we would definitely be regulars!

Since the last time I couldn't stop thinking about the Lobster Bisque and unfortunately this visit something changed with the recipe or preparation. So this most likely changed my entire perception of everything, but there is one thing that my wife and agreed on and that was the complimentary bread. It had no flavor and tasted dry and stale at room temperature and what ruined it was ice-cold unsalted butter. My salad house salad was okay and the white French dressing was just okay. My wife enjoyed her Caesar Salad. Our appetizer was the highlight of the evening as their version of Bang Bang Shrimp was AMAZING enveloped in filo pastry with a cheese mixture inside that surprised us. The dipping sauce wasn't even needed. My wife enjoyed her Surf and Turf. My Ribeye was more on the rare side which I ordered Med Rare so I took 75% home with me and just cooked it. Because dessert for us. We were impressed that they offered us complimentary Prosecco which added a nice touch. We had great service and impressed that the owner once again came over to our table to check on us multiple times. I'm unsure what happened to that outstanding Lobster Bisque!!!!

So, off I went after my morning with William McKinley. First of all, I should tell you that I love places like this! I love little joints with a wide ranging menu, particularly with an old school diner counter! They straddle the line between "hole in the wall" and a "regular" stand alone restaurant (if that makes sense). The ambiance and feel is exactly a place I would frequent. Casual, homey, comforting. Service was wonderful. I was seated, waited on, checked on... In perfect intervals. I opted for the turkey and cheese sandwich, which came out surprisingly quickly. The sandwich itself was good, but nothing to "write home about". I was a tad disappointed in the fries...they could have been crisper, firmer, and salted. But that's the only negative thing I can say! Pricing is about right. Not a whole lot of places these days where you can eat like I did for around $20. If I'd stayed in Canton longer, I'd seriously consider going back. I can almost guarantee the food is consistently good, and I only went once...it's just that kinda vibe.

The restaurant was pretty busy but service was great and we didn't have to wait very long for our food. I got the Gluten free Eggs Benedict and Gluten free pancakes. The pancakes had great flavor and were thick and fluffy!

The menu is HUGE and they have a bit of everything. The chicken was extremely tender, seasoned well and juicy. I had no idea what dirty rice was but you get two sides with the dinner and most of the options were variations of a potato. Rice had bits of meat and reminded me of a Mediterranean spice, heavy heavy flavor with mostly a cardamom and all spice flavor upfront. The Brussel sprouts, which happened to be the veggie of the day, were delicious. Simple glaze on them did the trick. A few were a little crispier (maybe even burnt) than you would have liked but overall they were a great compliment to the chicken. Someone I was with got the boneless chicken wings and they were gigantic, the biggest I've ever seen. Tender white meat throughout. Could have been two pounds of meat on the plate for one order (either 10 or 12 I can't remember).
