My family and I had breakfast at SSCR today and Melissa was our server. She was so welcoming, knowledgeable and just all around great. Fantastic service throughout our visit from the young lady who greeted us and promptly brought us drinks to those walking around warming up coffee and topping off waters. The specials were enticing but after a quick chat with Melissa we were locked in. Food came out so fast, hot and accurate. Meal was cooked to perfection by talented people who care about their craft obviously. Melissa should be training everyone who comes through the door for FOH roles hands down. As someone with years of experience in hospitality I know great steps of service and having a heart for it when I see it. The food was terrible I was very disappointed!!!! The home fries tasted like they were made in old grease then sat on the grill for a while. My order was incorrect the first time and when I sent it back, it came back worse than the first one, will not be coming back. I really miss the downtown location. read more

Our breakfast was amazing. I can honestly say the omelette I had was the best one I had ever had. First off the menu says they are made with three eggs well they must be three extra large eggs because it was a lot of egg which was cooked perfectly with Fresh mushrooms large pieces of broccoli instead of finely chopped broccoli that you wouldn't even be able to taste. The sausage inside also tasted really good and it certainly was frozen linked sausages. My husband also enjoyed his scrambled eggs which he ordered three of them along with bacon and potatoes. The portions are very large so that we as well as others ended up asking for containers to bring the rest home. They were very friendly when we walked in and our waitress was very nice and attentive. We will definitely be back and if you are in the area don't hesitate to give them a try. I was hesitant at first since they only had 22 reviews when I was yelping for a place but I am very very happy that we gave it a try. I have also updated photos of the menu. Driving across country, saw the Yelp review for Samantha's, thought the pictures and menu looked more creative than 'regular' breakfast places. Boy was I right! Extremely friendly & helpful staff. The food I ordered (no pics) corned beef hash and 1/2 order biscuits & gravy exceeded expectations. The quality of the food prep was phenomenal, even the hash brown & toast got my attention. Samantha's Sunny Corner Restaurant is a very friendly diner where "everyone knows your name." It's one of those places where you can be a "regular" and order "the usual." When you walk in you get the small diner feel. One room with a dozen or so tables spread about. Silverware is wrapped in paper napkins, stuck inside the brown coffee mugs waiting for you on the table. The staff is very friendly and engaging with each of us while taking our order, filling our sodas and even replacing food that made kids cry. (The crying wasn't Samantha's fault!) The food was diner food. I enjoyed portions of my meal while not so much the fries or hash browns. Others with me enjoyed their meals just fine, including the seasonal pumpkin pancakes. Heidi, the owner, was a great host; very pleasant and entertaining, which made Samantha's a place I would definitely return to. read more

Whenever breakfasting in Canton, I temper my expectations. Nevertheless, I was disappointed by this place. Among the bigger irritants: the fruit cup was $5.99 and a horrible combination of previously frozen(!) fruit. I wish I had paid attention to whether the menu said "fresh fruit cup." And the creamer on the table for coffee was Coffee Mate, which by the way is a disgusting amalgam of chemicals and sugar. I had the veggie eggs Benedict, which was doused in something closer to gravy than Hollandaise sauce and had no spinach. I should have stuck with scrambled eggs and toast, something simpler. But giving two stars because at least they had coloring books for the kids and a waffle with nuts (regular menu, not kids') and without whipped cream and chocolate or other sugar-laced things that have no rightful place at breakfast. read more

We shared a Turkey/ Bacon Club Croissant with homemade Mac & Cheese. The sandwich was huge, so I'm glad we shared. Lots of meat and the bacon was perfectly crisp. The Mac & Cheese was just ok. But save room for dessert. We had the Chocolate Peanut Butter Creme pie. Excellent especially the whipped cream. Light, fluffy and sweet. read more

Tried out this Samantha's location this morning and I have to say I prefer it to the Portage location. The menu is about half of what that one is, but there is less of a crowd and the food is equally as good. We were seated right away and a server came over immediately to get our drink order. As soon as she brought our drinks she took our order and our food came out within ten minutes. This location is much more of a diner style restaurant. It's smaller with a little bar in the corner. It is clean and the wait staff is attentive and friendly. I thought the food was great. If you're in the mood for just a simple breakfast at a great price, this is a great choice! read more

When you pull into a little cafe in a strip mall where the locals are lined up, you know you've hit paydirt. We were in Canton to visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame and found Samantha's Sunny Corner on Yelp. What a find! The most amazing breakfast, including delicious homemade sausage gravy! I had a pot roast breakfast skillet, full of tender pot roast and gravy on cheese, eggs and potatoes - kind of poutine meets breakfast. So good! We also enjoyed seasonal pumpkin pecan pancakes with cinnamon butter that were the size of the plate! Food was delish, service was great, so much food. Don't miss this place! read more

A great experience and wonderful food!!! My family was visiting Canton for my Dad's WWII Navy reunion. While staying at he overpriced McKinley Grand, we gladly walked around the corner to the Downtown location on Friday and found our refuge. The Eggs Benedict were out of this world. The portions of food were gracious. Absolutely no complaints. We wanted to go back on Saturday but was informed that they were closed but Samantha's Sunny Corner on Hills and Dale Rd was open. Had to drive 5 minutes to this location but was worth it as well. The Owner happened to be our server. Since my Dad is disabled, she offered to save us a table on Sunday if we wanted to come back. The food was incredible, especially the HUGE pumpkin pecan hotcakes with cinnamon butter. OMG!!! Nobody left hungry or unhappy. Thank you so much for your great service and hospitality. read more

If you are in the canton/north canton area and you say you are at "Samantha's" you better be more specific. There are at least 4 "Samantha's" in town with at least three different owners...I believe this Samantha's is the same owner of the downtown version. And, as you can imagine, they are not all created equal. This location is more of your basic diner style breakfast that doesn't provide many twists to the food they offer. Its a homey, friendly staff that calls everyone "hun". If you want a consistent, strait forward omelet with hash browns this is your place. The food is reasonably priced and you know what you are getting when you order anything from here. I prefer the Portage location in every way, but not to say its bad here. Its just different. So try both (and the others as well for that matter) and make your own choice. read more

Stumbled across this place because it was close to one of my jobs. When you walk in it looks like a stereotypical breakfast joint, with the cheesy decor that goes perfectly with bacon and eggs, and plenty of gray haired patrons. But their fare goes beyond just bacon and eggs. Their menu is full of breakfast options, their German fries are legit, but it is their California omelet that keeps bringing me back. It is crammed full of turkey, bacon, veggies, and a healthy dose of avacodo. I like to spice it up with a side of salsa. They have non breakfast fare as well, but I'm the kind of guy who feels it is sacrilegious to get anything other than breakfast a joint like this. read more

I've made a tradition of meeting my sister for breakfast here as we don't get to see each other as often as we would like. However this past breakfast would have been lovely if it wasn't for the comments made by our server. My sister arrived before I did so she was seated at a table. The server asked my sister if she would like some coffee of which she said yes and added I would be arriving soon as I was on my way from Target. The server's response was "oh she's going to be a while". I arrived and we're served our tasty breakfast with no problem. We sat and chatted for probably 1/2 hour after finishing our breakfast. I got up from the table to use the restroom. The server approached my sister and said" you have been sitting here a while, you must not have anything to do this afternoon. " This is completely none of her business and so inappropriate. I paid our bill and left her a tip but couldn't refrain from telling the server we will never return and told her the reason. She did apologize and said she didn't mean it that way. There are too many other restaurants we can meet for breakfast without any judgement. In my opinion, you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. read more

Went to Samantha's on Portage this morning and did not have a good experience. Although our waitress was friendly she did not respond to us in a timely manner. She gave us a few minutes to order which turned into almost 10 minutes. We ordered and she came back to tell my husband that he had to order something else because they weren't prepared for today to make what he had ordered off the menu. He was ok with that, she thanked him for being understanding which was great. We both received our order and my food had an odor to it. I told the waitress and she asked me what I wanted her to do since she already had hour payment in her hand. She said maybe it was the sausage grease. She said she would tell the chef. We waited and she never came back so we left. I am so disappointed because we eat here all the time but after today's experience (no management even came out to apologize) I think we will not return. Staff wait time very slow, 3 people were working on making one drink for someone. Seems Samantha's is going downhill a bit in quality of food and service which is sad. read more

$24 for breakfast for 2???? The staff is great, the home fries are good but eggs and toast are eggs and toast. Excluding tip, $24 for two simple breakfasts is ridiculous.
